Abstract

This community service activity aims to train the making of alternative energy kits to support the learning of the Merdeka curriculum, especially for grade X for physics teachers in Nganjuk district. Physics learning in the Merdeka Curriculum requires students to think critically and innovatively through a discovery process using a project-based learning model (PjBL). One of the applications of the PjBL learning model in physics is in the alternative energy material for grade X phase E. Based on observations, there is still a lack of supporting kits to support the chapter Alternative Energy. This Community Service activity is divided into several stages, namely: identification of problems and partner needs, Community Service preparation, Community Service implementation, training in making Alternative Energy kits, and evaluating the results of Community Service activities. All participants were very enthusiastic in participating in the activity. Even from the results of the response questionnaire using Google Form which was distributed to participants, it appears that the training material provided is relatively new, interesting, and inspiring. The results of the questionnaire also showed that the training material was relevant to the needs of teachers. Participants hope that similar activities can also be improved with technology-based learning media training.

Abstract

This study aims to develop the e-book Basic Physics Fluid Series design assisted by virtual laboratory Tracker Video Analysis (TVA) that effectively improves students' critical thinking skills. The method used in this study is Research and Development. The graphic design developed, including illustrations and visual elements, was identified as necessary for improving critical thinking skills. At the same time, practice questions with varying difficulty levels allowed students to apply knowledge. The validation process, including the Content Validity Ratio (CVR) test, underlined high agreement and validity, with suggestions for improvement, including contextual design, material optimization, interactive elements, accessibility considerations, student feedback collection, and curriculum alignment. The test results showed that learning with this e-book effectively improved students' critical thinking skills. The results obtained in the indicator provided a simple explanation, concluding that it shows a high N-gain value. In contrast, several other indicators show moderate values. This e-book design can be a role model for developing similar media, especially related efforts to improve students' Critical Thinking Skills (CTS).

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the pedagogical competence of physics teachers in Trenggalek Regency through training in the creation of environmentally friendly, locally-based learning media based on used materials. Problems faced by teachers include limited laboratory facilities, a lack of creativity in creating teaching aids, and the lack of integration of local cultural potential, such as Reog Kendang, into physics learning. The activity methods include participatory training, hands-on practice in making teaching aids, and the preparation of Student Worksheets (LKPD) based on Problem-Based Learning (PBL). The results of the activity showed a significant increase in teachers' ability to design contextual teaching aids; 100% of participants experienced an increase in their understanding of the concept of sound, and 90% expressed satisfaction with the training results. The resulting products include PVC resonators, mini speakers made from used cans, and sound intensity measuring devices using an Android application. This activity not only fosters teacher creativity but also environmental awareness and the preservation of local culture. This training model is worthy of replication to support the implementation of the Independent Curriculum and SDGs 4 (Quality Education) and SDGs 12 (Sustainable Consumption and Production).
