Abstract

Abstract

Palm oil is a plantation crop of high economic value and is one of the crops producing vegetable oil and various other derivative products. Palm oil processing is one of the factors that determine the business productivity of a palm oil mill. The smoothness of the production process is greatly influenced by the reliability of the machines used. The Ripple Mill machine is a meisn that serves as a seed breaker to separate the shell from the palm kernel. This study aims to identify failures that occur in the Ripple Mill engine. This research uses the Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) method, which is to find out and observe whether the failure rate can be analyzed or measured so as to minimize the damage / failure. Based on the results of the study, there are 5 failure risks that occur in the Ripple Mill engine with the component that has the highest value is the V-Belt, which is 294 RPN, while the one with the lowest value is the Ripple Plate Pipe with a Risk Priority Number value of 60 RPN.

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the optimum coagulant that can be used to purify PDAM Tirta Meulaboh water which often has a cloudy color during the rainy season. The coagulants used are PAC and Tawas with the chemical formula Al2(SO4)3 and Poly Aluminum Chloride is known as PAC with the chemical formula Aln(OH)mCl(3n-m). The test was carried out by mixing 10 grams of alum and PAC which were dissolved in 1000 mL of water/aquades each. The treatment was carried out by dissolving each 1 mL in 1000 mL of PDAM water sample equal to 10 ppm. Variations in the addition of PAC/alum to each container were 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 and 60 ppm. Furthermore, rapid mixing was carried out at a speed of 100-150 rpm and slow at 20 rpm. The results showed that 10 ppm of PAC added to the sample produced turbidity of 5.2 NTU and pH 7.8, 20 ppm: 4.1 NTU and pH 7.5, 30 ppm: 3.8 NTU pH 7.3, 40 ppm : 2.3 NTU pH 7.2, 50 ppm: 1.5 NTU pH 7.1, 60 ppm: 0.8 NTU and pH 7.0. Samples added with 10 ppm of alum produced turbidity of 5.5 and pH 6.8, 20 ppm: 5.1 pH 6.7, 30 ppm: 4.5 pH 6.6, 40 ppm: 3.2 pH 6.6 , 50 ppm: 4.3 pH 6.4 and 60 ppm: 5.0 pH 6.3. The conclusions from this study indicate that PAC and alum coagulants can affect turbidity and pH levels of water, the optimal addition of PAC coagulant to purify water is 20 ppm, while the optimal addition of alum coagulant to purify water is 30 ppm.

Abstract

PT Syaukath Agro is a company operating in the Agribusiness Sector which is engaged in processing palm oil Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB) into crude palm oil (CPO), Palm Kernel (PK) and shells. The palm oil processing system consists of several stages starting from receiving Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB) to becoming palm oil or Crude Palm Oil (CPO). The palm oil processing process can be used in several stages carried out at each station. Based on interviews conducted, each station has a different level of risk of accidents, one of the stations that has a large risk of work accidents is the boiler station which is the heart of a palm oil factory where the steam boiler is the source of power and the source of the steam that will used to process palm oil. Boilers have potential dangers or risks when operated. The risks that often occur are falls, slips, burns, scalds, heat, noise, so it is very important to supervise and provide guidance regarding work safety. The size of the accident caused will certainly have a detrimental impact on the company. The severity of the accident can be determined through identification of potential dangers and risk assessment of all boiler operating activities at PT. Syaukath Agro. Based on the results of research conducted using the hirarc method, potential hazards found in boiler stations include: Unergonomic Working Attitudes, Noise Levels >84 dB with 8 Hours/Day Exposure, Working climate temperature (hot) 31°C on exposure >8 working hours/day, and oil buildup. Types of risk of work accidents at boiler stations consist of: Falls, injuries (slipping, slippery floors) Burns (in contact with hot objects around), Heat exhausting (Heat), Work accidents (fatigue ), hearing loss (noise), blisters (burns), health problems (muscles, bones), contact dermatitis (exposed to dangerous toxic radiation). Based on the results of risk control, it was found that the most appropriate type of control recommendation is administrative control and compliance with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Administration (Administration Control) is carried out by creating or providing a work system that can reduce the possibility of someone being exposed to potential dangers. The hierarchy of control of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is used to provide a boundary between exposure to the body and the potential danger received by the body.

Abstract

The implementation of this training was themed Utilization of Information and Communication Technology-Based Learning Media in Elementary Schools. The purpose of this training is to increase students' awareness of the importance of information and communication technology-based learning media in elementary schools. The training participants were students of SDN Ujong Patihah. The training participants took part in socialization in the form of lectures, discussions, and questions and answers regarding technology-based learning media. The output of this training is to open students' insights as the younger generation who live in the millennial era and in facing the industrial revolution 4.0, it is hoped that this will further improve technology-based learning media. In addition, the younger generation must also have qualified skills or abilities so that they can easily adapt to various technological developments, and not be increasingly left behind and lost in local and global competition. Technological developments have made it easier for the younger generation to learn both online and offline.
