Abstract

Academic procrastination is widely acknowledged as the postponement of assignment completion. This study seeks to explore the relationship between time management and academic procrastination among high school students in Rokan Hulu Regency, Riau. Utilizing a correlational quantitative methodology, the research surveyed 336 high school students selected through the One Stage Cluster Random Sampling technique. Data collection was conducted via both online questionnaires and paper-based survey forms. The analysis demonstrated a statistically significant negative correlation (r = -0.346, p < 0.001) between time management and academic procrastination among the participants. These findings suggest that effective time management strategies may mitigate the tendency for academic procrastination, underscoring the importance of fostering such skills in educational settings. The implications of this research are profound, indicating that enhancing time management abilities could lead to improved academic performance and overall student well-being. Future interventions aimed at promoting time management may significantly benefit high school students, thereby contributing to their academic success and reducing procrastination-related stress.< 0.001) between time management and academic procrastination among the participants. Abstract

Loneliness can affect the way adolescents build and maintain social relationships, including in online interactions. This study aims to explain the relationship between loneliness and online friendship among adolescents in West Sumatra. A quantitative correlational approach was used, with a sample of 385 adolescents aged 15–19 years residing in West Sumatra, selected through convenience sampling. Participant criteria included having at least one online friend with whom they actively communicate via social media or instant messaging. The research instruments comprised a loneliness scale adapted into Indonesian by Gultom et al. (2024) and an online friendship scale developed by Ratri and Helmi (2023). Correlation analysis yielded an r value of 0.240 with a significance of p = 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant relationship between loneliness and online friendship among adolescents in West Sumatra. These findings suggest that levels of loneliness are positively associated with adolescents’ involvement in forming online friendships and highlight the importance of considering digital-based social interventions for youth development.

Abstract

Street vendors (pedagang kaki lima, PKL) play a strategic role in the informal sector, contributing significantly to the local economy despite facing numerous challenges such as extreme weather, financial limitations, and unsupportive government policies. Their resilience in confronting these conditions reflects a potential for high psychological hardiness. This study aims to explore the correlation between self-efficacy and hardiness among street vendors in Bukittinggi City. A quantitative correlational approach was employed, involving a sample of 111 vendors selected through purposive sampling. The instruments used included a self-efficacy scale developed based on Bandura's (1997) theory and a hardiness scale grounded in Kobasa's (1979) framework, both of which were tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was conducted using Pearson Product Moment correlation via SPSS version 21. The results showed a positive and significant relationship between self-efficacy and hardiness (r = 0.624; p < 0.05), indicating that individuals with higher confidence in their abilities tend to possess greater psychological resilience. The study concludes that self-efficacy plays a crucial role in shaping the psychological hardiness of street vendors in coping with everyday stressors and life challenges. These findings have practical implications for developing empowerment-based psychological interventions within the informal sector.
