Abstract

Academics have spent many years investigating the connection between blended learning and various other instructional approaches. On the other hand, there are only a few pertinent journal articles on the impact of content assessment on the integrated effect of the blended learning model. Therefore, this conceptual paper aims to identify patterns in L2 research on paragraph writing skills to understand better the advantages and disadvantages of using Blended learning for language learning. This research used the literature review method to synthesize several previously published publications to understand the notion of blended learning as it relates to paragraph writing abilities. The primary parts of this article are broken up into two different parts. The author begins by defending the need for a course in paragraph writing skills within the L2 learning environment. Second, an analysis of the studies that were looked over is performed to highlight the pertinent benefits and limitations of blended learning for the learning of paragraph writing. The findings of this study could be applied to additional research in the future to determine whether or not the Blended Learning methodology has an impact on students' capacity to compose paragraphs.

Abstract

This article discusses the multiliteracy idea to give reasons in favor of multiliteracy implementation in Indonesian classrooms. Multiliteracy offers fresh perspectives on language education and learning. The usage of multiliteracy in Indonesia provides potential benefits, such as the growth of pupils' literacy levels. Multiliteracy adds a new dimension to education and allows instructors to take an alternative approach to teach, moving away from the conventional teacher-centered method towards a more student-centered approach. Furthermore, it places the emphasis on critical thinking, cultural awareness, and fresh insight. Students are encouraged and expected to be more curious when studying multiliteracy since they will be able to explore and learn on their own. Educators in Indonesia, on the other hand, should not be unfamiliar with the notion of multiliteracy. It should be welcomed, and while it may appear challenging at first, it can be a rewarding and exciting experience for instructors and students.

Abstract

This study aimed to identify the language of strata and expression in the construction of sampi amongst the Iban community in Sarawak, Malaysia. The descriptive qualitative approach was used to analysed eight cultivation prayers (sampi umai) taken from the book Sampi Enggau Biau arranged by Robert Menua Saleh and Janang Ensiring. Construction of sampi explained by content analysis technique. The finding showed the strata of language in the introduction contained initial call, salutation, and self-recognition. The body of sampi contained purpose, call, statement of offering (piring), commands, and dialogue with gods (Petara). The sampi ended with a blessing prayer. Construction of sampi used expressions of calling, statement, requesting, asking, and answering. The implication of the study showed that the language of strata cannot be fully summarized as the use of language depending on the experience and expertise of the bards. The expression that has been used is affected by the skills of the bard in addressing the language of strata.

Abstract

Student's ability to learn more effectively is based on their ability to develop metacognition, which is particularly important in the listening domain. Examples of metacognitive processes that may be used include planning, monitoring, and evaluating. This project aims to improve hearing education by learning about metacognitive strategies, learning more about the approaches for using a metacognitive strategy in listening teaching, and the benefits of doing so. The lecturer and 14 students from the Listening II course participated in the event. It was observed that the researchers used two different types of instruments: observation and interview. The findings indicated that students' reactions to instructional tactics might assist them in expanding their knowledge and making it more straightforward for them to undertake listening activities when they have gained the necessary abilities. The implication of this study supports the previous study on the positive outcome resulting from the use of Metacognitive Strategy in improving Listening Skills.

Abstract

This study aims to understand the development of research on technology in the context of adult learning over the last ten years. This study used bibliometric analysis to identify research trends, relationships between concepts, and author collaborations. The data is obtained from the Google Scholar database with relevant keywords, and the number of publications is limited to 1,000 journals. The results show fluctuations in the growth of publications about technology in the context of adult learning from 2014 to 2023. Out of 1,000 publications indexed by Google Scholar, only 628 have information on year and publisher, while 308 do not. The peak of publication growth occurred in 2021, with 105 publications (16.7%), while the lowest number of publications was recorded in 2017, with 50 documents (8%). Research shows that the use of technology in adult learning continues to evolve. Nonetheless, there is still a paucity of research on technology and knowledge of andragogical content in adult learning. This provides an opportunity for other researchers to continue to develop this research trend.
