Abstract

The communication between designers and users is needed in order to maintain a high level of engagement among the public participants, especially incase study which is considering the environment. The objective of this research is to investigate if visualization by using Virtual Reality (VR)model is suitable media to communicate landscape design idea from designer to public (users) in case study Situ Leutik Lake. It is answer the question if VRmodel combined with online questionnaire can be a method to gather public participation in landscape design process for case study which is related with public and environments. The research is started by creating three designalternatives of Situ Leutik Lake in VR model by using Quest 3D. The next step is obtaining public feedback about VR model and selecting the most preferred landscape design alternative. Respondents are asked to investigate three design alternatives by doing walkthrough and bird view in the VR model. After operating VR model, users are asked to fulfill the online questionnaire. In online questionnaire, respondents are asked if they understand about the idea of each design alternatives. Respondents are also asked to select the most preferred design alternative and give suggestions about final design. The results show that respondents understand about ideas of each landscape design alternatives and agree that VR model can be media to communicate landscape design idea. The next result is that landscape design alternative number 3 is the most preferred landscape design chosen by respondents. The feedback from respondents about proposed site is supported the statement of Sheppard et al (2008) that visioning by using VR model can affect awareness, emotion and motivation of community to their environment. For site case which involving publics and considering sustainability of environment, the use of VR model is very useful for giving a good understanding to stakeholders about ideas of landscape designer.

Abstract

ABSTRACTPT Pertamina UBEP Block Limau is an exploration state company located in Prabu-mulih city, South Sumatera Province. According to legal regulation, it is stated that PT Pertamina UBEP Limau has responsibility conserving biodiversity in exploration territory. The responsibility of its oil company showed by planting trees in open spaces inside the explorations areas. The trees planted are indigenous trees of Sumatera such as Meranti (Shorea sumatrana), Jelutung (Dyera lowii), Tembesu (Fragraea fragrans), Perupuk (Lopothepalum javanicum), Gaharu (Aquilaria malaccensis) and Pulai (Al-stonia scholaris). Those trees are used to be common plantation trees in South Su-matera but recently their number is become decreased as an impact of monoculture plantation. The only ex-situ trees planted are Jati Solomon (Tectona grandis Linn) as one of requirement from PT Pertamina UBEP Limau. The method for obtaining and processing data is descriptive method by site surveying. The base map was obtained from PT Pertamina UBEP Limau and it was updated with actual hidden under-ground utilities. According to the limitation of open spaces, the planting distance selected was 3x3 m square and the trees were arranged on non-utility open spaces inside exploration territory. According to the final planting plan, there were 10.850 trees planned to be planted on PT Pertamina UBEP Limau. The start of planting plan's implementation was held on August 2012 in Niru Field by planting 1.000 trees. In implementation activity, there are on field planting adjustments as a conse-quence of unrecorded underground utilities. Keywords: Planting Design, Plantation, South Sumatera

Abstract

ABSTRACTSindang Barang Experimental Field (KPSB) is one of a supporting facilities for research, education, and community service. KPSB is one of University Farm (UF) of IPB, with total area 78 750 m2, consist of planting Bloks, research garden, building, and supporting facilities. Recently, KPSB is not used optimally and and not put in good use due to lack of facilities. Therefore, landscape design of KPSB is needed as a reference for future development of KPSB. The purpose of this study is designing an experimental field with techno-ecologycal farming concept. This research used survey and descriptive method with the design phase approach followed Bell (2008). The main design concept is techno-ecological agro tourism. This design was not only concern about research and education activities, but also how to support agro tourism. The zoning in this design are: welcome area (9%), agriculture (27%), education (23%), livestock (11%), talun (20%), and tourism (10%). In the future, it is expected that agrotourism activities can be done well on KPSB.Keywords: agro-tourism, experimental field, landscape design

Abstract

The environmental conditions is a factors affecting of livestock directly or indirectly. The field laboratory of small ruminants is a kind of the IPB facilities. The condition of field laboratory has a less support of environment for these activities. Livestock productivity and optimal quality can indirectly support the livestock farming activities (educational and breeding). In addition, to support and develop the field laboratory of small ruminant as agroedutourism tourist activities. The objectives of this study are to identify the potency and problem of the site as an object to support agroedutourism and also designing ruminant’s landscape in developing and supporting the agroedutourism in IPB. This research uses descriptive method, survey method to data collection, and refers to the stages of the work made by Booth (1983). The results of this research is the design landscape of the animal husbandry environment to supports educational activities and agroedutourism with consider amenities of user and animals that are there. The Field Laboratory Small Ruminant is determined by six zone. They are, welcome area 912.2 m² (4.5%), service 1 035.6 m² (5.2%), buffer 8 899.5 m² (44.3%), tourism, educational, and livestock farming area is 9 245.6 m² (46%). Landscape design of small ruminants laboratory can function properly in the future for agroedutourism activity

Abstract

“Cengkih Afo” is one of the original varieties of cloves from the city of Ternate. Currently, the Cengkih Afo area has been developed into a tourist destination that offers the beauty of nature, local culture and the Cengkih Afo Clove Tree itself. However, some areas within the region are not well-maintained, necessitating further evaluation of the aesthetic quality of the Cengkih Afo tourist area to enhance its existing tourism potential. The study aims to evaluate the aesthetic quality of the Cengkih Afo recreation area based on visitor perception. Method used in this research was the descriptive method by using the Scenic Beauty Estimation (SBE) and Semantic Differential (SD) analysis. The research results show the Cengkih Afo ecotourism area has very diverse aesthetic qualities as indicated by the SBE (Scenic Beauty Estimate) value, from the lowest value (SBE = -45) to the highest value (SBE = 113). High aesthetic quality shows that natural and artificial features are integrated harmoniously, neatly (orderly), and safe to move inside. The moderate aesthetic quality shows that the relationship between the two features is less harmonious and the forming elements are less neatly arranged. Low aesthetic quality indicates the presence of landscape elements that endanger visitors. Redesign is one of the important recommendations for improving the aesthetic quality of the ecotourism area.
