Abstract

Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memanfaatkan limbah asal feses sapi sebagai bahan pembuatan pakan pelet guna memacu pertumbuhan ikan Lele Dumbo.  Penelitian ini dilakukan di Station Riset II (dua) Ie Suum, UPT. University Farm, Aceh Besar,  tanggal 22 Mei‒14 Agustus 2016. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) terdiri dari 4 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. Setiap ulangan merupakan unit percobaan, masing-masing terdiri dari 50 ekor ikan Lele Dumbo. Perlakuan menggunakan pakan komersil ikan 781 Hiprovite yang disubtitusikan dengan pakan pelet organik. Parameter yang diamati adalah berat badan, pertambahan berat badan, konsumsi pakan, konversi pakan, efisiensi pakan, kelangsungan hidup, dan kualitas air (pH, suhu, kelembaban, cahaya). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perlakuan pakan limbah asal feses sapi berpengaruh sangat nyata (P0.01), terhadap berat badan, pertambahan berat badan, dan konsumsi ransum ikan Lele Dumbo, namun tidak berpengaruh nyata (P0,05)  terhadap konversi dan efisiensi pakan. Dari hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa pakan pelet organik asal feses sapi dapat memacu pertumbuhan ikan Lele Dumbo. Utilization of Cattle Feces as Materials for Pellet Feed to The Weight Gain of Catfish Abstract. The aim of present study was to utilizase cattle feces as materials for making organic pellet feed to improve the growth of catfish.  The study was conducted  in Station Research II (two) Ie Seum Unit, University Farm, Aceh Besar, May 22-August 14, 2016. The study was designed into completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments and 4 replications. Each relication was an experimental unit consisting of 50 catfishes.The treatment was substition of commercial feed fish (781 Hiprovite) with  organic pellet feed with the level of 0, 10, 20, and 30%, respectively.  Parameters  measured were body weight, feed intake, feed conversion, feed efficiency,  livebility, and water quality  (pH, temperature, moisture, light). The results of study showed that administration of organic pellet feed  affected highly significant (P0.01) on body weight, body weight gain and feed intake of catfish. However, there were no significant effect (P0.05) on feed conversion and feed efficiency.  It was concluded that the organic pellet feed composed mainly from cattle feces could  improve the growth of catfish

Abstract

Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan persentase tepung kunyit yang berbeda terhadap Kebusukan dengan dua metode dan Total Plate Count daging broiler. Pelaksanaan ini telah dilakukan pada bulan Mei sampai bulan Agustus 2019. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Laboratorium Ilmu dan Teknologi Pengolahan Daging, Laboratorium Ilmu dan Teknologi Pengolahan Susu Program Studi Peternakan, Fakultas Pertanian dan Laboratorium Kesmavet Fakultas Kedokteran Hewan Universitas Syiah Kuala. Bahan yang digunakan adalah daging broiler bagian dada seberat 800 gram dan 78 gram tepung kunyit. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap terdiri dari 4 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan sehingga total sampel sebanyak 20. Dengan penggunaan persentase tepung kunyit (0%) = P0, penggunaan persentase tepung kunyit (10%) = P1, penggunaan persentase tepung kunyit (13%) = P2 dan penggunaan persentase tepung kunyit (16%) = P3. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dengan metode Eber disemua perlakuan menunjukkan  hasil yang negatif. Uji kebusukan metode H2Smenunjukkan hasil yang dominan negatif mengalami awal kebusukan di semua perlakuan. Analisis Total Plate Count menunjukkan bahwa daging broiler akibat penggunan persentase tepung kunyit yang berbeda memiliki rataan berkisar dari 4,28 cfu/g - 4,83 cfu/g. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan persentase tepung kunyit yang berbeda dapat memberikan pengaruh nyata (P0,05) terhadap Total Plate Count.The Effect of the Use of Turmeric Flour Percentage Against Damage with Two Methods and the Total Plate Count of Broiler Meat Abstract. This study aims to determine the effect of using different percentages of turmeric flour on rot with two methods and the Total Plate Count of broiler meat. This research has been conducted from May to August 2019. This research is conducted in the laboratory of meat processing science and technology, laboratory of milk processing and technology of livestock Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture and Laboratories Kesmavet Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Syiah Kuala University. The study used chest broiler meat weighing 800 grams and 78 grams of turmeric flour. The research draft used is complete random design consists of 4 treatments and 5 repeats so that a total of 20 samples. With the use of a percentage of turmeric flour (0%) = P0, the use of the percentage of turmeric flour (10%) = P1, the use of the percentage of turmeric flour (13%) = P2 and the use of the percentage of turmeric flour (16%) = P3. The results showed that the Eber method in all treatments showed negative results. Decay test H2S method showed negative dominant results experienced early rot in all treatments. Total Plate Count analysis shows that broiler meat due to the use of different percentages of turmeric flour has averages ranging from 4.28 cfu / g - 4.83 cfu / g.. It can be concluded that the use of a different percentage of turmeric flour can give a noticeable effect (P 0.05) to Total Plate Count, at the beginning of the meat decay.

Abstract

Pengaruh Suplementasi Ekstrak Daun Jaloh di dalam Air Minum terhadap  Berat dan Persentase Karkas Ayam Broiler Abstrak. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efek pemberian ekstrak jaloh (Salix tetrasperma Roxb) dalam minum terhadap berat dan persentase karkas ayam broiler. Penelitian dilakukan di Laboratorium Lapangan Peternakan (LLP), Program Studi Perternakan, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Syiah Kuala. Penelitian ini menggunakan 80 ekor anak ayam broiler (DOC) strain Lohmann, produksi PT. Japfa, Medan. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok dengan subsampel,  terdiri dari 4 perlakuan, 4 kelompok,  dan 2 subsampel.  Tiap kelompok merupakan unit percobaan yang masing-masing terdiri dari lima ekor ayam.   Perlakuan yang  dicobakan adalah pemberian ekstrak daun jaloh melalui air minum dengan dosis 0, 500, 1000, dan 1.500 mg/l air.  Parameter yang diamati meliputi  bobot dan persentase karkas dan karkas,   giblet (hati,  rempela, jantung),   dan lemak abdomen ayam broiler. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan Analysis of Variance (ANOVA),   jika didapatkan hasil yang berbeda nyata  maka dilanjutkan dengan uji Jarak Berganda Duncan (Steel dan Torrie, 1993).  Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa meskipun secara statistik tidak  nyata (P0,05),  pemberian ekstrak daun jaloh melalui air minum cenderung meningkatkan persentase karkas ayam broiler dengan level pemberian terbaik 1000 mg/l.  Pemberian ekstrak daun jaloh sampai level 1500 ml/l  dalam air minum tidak mempengaruhi secara nyata organ-organ giblet (hati, rempela, dan jantung) dan lemak abdomen ayam broiler. Efect  of  Suplementation of  Extracted Jaloh Leaf  (Salix tetrasperma Roxb) in Drinking Water to the Weights and Percentages of Broiler Chicken Carcasses Abstract. Japfa, Medan were used in this study.  The study was performed into randomized block design with subsamples, consisted of  4 treatments,   4 blocks, and 2 subsamples.   Each block was an experimental unit consisted of  5 chicks.  The treatments were adding  of  jaloh  leave extraction in drinking water with the level of  0,  500, 1000, and 1500 mg/l.   Parameters observed were  the weights and percentages of  whole carcass and retail cuts-up,  giblets, and abdominal fat of  broilers.    Results of study showed that adding of  jaloh  leave extraction in drinking tended to increase weights of  whole carcasses and retail cuts-up of  broilers with the best level was 1000 mg/l,   however statistically no  significant diferences were detected (P0.05).   There was no  indication  adding  of  jaloh  leave extraction in drinking water caused adverse effect of  giblets nor abdominal fat of  broiler chickens.Keywords: broiler,  carcass, giblets, abdominal fat, jaloh

Abstract

Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh substitusi sebagian ransum komersil periode finisher dengan tepung kulit pisang fermentasi + bungkil kelapa + feed supplement  terhadap efisiensi ekonomis pemeliharaan  ayam broiler.  Penelitian dilakukan  di Laboratorium Lapangan Peternakan (LLP),  Program Studi Perternakan,  Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Syiah Kuala,  tanggal 1 April‒5 Mei 2016.  Penelitian menggunakan 100 ekor anak ayam broiler (DOC) strain lohmann.  Perlakuan yang  dicobakan adalah pemberian tepung kulit pisang kepok fermentasi + bungkil kelapa + feed supplement, sebanyak 0% (P1), 2,5%+1,5%+1% (P2), 5%+3%+1% (P3). 7,5%+4,5%+1% (P4), dan 10%+6%+1% (P5)   Parameter yang diamati meliputi aspek teknis (berat badan akhir dan  total konsumsi ransum) dan aspek ekonomis (penerimaan,  biaya, Income over Feed Cost, dan total income).   Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa substitusi ransum komersil dengan sebanyak-banyaknya 10% tepung kulit pisang kepok fermentasi + 6% bungkil kelapa + 1% feed supplement selama periode finisher tidak berpengaruh nyata (P0.05) terhadap berat badan akhir dan total konsumsi ransum ayam broiler.   Substitusi ransum komersil dengan tepung kulit pisang kepok fermentasi + bungkil kelapa + feed supplement  selama periode finisher menurunkan biaya ransum dan menaikkan IOFC dan total income.   Ransum komersil paling layak dan menguntungkan jika disubstitusi dengan 7,5% tepung kulit pisang kepok fermentasi + 4,5% bungkil kelapa + 1%  feed supplement  selama periode finisher.     Economic Analysis of Administration of Fermented Banana Peel and Feed Supplement  as Partial Substitution of Commercial Broiler DietAbstract:  The aim of present study was to analysis the efficiency of partial substitution of commercial broiler diet with fermented banana peel + coconut meal + feed supplement during finisher period.  The study was conducted in Field Laboratory of Animal Husbandy Department,  Faculty of Agriculture, Syiah Kuala University,  April 1 until Mei 5, 2016.   As many as 100 chicks,  strain lohmann.   The treatment was the provision of  fermented banana peel  + coconut meal +  feed supplement, with the level of  0% (P1), 2,5%+1,5%+1% (P2), 5%+3%+1% (P3). 7,5%+4,5%+1% (P4), and 10%+6%+1% (P5), respectively.   The parameters observed involved both production technical aspects (final body weight and total  feed consumption) and economic aspects  (revenue, cost, Income over Feed Cost, and total income) of raising broilers fed the commercial diets substituted partially by fermented banana peel + coconut meal + feed supplement.   The results of study showed that administration of  fermented banana peel up to 10% + coconut meal  6% + feed supplement 1%  as partial substitution of  commercial broiler finisher diet during finisher periode was not significant effect (P0.05) on  final body weight and feed consumption.   Substituting commercial diet with fermented banana peel up to 10% + coconut meal 6% + feed supplement 1%  reduced cost and increased IOFC as well as total income.  It was suggested that the best level of substitution of  finisher commercial  diet was 7,5% fermented banana peel + 4,5% coconut meal + 1% feed supplement

Abstract

Buffalo meat is tough because buffalo are usually slaughtered when they are old. Apart from that, the high water and protein content in buffalo meat causes the meat to be easily damaged, which can reduce the quality. To prevent or inhibit a decline in quality, preservation is necessary to produce diversified products. This research aims to determine the effect of using the papain enzyme with different percentages on the water content, cooking loss and organoleptic values of buffalo meat jerky. This research was carried out from November 24 to December 24 2023 at the Meat Processing Science and Technology Laboratory, Animal Husbandry Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, and at the Food and Agricultural Products Analysis Laboratory, Agricultural Products Technology Study Program, Syiah Kuala University, Darussalam, Banda Aceh. This research used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments and 4 replications, with the addition of the papain enzyme, namely (0%, 5%, 10% and 15%). The parameters observed were water content, cooking loss, and organoleptics. (taste, aroma, color, texture and tenderness). The final research results showed that the use of the papain enzyme had a significant effect (P<0.05) on the water content of buffalo meat jerky and tended to increase from P0 to P3. The results of statistical analysis using the papain enzyme had no significant effect (P>0.05) on the cooking loss value The Kruskal Wallis test results also showed that the use of the papain enzyme at different percentages had a significant effect (P<0.05) on taste, but the use of the papain enzyme at different percentages had no effect (P>0.05) on color, aroma, texture. , and tenderness.. The use of 10% papain enzyme (P2) produced meat with the best organoleptic value, water content, and cooking loss.

Abstract

ABSTRAK. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan bahan pakan fermentasi yang terutama tersusun atas tepung limbah ikan leubim dan tepung indigofera sebagai substitusi sebagian ransum komersil ayam petelur terhadap penampilan produksi telur puyuh. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Laboratorium Lapangan Peternakan (LLP), Program Studi Peternakan, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Syiah Kuala selama 10 minggu. Penelitian ini menggunakan 80 ekor puyuh (Coturnix coturnix japonica) betina dara umur 4 minggu. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok terdiri dari 4 perlakuan dan 4 kelompok. Setiap kelompok merupakan unit percobaan yang masing-masing terdiri atas 5 ekor puyuh betina dara. Ransum perlakuan adalah ransum komersil ayam petelur yang disubstitusi dengan bahan pakan campuran fermentasi: 20% tepung limbah ikan leubim + 11% tepung daun indigofera + 45,4% menir + 20% dedak jagung + 3,6% tepung kulit kerang sebanyak 0, 10, 20, dan 30%. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa ransum komersil ayam petelur dapat disubstitusi sampai 30% dengan bahan pakan campuran fermentasi yang tersusun atas tepung limbah ikan leubim 20% + tepung daun indigofera 11% + menir 45,4% + dedak jagung 20% + tepung kulit kerang 3,6% tanpa menurunkan secara nyata produksi, berat dan massa telur, konsumsi dan konversi ransum, serta berat badan akhir dan pertambahan berat badan puyuh.(Egg productions of quails fed the commercial rations partially substituted by fermentation feed ingredients based on the mixture of Leubim fish waste meal and Indigofera sp.)ABSTRACT. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the partial substitution of commercial ration with fermented feed ingredients based on leubim fish (Canthidermis maculata) waste meal and Indigofera sp. meal on the appearance of quail egg production. The research was conducted at the Field Laboratory of Animal Husbandry, Animal Husbandry Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Syiah Kuala University for 10 weeks. The study used 80 female quails (Coturnix-coturnix japonica) at 4 weeks of age. The study was designed into randomized block design consisting of 4 treatments and 4 blocks. Each block was an experimental unit, each consisting of 5 quails. The treatment was commercial ration of laying hens partially substituted by fermented feed ingredients composed of 20% leubim fish waste meal + 11% Indigofera sp. meal + 45.4% broken rice + 20% corn bran + 3.6% clam shell meal as many as 0, 10, 20, and 30%. The results of study showed that commercial ration of laying hens could be substituted up to 30% with a mixture of fermented feed ingredients composed of 20% leubim fish waste meal +11% Indigofera sp. meal + 45.4% broken rice + 20% corn bran + 3.6% clam shell meal without significantly reduced egg production, egg weight, and egg mass, feed consumption and FCR, and final body weight and average body weight gain of quails.

Abstract

ABSTRACT.The objective of this research was determined how far the comparisons of carcass of those three species. This research were used 57 fattening cow. Which consisting of 19 Aceh (SA) cow. 19 Brahman cross (BX) cow and 19 Friesian Holstein (FH), for 90 days observation time. The attributes that observed include: percentage of carcass weight, percentage of meat weight, percentage of added result, percentage of bone weight, percentage of fat. From each of those multi special of cow, considering each of their weight before cutter. The result of this research are: mean ( SE) of their life weight are: SA 316.00 9.68 kg, BX: 410.16 9.53 kg and FH: 414.37 10.12 kg. Mean ( SE) of carcass percentage are: FH: 53.33 0.83%, SA 55.75 0.67% and BX: 56.28 0.74. Mean ( SE) of meat weight percentage : FH: 69.15 0.74%, BX: 70.91 1.18% and SA: 72.67 1.08%. Mean ( SE) of added result percentage: FH: 25.22 0.57%, BX: 25.33 0.47% and SA: 25.74 0.74%. Mean ( SE) of bone weight percentage: SA: 16.75 00.58%, BX: 19.24 0.72% and FH: 20.91 0.74%. Mean (SE) of fat percentage: SA: 6.94 0.75% , BX: 17.84 0.55%, and FH: 8.21 0.49%. The result of T test of SA carcass, meat and fat weight percentage were not significantly different with BX. SA added result percentage was not significantly different with BX and FH. SA bone weight percentage was signicantly different (P 0.05) with BX. SA carcass, meats and fat weight percentage were significantly different (P 0.05) with FH. SA bone weight percentage was not significantly different with FH. Carcass weight percentage of BX was signicantly different (P 0.05) with FH. Meat, added result meat, bones and fat weight percentage of BX were not sifnificantly different with FH.

Abstract

ABSTRACT. A study on the use vegetable oil as energy source in diet to decrease cholestrol concentration of quail egg conducted at exprimental Farm-Syiah Kuala University. The study was designed by Completely Randomized Design., divided into 5 treatments of vegetable oil source; soybean oil; coconut oil, palm oil, corn oil and zaitun oil. Result of present study showed that the difference in vegetable oil source in diet affected cholestrol concentration of quail diet. The use of palm or corn oil in quail diet has a more positive affect to decrease cholestrol concentration of quail egg. Corn oil in diet decrease 18.7 % cholesetrol and 23.8 % LDL compared to coconut oil. Differences in vegetable oil source in diet also significantly affected egg production but dit not affected body weight gain of quail.

Abstract

Studies of physiological bovine somatotropin (bST) on post lactating dairyABSTRACT. To increase of milk production nationally with used in dairy cattle business can assist to increase milk production, eighteen post lactating dairy cows in the highland Cipelang Bogor, were used to study the effect used of bovine somatotropin and lactating time. The experimental cows were assigned into a Randomized Block Design with a 3x2 factorial arrangement. The first factor was using of somatotropin (bST)with three levels (non bST injection, biweekly injection and three weekly injection). The second factor was lactating time with two levels (4th lactating time and 6 th lactating time) Parameters measured were heart rate, respiration frequency, rectal temperature, milk production efficiency, milk production, 4% FCM (fat corrected milk.), Milk composition, weigh gain, milk quality consist of protein, fat, pH. Bovine somatotropin significantly increased heart rate and respiration rate. Also bovine somatotropin injection at 4th lactating time significantly increased milk production. There were an interaction between bST dan lactating time on milk production and weight gain. Bovine somatotropin injection biweekly in cows on 4th lactating time ration increased milk production by 16-26 %, but injection in cows 6th lactating time increased milk production by 8-18 % combination with somatotropin doze 250/ml/14 days. Somatothropine supplementation was injection biweekly and three weekly did significantly affect to milk production, body temperature, heart rate, and respiration rate however in normal physiology . Bovine somatotropine can increase post lactating dairy production interval 14 days better than 21 days.

Abstract

Pemanfaatan limbah pasar, khususnya limbah sayuran, sebagai bahan baku pakan ternak ruminansia menjadi alternatif strategis untuk mengurangi biaya produksi sekaligus menangani permasalahan lingkungan. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memperkenalkan dan mendampingi mitra dalam pembuatan pakan fermentasi berbasis limbah pasar yang diberi nama Vege Compfeed. Kegiatan dilaksanakan di Peternakan Limofarm, Kecamatan Ulee Kareng, Kota Banda Aceh, dengan metode fermentasi pakan komplit yang melibatkan bahan utama berupa limbah sayuran yang dikombinasikan dengan dedak, molases, bungkil inti sawit, dan tepung jagung. Proses fermentasi dilakukan selama 14 hari. Kegiatan ini terdiri dari beberapa tahapan, yaitu koordinasi dengan mitra, sosialisasi pembuatan pakan, pemilahan limbah, fermentasi, serta pendampingan dan monitoring. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa Vege Compfeed dapat diterima oleh ternak setelah melalui tahapan adaptasi. Kegiatan ini juga mendorong penerapan konsep green economy melalui praktik peternakan yang efisien, ramah lingkungan, dan berkelanjutan. Diharapkan, mitra dapat terus memproduksi dan memanfaatkan pakan ini secara mandiri untuk meningkatkan efisiensi usaha dan kemandirian pakan ternak.
