Abstract

Penelitian lebih lanjut terkait LKS yang telah dikembangkan dilakukan dalam upaya melihat keefektifan LKS untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Penelitian yang melibatkan siswa kelas IX sebagai subjek penelitian kelas kontrol maupun eksperimen ini merupakan penelitian quasi-experimental. Berdasarkan uji ANCOVA (Analysis of Covariance) dan regresi, penggunaan LKS berbasis etnomatematika dengan pendekatan STEM memiliki perbandingan hasil Critical Thinking Ability Test (CTAT) yang lebih tinggi daripada pembelajaran tanpa menggunakan LKS berbasis etnomatematika dengan pendekatan STEM. Sehingga, simpulan yang diperoleh adalah penggunaan LKS berbasis etnomatematika dengan pendekatan STEM efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa.

Abstract

Pemecahan masalah merupakan hal penting yang harus dimiliki semua orang. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif yang bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pola pemecahan masalah matematika berkemampuan setara. Subjek penelitian ini yaitu dua siswa yang memiliki kemampuan matematika sedang dengan selisih maksimal 5. Dalam memahami masalah, kedua siswa menggunakan pola sama yaitu terlebih dahulu membaca kembali masalah yang diberikan dan menyebutkan apa yang diketahui dan ditanyakan; dalam merencanakan penyelesaian masalah kedua siswa menggunakan pola sama yaitu mencoba-coba tetapi strategi yang digunakan dalam mencoba berbeda; dalam melaksanakan rencana penyelesaian kedua siswa menggunakan cara coba-coba untuk memperoleh bilangan yang sesuai, menuliskan jawaban secara langsung tanpa menyertakan perhitungan; dalam memeriksa kedua siswa menghitung ulang jawaban dan mengungkapkan tafsiran dari jawaban yang diperoleh.

Abstract

Penyelesaian masalah di kehidupan sehari-hari erat kaitannya dengan matematika. Namun, masih banyak siswa yang belum dapat menyelesaikan masalah tersebut secara matematis. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif yang bertujuan mengkaji kesalahan yang dilakukan siswa sekolah menengah atas dalam menyelesaikan masalah pada pokok bahasan geometri berdasarkan langkah pemecahan masalah Polya. Subyek penelitian ini yaitu 19 siswa SMA kelas 12 yang telah menyelesaikan masa belajar dan dalam masa mengikuti seleksi perguruan tinggi. Data penelitian diperoleh dari tes pemecahan masalah dan wawancara pada subyek. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dilakukan, Kesalahan yang banyak dilakukan oleh siswa yaitu dalam merencanakan penyelesaian masalah dan melaksanakan rencana penyelesaian masalah. Kesalahan yang dilakukan siswa disebabkan karena kurangnya pemahaman siswa dalam menguasai materi dan mengaitkan berbagai materi sehingga tidak dapat memecahkan masalah secara logis dan benar. Hasil penelitian ini merekomendasikan guru-guru untuk memberikan contoh masalah dan melatihkan pemecahan masalah yang lebih kompleks sehingga siswa dapat meminimalisir kesalahan dalam menyelesaikan masalah.

Abstract

The development of mathematical reasoning is part of an important process that needs to be taught to students, as reflected in teacher education. This study focuses on the education of prospective teachers of mathematics which aims to describe the knowledge of prospective teachers about students' mathematical reasoning processes. The subjects of this study were prospective mathematics teacher students who were selected by purposive sampling. The instruments used include math assignments and interview guidelines. Data analysis techniques with data reduction, data presentation, data interpretation, and making conclusions. The results of this study indicate that the knowledge of the reasoning process carried out by prospective mathematics teachers is organized into 3 levels of knowledge in each reasoning process that appears, namely generalizing, justifying, classifying, and exemplifying. At the level of knowledge of the reasoning process, student teacher candidates still have difficulty in analyzing students' reasoning processes, using the meaning of terms in everyday life, and only considering the correct reasoning process. An important aspect of the reasoning process is developing knowledge by completing the means as a medium to understand the reasoning process in each student's learning.

Abstract

Sorogan and Bandongan learning methods that characterize learning methods in Islamic boarding schools are applied in formal institutions, especially at the Elementary School level. SD NU Banat Banin Lamongan has implemented the boarding school learning system in teaching and learning activities on Islamic Education subjects in the classroom. The results showed that the background of the implementation of the Sorogan and Bandongan learning methods in teaching of Islamic Religious Education subjects at SD NU Banat Banin Lamongan was to put more emphasis on student understanding, in addition, the application of the Sorogan and Bandongan learning methods was also very simple, so that all children students are expected to be able to understand the material quickly. In the process of implementation, it is carried out in three stages. The first is the preparation stage. The teacher always checks the readiness of his students. The second is the implementation phase. For the Sorogan method, students who get their turn to read, are told to go forward and sit facing the teacher, then read the reading text prepared in the last week. For the Bandongan method, the teacher reads and translates the reading text contained in the textbook. And the third stage is the closing stage. The teacher will give an explanation of the material that has been read and translated. Based on the results of the research, in implementing the Sorogan and Bandongan learning methods, it should be improved and improved in all activities and learning.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe students' geometric thinking skills on circle material based on Van Hiele's theory (Visualization, Analysis, Informal Deduction, Deduction, Rigor). The subjects of this study were 3 students of class IX-A SMP Hang Tuah 4 Surabaya based on their initial mathematical abilities (high, medium, and low). The initial mathematical ability data was obtained from data on report cards for the even semester of the 2021-2022 academic year and based on the considerations of the mathematics teacher for class IX-A. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. Collecting data in this study used tests and interviews. The test instrument used in this study was a circular geometry test in the form of mathematical questions with circle material arranged based on the Van Hiele indicator without stage 4 (Rigor) with the consideration that the research was conducted in class IX SMP so students have not been able to understand the material at stage 4 (rigor). Student with high initial mathematical abilities, geometric thinking abilities is already at stage 2 (informal deduction). Student with medium mathematical abilities, geometric thinking skills is at stage 2 (informal deduction). Student with low mathematical abilities, geometric thinking skills is at stage 0 (visualization).

Abstract

Creative thinking is one of the most important aspects of learning, with creative thinking students can develop their abilities in every material being taught. This study aims to describe students' creative thinking skills in learning using an ethnomathematical-based inquiry learning model on two-dimensional figure. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The subjects of this study were 9th grade students of junior high school, which amounted to 15 people. Data collection techniques used in the form of test-based interviews and questionnaires. The data obtained were then analyzed using data analysis techniques with the stages of condensing data, data display, and conclusions drawing. The results showed that each group had different levels of creative thinking ability. The results of this study indicate that each group has a different level of creative thinking ability. There are two groups that have the ability to think creatively at level 3 (creative) which is indicated by the fulfillment of two components of creative thinking ability, namely fluency and flexibility. Meanwhile, one other group has a level of creative thinking ability in the quite creative category (level 2) which only fulfills one component of creative thinking ability, namely flexibility.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the creative thinking ability of students in arranging and solving contextual problems on arithmetic sequence. This research is a descriptive quantitative study through a Lesson Study framework with a subject of 18 students of the Mathematics Education study program at the Islamic University of Lamongan. The instruments in this study include attitude assessment sheets used to measure student activity in participating in learning and Student Worksheets used to measure students' creative thinking ability in arranging and solving contextual problems on arithmetic sequences. The results of the analysis show that the average score of student activities during learning is 85.13% while the average score of students' creative thinking ability is 71.875% in the Enough category.

Abstract

The aim of this research are to ascertain, investigate, and evaluate the degree to which the creation of innovative economic products for Sendang Paciran batik clothing and the use of an integrated marketing communication strategy have an impact on the tourism appeal of Sendang Agung and Sendang Duwur Villages Paciran District. The explanatory survey method is employed in this research. The results of the research show that even though the villages of Sendang Agung and Sendang Duwur Paciran have built an integrated marketing communication plan for creative economic products, more work has to be done on it. This is evident from the responses of the vast majority of respondents who concurred with the posed questions. However, of the four forming parts of integrated marketing communications, public relations, publicity, and advertising are the forming factors with the strongest role and are the ones that have been executed the best.

Abstract

This study discusses the role of mathematical literacy as the main competency that cadets need to have in the field of maritime education. Through a systematic literature review (SLR), the mathematical literacy competencies needed by cadets in the maritime field are navigation, problem solving, use of modern technology, operational management, critical and logical thinking, and accurate data-based decision making. This systematic review provides an illustration of literacy mastery Mathematics not only supports cadets' understanding of basic maritime concepts, but also improves cadets' abilities in dealing with challenges or unexpected situations on board ships and while at anchor. Therefore, developing mathematical literacy must be a priority in cadet education and training programs to produce graduates who are competent and ready to face the complexity of the global maritime industry.
