Abstract

With the accelerating impacts of climate change, global consumers have become more eco-conscious about how they spend their money. Businesses are now urged to implement sustainability initiatives in their operations, including banking institutions as they are a source of funding for every industry. Socially Responsible Investing (SRI) theory is the grand theory for this research. This research is conducted to investigate the effect of green banking practice (X) on bank loyalty (Y) through green image (Z1) and bank trust (Z2) as mediators. This is a quantitative research in which primary data was collected through online questionnaires with a 6-point Likert scale using the Google form platform. The purposive sampling method was used to collect 150 samples who met the predetermined criteria. The data obtained was then processed and analyzed using the PLS-SEM method on SmartPLS 4.0 software. The results showed that green banking practice positively affects green image, bank trust, and bank loyalty. For the mediating variables, while the green image has no significant effect on bank loyalty and does not act as a mediator in the relationship, bank trust was found to have a positive significant effect on bank loyalty and partially mediates the relationship.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to investigate the impact of cognitive competency, which includes dispositional and opportunity beliefs, on entrepreneurial behavior, as mediated by an entrepreneurial mentality. Gender is used as a control variable. This study utilizes a quantitative approach and examines data from alumni of XL Axiata’s CSR program, XL Future Leaders (XLFL) Batch 6-10. Data is collected via an online questionnaire and analyzed using PLS-SEM. The results suggest that dispositional beliefs and opportunity beliefs directly influence entrepreneurial mindset, which positively impacts entrepreneurial behavior. The significance of the relationship between the variables also affected by the gender. When gender is added as a control variable, the association between dispositional belief and entrepreneurial behavior becomes insignificant. This research also explains further on individual cognitive competence that is shaped through family background. The research contributes to the understanding of the complex interplay between cognitive competence, entrepreneurial mindset, and entrepreneurial behavior. Future research possibilities include investigating the moderation effect of gender and using longitudinal designs to acquire a more detailed understanding of these interactions.

Abstract

Universitas Ciputra Surabaya has been known for its Entrepreneurship Education since 2006, and many institutions came to do a benchmark study. More institutions came to Universitas Ciputra Surabaya during the pandemic for requisite entrepreneurship education modules and training. However, articles show conflicting evidence that entrepreneurship education cannot intensify entrepreneurial intention, which leads to a lack of entrepreneurial behavior. Extremely, a journal provided data that entrepreneurship education within several colleges and universities holds little to no responsibility in increasing the entrepreneurial rate among college graduates. This evidence comes from a different context and setting apart from Entrepreneurship Education Curricula developed over the years by Universitas Ciputra Surabaya academics. Of about 58 articles in the journal of entrepreneurship education published by Universitas Ciputra Surabaya academics, 14 articles correlated to entrepreneurial intention. Those 14 articles were processed using meta-analysis. The value of r2 = 0.354 indicates that entrepreneurship education has a very strong influence on entrepreneurial intention. Egger’s test results showed no publication bias within this research. The findings contribute to elevating the efficacy of the stakeholder of Universitas Ciputra Surabaya, especially now that “Program Merdeka Belajar” gives access to a broader community

Abstract

Environmental degradation has significantly intensified, raising global concerns, particularly in Indonesia. This issue impacts micro-businesses as consumers become increasingly environmentally conscious, especially in Surabaya. In response, businesses are adopting green innovations to meet market demands and gain a competitive advantage in sustainability. This study aims to identify the key factors for achieving a green competitive advantage through green innovations, which mediate the relationship between external environmental orientation and green dynamic capabilities. The method of this study is a quantitative methodology, utilizing a 6-point Likert scale online questionnaire for data collection. The sample comprises 142 green micro-businesses in the Surabaya region, selected using purposive sampling. Data are analyzed using SmartPLS software. The results indicate significant direct relationships between external environmental orientation, green dynamic capabilities, and green competitive advantage. Additionally, external environmental orientation and green dynamic capabilities significantly influence green innovation. The results also highlight indirect relationships between the independent variables and green competitive advantage, with green innovation partially mediating the proposed model.

Abstract

This paper explores the financial capability (DFC) of Gen Z in the digital era. Given the rise of digital financial service use during COVID-19, many individuals still lack the necessary skills to manage their finances effectively. The objective of this paper is to examine whether digital financial literacy (DFL) has a significant impact on DFC, with the mediation of digital financial attitude (DFA), financial self-efficacy (FSE), and digital skills (DS). An exploratory was employed, with 98 valid responses from Gen Z participants collected via Google Form. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results indicate that DFL has a significant positive effect on DFA and FSE, which in turn positively influence DS. Moreover, DS is found to significantly enhance DFC, establishing the importance of digital skills in the financial domain. These findings underscore the necessity of integrating digital financial education and skills training into programs targeting Gen Z. The study highlights the crucial link between financial literacy and capability in the digital age, suggesting avenues for future research and policy development to enhance financial inclusion and literacy.

Abstract

This study aimed to provide strategic insights for small to medium-sized companies on enhancing their competitive advantage, especially by examining the corporate resilience reflected in their dynamic capabilities. Seventy-four business owners and managers in Surabaya are sample respondents in this research. Quantitative causal research aims to gain an in-depth understanding of the cause-and-effect relationship between companies' Learning Capabilities, Integrating Capabilities, and Reconfiguration Capabilities, and how these capabilities influence Corporate Competitive Advantage through Corporate Resilience. The mediation research employs SEM-PLS as a statistical analysis method. The observation of small to medium-sized corporate entities becomes interesting as we explore the respondents who predominantly come from the real estate sector. The result prevails that Integrating Capability and Competitive Advantage is significantly mediated by corporate resilience. However, Corporate Resilience does not considerably mediate the relationship between Learning Capability and Competitive Advantage. The findings provide a data-driven argument that the company's capability to acquire, assimilate, transform, and exploit knowledge does not directly affect corporate resilience and competitive advantage. The result triggers further discussion, which may be followed by future research based on the specific industry and the company's corporate culture.
