Abstract

UK-3A is a minor compound from the mycelium of Streptomyces sp.517-02 and had been isolated. It has IC50 38 ?g/mL against P388 Murine Leukemia cells. Products of UK-3A analogues were assigned the name A and B compounds. These compounds were prepared from L-serine methyl ester-HCl as starting material and synthesized by amidation and esterifi cation. The products were determined by TLC, FT-IR, MS and NMR instruments. Theoverall yield was compounds A 95.63% and B 87.10%. The in vitro anticancer activities of compounds A and B against the same Leukemia cells and found to have IC50 46.5?g/mL and 15.4?g/mL, respectively. The compound B exhibited higher inhibitory activity than UK-3A.

Abstract

Abstract

This article describes the development of Indonesian language teaching materials based on cucupatian for grade IV elementary school students. This research uses an ethnopedagogical approach with in-depth interviews and direct observation. There are several results of this research. First, the Indonesian language teaching materials at SDN Teluk Tiram 2 currently do not include Banjar culture. Second, cucupatian can be included in the descriptive text material in chapter 6 "Satu Titik" with the teaching module "Cucupatian Descriptive Text" and physical teaching media "Cuba Pang". Third, teaching materials can increase insight into Banjar culture, Banjar and Indonesian vocabulary, and can trigger the implementation of a thematic approach in the Merdeka Curriculum. In addition, it can be an example of making a culture-based teaching module. Keywords: teaching materials; cucupatian; Indonesian Abstrak: Artikel ini memaparkan pengembangan bahan ajar bahasa Indonesia berdasar cucupatian untuk siswa SD kelas IV. Katakunci: bahan ajar; cucupatian; bahasa Indonesia

Abstract

The rapid development of artificial intelligence technology in recent decades has led to the development of highly efficient object detection algorithms, including human detection under difficult conditions. Human detection is one of the major challenges in computer vision as it involves various complex factors such as obstructed human objects, pose variations, small low-resolution human objects, as well as the presence of fake human objects such as statues or images. This research uses the SLR (Systematic Literature Review) method to determine the algorithm used, namely YOLOv7. The three YOLOv7 models tested in this study are YOLOv7x.pt, YOLOv7-w6-person.pt, and YOLOv7-w6-pose.pt. These models were selected based on their excellence in detecting human objects and their relevance for complex scenarios. Tests were conducted using 100 images obtained from the internet and divided into four categories of human objects under difficult conditions, which represent various challenges in human detection. Analysis was performed using convusion matrix to evaluate performance metrics such as accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score. Based on the test results, the YOLOv7-w6-person.pt model showed the best overall performance, especially in detecting humans in obstructed conditions and complex lighting with a precision of 90.4%, Recall 88.7%, and F1-Score 89.5%. This model has higher accuracy, precision, and F1-score than the other models, making it a reliable choice for human detection in difficult scenarios. These findings not only demonstrate the relevance of YOLOv7 as a reliable human detection algorithm, but also provide a basis for further optimization of YOLOv7-based human detection systems, both through improving the model architecture and adapting to more specific datasets. This research makes an important contribution to the development of human detection technologies for real-world applications, such as surveillance, crowd analysis, and automated safety systems.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the role of Indonesian in reducing English speaking anxiety in junior high school students. The study was conducted at MTs Negeri 4 Sidoarjo in the 2024/2025 academic year, with a population of all eighth-grade students. The sample was determined purposively by nine students from class 8D representing three participation categories: active, shy, and passive. The instruments used were classroom observation and semi-structured interviews to explore students’ experiences regarding the use of Indonesian during English learning. Data were analyzed thematically through the stages of transcription, coding, categorization, and interpretation. The results showed that Indonesian has different functions for each group of students. Active students use it as a supporting tool to maintain fluency in speaking and increase confidence when having difficulty remembering English vocabulary. Shy students use it as a bridge when forgetting words or being unsure about constructing sentences, so they can remain engaged without withdrawing. Passive students rely heavily on Indonesian as a shield to reduce their fear of mistakes or ridicule, allowing them to participate, albeit with limited proficiency. These findings confirm that Indonesian is not a barrier, but rather a strategic resource that can help reduce anxiety, maintain engagement, and support the gradual improvement of speaking skills. Therefore, teachers are advised to implement a flexible and strategic bilingual approach to create a supportive classroom atmosphere, emphasize participation over perfection, and build students’ confidence in communicating in English.

Abstract

This qualitative study investigates the role of animated video design in English language learning by examining student experiences in junior high school classrooms. As educational technology continues to evolve, animated videos have become an increasingly popular tool to facilitate language acquisition. This research explores how specific design elements such as visuals, narrative flow, character development, and audio features influence students’ engagement, motivation, and cognitive processing. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and classroom observations involving junior high school students. Findings indicate that well-crafted animated videos can create an immersive and stimulating learning environment that supports comprehension and retention of English language concepts. Additionally, students emphasized the significance of relatable characters and clear storylines in maintaining their interest and enhancing understanding. The study provides practical insights for educators and content creators aiming to optimize animated video design for effective language learning.
