Abstract

The purpose of this community service activity is to enhance teachers' ability to create Teaching Modules as a replacement for the Lesson Plans that have been commonly used in the previous curriculum. The Merdeka Curriculum needs to be understood by teachers in relation to the formulation of Learning Objectives, Learning Objective Pathways, teaching materials, teaching methods, and assessment of the learning process and outcomes. The systematic preparation of teaching modules as a substitute for Learning Plans has not yet been mastered by teachers, resulting in the available Merdeka Mengajar Platform (PMM) being less comprehensive in providing an overview of Learning Planning. Based on the aforementioned issues, this technical guidance activity involves mentoring the dance teacher learning community in Serang City to develop teaching modules in accordance with Phase D as specified in the Merdeka Curriculum. The activities begin with the analysis and mapping of Learning Outcomes in Phase D, setting learning objectives and their progression, and finally compiling ready-to-use teaching modules, which can serve as a reference for other dance teachers in Indonesia.

Abstract

Urbanization and digitalization of culture in big cities including Jakarta, shift the way the younger generation interprets traditional symbols. Gatot Kaca, famous as a puppet character, also experienced reinterpretation through performing arts as a strategy for preserving cultural identity. This study aims to understand the reinterpretation in the Lenong Betawi performance of the play Satria Millennial, where Gatot Kaca is adapted into an urban expression space. Using a phenomenological approach, data was collected through interviews and documentation of the creative process of the Satria Millennial performance. Furthermore, the data obtained were analyzed thematically following Moustakas' framework. The results show three main reinterpretations: (1) a pandemic-themed story, (2) the character of Gatot Kaca transforming into a comic-educational figure, and (3) the performance integrating lenong, musical, and urban humor. These three reinterpretations strengthen the function of art as a vehicle for cultural preservation, education, and mediation of local cultural identity in modern society.

Abstract

In the COVID-19 emergency, all lectures must be conducted online/virtually, including dance accompanist practice lectures. Students and lecturers are required to carry out practical lectures using human voice/vocals/mouth as the main medium in practicing a dance accompaniment, both Sundanese dance accompaniment and Betawi dance accompaniment according to the current semester RPS. This condition is not easy, because students must have adequate musical abilities, the simplest is that students must be able to catch melodies in harmony, must be able to catch rhythm/rhythm, and tempo in a dance accompaniment. Theoretical studies in this study use the theory of acapella, musicality, and gamut (oral gamelan) which explains musical ability, aspects of musical ability, and factors that influence musical ability. The research method uses Kurt Lewin's action research model, research conducted by teachers in their own classrooms through self-reflection, with the aim of improving their performance, so that learning outcomes increase. After going through several stages of the cycle, starting from the pre-cycle, cycle I, and cycle II, through the mother's actions there was a significant increase in students' musical abilities through the application of the gamut method (oral gamelan).
