Abstract

Buton Asphalt is a natural asphalt which has advantages because it contains minerals and asphalt, even though its asphalt content does not completely meet the specification as a binder of asphalt concrete. Various studies of the Buton Asphalt usage have been carried out. This paper presented the results of a study on asphalt concrete mixtures using materials of Buton Granular Aggregate (BGA), treating the BGA as aggregates, with the BGA content of 5% and 7%. Mixtures and specimens were analyzed to investigate the effects of BGA on the performance of asphalt concrete. The results showed that the indirect tensile strength for the mixture with BGA of 5% is higher than that obtained in the those with BGA content of 7%.Keywords: natural asphalt, asphalt concrete, Buton Granular Asphalt, indirect tensile strength.

Abstract

Abstract The use of service level indicators of road surface by using the International Roughness Index (IRI) has been widely used in many countries including Indonesia. Pavement Management System was developed in Indonesia by using the data IRI. The increasing of roads network and limitations of the tool to measure the road surface (roughness meters), so the number of the recording can not fully recorded. But recording the performance data of the road network has been widely performed manually. This data has been collected in a basis data so that these can be used to create a model for IRI through data mining approaches. The extraction of data from the national road network to the region of West Java is used as a case study in the study. IRI data mining models have been developed in this study with the approach of Artificial Neural Network and Support Vector Machines. The results of the IRI model development approach is validated by the level of 90 %. The success of the development of this model can be used to use the existing data to support the management of the road network with the Pavement Management System. Keywords: road surface, pavement management, data mining, IRI model  Abstrak Penggunaan indikator tingkat layanan permukaan jalan dengan International Roughness Index (IRI) sudah banyak digunakan di berbagai negara termasuk di Indonesia. Bahkan Sistem Manajemen Perkerasan di Indonesia dikembangkan dengan menggunakan data IRI. Namun luasnya jaringan jalan dan keterbatasan alat ukur untuk menilai kerataan permukaan jalan menyebabkan pencatatan tingkat layanan jalan masih belum menyeluruh. Meskipun demikian data kinerja jaringan jalan yang dilakukan secara manual telah banyak dilakukan. Hasil pencatatan data yang lengkap ini sudah berbentuk basis data yang diharapkan dapat dimanfaatkan untuk menyusun model IRI melalui pendekatan data mining. Model IRI dengan data mining yang dikembangkan pada studi ini menggunakan pendekatan Artificial Neural Network dan Support Vector Machines. Hasil pengembangan model IRI ini divalidasi dengan tingkat kesesuaian 90 %. Abstract

Abstract The construction of toll roads as an alternative road has been done to overcome the travel barriers. Similarly, the toll roads in the city of Makassar, which is the center of activities in Eastern Indonesia, support the movement of services and economic activities in the region. The evaluation of the toll road performance is needed to improve the quality of service, which can be done by performing an evaluation related to the user satisfaction. This study was conducted to obtain the desired service perceptions of toll road services using 175 respondents representing toll road users. Servqual and performance interest analysis matrix methods were performed for determining the attribute priority levels. The study showed that there is nine attributes which should be reflected as efforts to improve the quality in order to provide comfort for toll road users, namely: (1) traffic flow, (2) safety, (3) smoothness of road surface, (4) security from crime, (5) amount and toll gate facilities, (6) traffic signs, (7) road lighting, (8) accidents handling, and (9) road preservation. It is suggested that these attributes should be on priority by operator in delivering toll road service in order to enhance riding comfort. Keywords: toll road, toll road performance, service quality, toll road service  Abstrak Pembangunan jalan tol sebagai jalan alternatif sudah banyak dilakukan untuk mengatasi adanya hambatan perjalanan. Demikian halnya dengan keberadaan jalan tol di Kota Makassar, sebagai pusat kegiatan di Indonesia Timur, untuk mendukung layanan pergerakan serta kegiatan ekonomi. Evaluasi terhadap kinerja jalan tol perlu terus dilakukan untuk meningkatkan kualitas pelayanan, yang dapat dilakukan dengan melakukan evaluasi yang berorientasi pada tingkat kepuasan pengguna. Studi ini dilakukan untuk mendapatkan persepsi terhadap pelayanan yang dikehendaki dari layanan jalan tol dengan responden sekitar 175 orang yang dianggap mewakili pengguna jalan tol. Dalam menentukan tingkat prioritas atribut dilakukan analisis dengan menggunakan metode Servqual dan matriks analisis kepentingan performa. Hasil studi menunjukkan adanya 9 atribut yang mutlak harus tercermin sebagai usaha peningkatan kualitas agar memberikan kenyamanan pengguna jalan tol, yaitu: (1) kelancaran lalulintas, (2) keselamatan berkendara, (3) kerataan permukaan jalan, (4) keamanan dari tindak kriminal, (5) jumlah dan fasilitas gardu tol, (6) rambu lalulintas, (7) penerangan jalan, (8) penanganan kecelakaan, dan (9) ketanggapan perbaikan jalan yang rusak. Untuk meningkatkan kualitas dan kenyamanan pengguna jalan tol kesembilan atribut tersebut perlu dijadikan prioritas oleh operator dalam penyediaan pelayanan jalan tol. Kata-kata kunci: jalan tol, kinerja jalan tol, kualitas pelayanan,pelayanan jalan tol

Abstract

Reliability of a road is mandatory since damaged will impede the traffic. Destruction is caused by various factors; one of the most important factors is excess load. Overload may give the load of each axle of a vehicle exceeds the determined standard. This condition occurs in trucks exceeding the load limit. In designing the structure of a road based on the method of Directorate General of Highways Ministry of Public Works of the Republic of Indonesia, axle load calculated in equivalent-number, or known as equivalent axle load (EAL), of 8.16 tons of standard axle. Total equivalent-number over the service life is defined as cumulative equivalent standard axle load (CESA). Due to traffic volume exceeding the volume forecast or, in other words there is an excessive load of traffic, it will make CESA achieved faster than planned. This excessive load in Indonesia, however, has been considered as a factor of environmental condition, so there is a need to introduce a correction factor for EAL as high as 20-25% in the process of designing flexible and rigid pavement so as to reduce early damage.
