Abstract

Abstrak. Permasalahan yang terjadi saat ini di berbagai peternakan puyuh ialah penyediaan bibit sendiri sebagai indukan dengan cara perkawinan yang ada hubungan kekerabatan dekat (sedarah) tanpa persilangan dengan bibit baru dari luar. Akibatnya bibit-bibit yang dihasilkan dari hasil perkawinan tersebut mengalami kecacatan karena pengaruh inbreeding yang telah melampaui batas. Salah satu upaya untuk meningkatkan kualitas puyuh yaitu dengan dilakukannya perkawinan silang (Cross Breeding) pada indukan puyuh. Perkawinan silang ini sangat baik jika dilakukan antara dua jenis puyuh yang memiliki kelebihan yang berbeda seperti puyuh Jepang (Coturnix coturnix japonica) dan puyuh Hybrid. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh perbedaan rasio indukan puyuh jantan Hybrid dan puyuh betina Jepang (Coturnix coturnix japonica) terhadap kualitas DOQ. Parameter yang diamati yaitu fertilitas, kematian embrio, daya tetas, berat tetas, mortalitas dan rasio DOQ jantan betina. Berdasarkan data hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa perbedaan rasio indukan puyuh Hybrid jantan dan puyuh betina Jepang tidak memberikan pengaruh yang nyata terhadap fertilitas, kematian embrio, daya tetas, berat tetas, mortalitas dan rasio DOQ jantan betina. Meskipun tidak berbeda nyata, fertilitas dan daya tetas tertinggi hasil persilangan puyuh jantan Hybrid dan puyuh betina Jepang (Coturnix coturnix japonica) yaitu pada P4  dengan perbandingan indukan dan pejantan 4:4.(The Effect of Differences in the Ratio of Sires of Male Hybrid Quails and Japanese Female Quails (Coturnix coturnix japonica) to DOQ Quality)Abstract. The problem that is currently occurring at various quail farms is the supply of own seeds as sires by means of marriage that have close kinship (blood) without crossing with new seeds from outside. As a result the seeds produced from the results of the marriage experience disability because of the influence of inbreeding that has exceeded the limit. One effort to improve the quality of quail is by doing cross breeding on quail breeders. Cross - breeding is very good if done between two types of quail that have different advantages such as Japanese quail (Coturnix coturnix japonica) and Hybrid quail. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of differences in the ratio of sires of male hybrid quails and Japanese female quails (Coturnix coturnix japonica) to DOQ quality. The parameters observed were fertility, embryo death, hatchability, hatch weight, mortality and female DOQ ratio. Based on the research data it can be concluded that the differences in the ratio of male hybrid quail and Jap anese quail broodstock did not have a significant effect on fertility, embryo death, hatchability, hatch weight, female DOQ mortality and ratio. Although not significantly different, fertility and highest hatchability were the result of hybrid crosses of male quail and Japanese female quail (Coturnix coturnix japonica), namely in P4 with a 4: 4 sires and male ratio.

Abstract

Abstrak. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan  campuran tepung limbah ikan leubim, tepung indigofera, tepung kulit kerang, menir dan dedak jagung yang difermentasi bersama-sama sebagai substitusi sebagian ransum komersil terhadap  komponen telur puyuh. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Laboratorium Lapangan Peternakan (LLP) dan Laboratorium Ilmu dan Teknologi Produksi Ternak Ungggas, Program Studi Peternakan, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Syiah Kuala, Banda Aceh.  Penelitian ini menggunakan sebanyak 80 ekor puyuh (Coturnix-coturnix japonica) betina dara umur 4 minggu.  Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok  terdiri dari 4 perlakuan dan 4 kelompok.   Ransum perlakuan adalah ransum komersil ayam petelur yang disubstitusi dengan campuran bahan pakan fermentasi terdiri dari  tepung daun indigofera + tepung limbah ikan leubim + menir + dedak jagung + tepung kulit kerang sebanyak 0, 10, 20, dan 30%.   Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan substitusi ransum komersil dengan 30% campuran bahan pakan fermentasi yang tersusun dari 11% tepung daun indigofera + 20% tepung limbah ikan leubim + 45,4% menir + 20% dedak jagung + 3,6% tepung kulit kerang (1) tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap berat telur puyuh, yolk, dan albumen, sedangkan berat kerabang nyata menurun pada substitusi 20% dan (2) tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap persentase yolk,  persentase albumen nyata meningkat, sedangkan persentase kerabang nyata menurun pada substitusi 20%.  Egg Components of  Quails Fed on Commercial Ration Partly Substituted by Fermentation Feed Ingedients Based on Leubim Fish (Canthidermis maculata) Waste Meal and Indigofera sp.Abstract.  The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of  feeding  a mixture of fermentation feed ingredients based on leubim fish waste meal + Indigofera sp. + clam shell meal + broken rice + corn bran as a substitute for a portion of commercial ration on the egg components of quails. The research was conducted at the Animal Husbandry Laboratory (LLP) and Poultry Production Science and Technology Laboratory, Animal Husbandry Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Syiah Kuala University.  This study used 80 female quails (Coturnix-coturnix japonica) aged 4 weeks.  The study was designed into  a randomized block design consisting of 4 treatments and 4 blocks. The treatment was commercial ration of laying hens partly substituted by a mixture of fermentation feed ingredients composed of  11%  Indigofera sp. leaf  meal + 20% leubim fish waste meal + 45.4% broken rice + 20% corn bran + 3.6% clam shell meal as many as 0, 10, 20 and 30%. The results of study showed that replacing 30% commercial rations with  fermented feed ingredients composed of 11% indigofera leaf meal + 20% leubim fish meal + 45.4% broken rice  + 20% corn bran + 3.6% clam shell did not significantly affect  on  whole egg weight of quails.  Yolk and albumen weight were not significantly affected but egg shell weight significantly declined at the  level of  20% replacement.  No significantly effect was detected on yolk percentage;  however albumen percentage significantly increased while egg shell percentage significantly decreased  the  level of  20% replacement

Abstract

Abstark. Penelitian ini telah dilakukakan di Station Riset II Ie Seum, UPT. University Farm, Universitas Syiah Kuala, Aceh Besar. Penelitian berlangsung selama 90 hari, mulai tanggal 22 Mei sampai 14 Agustus 2016. Tujuan dari penelitian ini ialah untuk memanfaatkan limbah feses sapi sebagai pakan alternatif pengganti pakan pelet pabrikan, mengurangi produksi pakan yang tinggi dalam budidaya ikan Nila, dan dalam hal ini memacu pertambahan berat badan ikan Nila. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan terdiri dari 4 ulangan. Perlakuan pemberian subsitusi dari pakan komersial dengan pakan pelet organik sebanyak 0, 10, 20 dan 30%. Parameter yang diamati dalam penelitian ini adalah berat badan, pertambahan berat badan, konsumsi pakan, efisiensi pakan, konversi pakan, kelansungan hidup, pH dan suhu air. Pemberian subtitusi pakan komersial dengan pakan pelet organik berpengaruh sangat nyata (P0,01) terhadap semua parameter yang diamati, yaitu berat badan, pertambahan berat badan, konsumsi ransum, efisiensi ransum, dan konversi ransum. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa subtitusi pakan komersial dengan pakan pelet organik 10-20% dapat digunakan untuk memacu laju pertumbuhan ikan Nila hitam.  Effect of Feeding Cow Waste and Probiotics Feed Manufacturing Natural Materials as for Added Weight of Black Nile Tilapia Fish (Oreochromis Niloticus)Abstract. Research has been dane in Research Station II Ie Seum, UPT. University Farm, Syiah Kuala University, Aceh Besar. The was conducted for 90 days, starting on May 22 until August 14, 2016. The purpose of this study was to use waste as feed for cow dung cost and promote the growth and production of Nile Tilapia. This research used completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and each replication. The treatment was subtitution of commercial diets with organic pellt feed (OPF) with the level of 0, 10, 20, and 30%, respeetively. The parameters observed were final weight, weight gain, feed consumption, feed efficiency, feed conversion, mortality/ life sustainability, pH and water temperature. Results study shwed that feeding organic pellet feed highly significant (P 0.01) affeted on all parameters, sach as final body weight, body weight gain, feed consumption, feed efficiency, and the feed conversion. The results of the study concluded that feeding organic pellet feed with a percentage of 10-20% was betterfor the growth rate of Nile Tilapia

Abstract

Penelitian tentang pengaruh penggunaan limbah feses sapi dan probiotik sebagai bahan pakan pelet terhadap keuntungan usaha pemeliharaan ikan lele dumbo, telah dilakukan di Station Riset II (dua) Ie Suum, UPT. University Farm, Aceh Besar sejak tanggal 22 Mei – 14 Agustus 2016. Tujuan penelitian untuk melihat keuntungan usaha pemeliharaan ikan lele dumbo dengan menggunakan limbah feses sapi dan probiotik  sebagai bahan pakan pelet organik. Penelitian ini menggunakan 800 bibit ikan Lele Dumbo. penelitian berlansung 90 hari. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) terdiri dari 4 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. Perlakuan yang dilakukan adalah penggunaan pakan pelet organik (PPO) dengan level yang berbeda yaitu P0=0%, P1=10%, P2=20%, P3=30% kedalam ransum komersil. Parameter yang diamati meliputi aspek produksi (berat badan akhir dan total konsumsi ransum) dan aspek ekonomis (penerimaan, biaya tetap, biaya variabel, Income over Feed Cost, dan total income). Data parameter produksi yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), jika didapatkan perbedaan yang nyata, dilanjutkan dengan Uji Jarak Berganda Duncan (Steel dan Torrie, 1993). Data  parameter ekonomis dianalisis dengan B/C dan R/C ratio (Sjahrial, 2008). Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa penggunaan ransum komersil dengan pakan pelet organik pada level yang berbeda selama pemeliharan berpengaruh sangat nyata (P0.01) terhadap berat badan dan konsumsi ransum ikan lele dumbo. Penggunaan ransum komersil dengan pakan pelet organik selama pemeliharaan menurunkan biaya ransum dan menaikkan Income Over Feed Cost (IOFC)  dan total income pemeliharaan ikan Lele Dumbo. Pemberian pakan komersil 90% + PPO 10% layak dan menguntungkan dalam pemeliharaan ikan Lele Dumbo. Effect Of The Use Of  Waste Cow Feces And Probiotics As Pellet Feed Ingredient To The Profit Of Maintenance Business Of CatfishResearch on the effect of the use of cow feces waste and probiotics as pellet feed ingredient to the profit of maintenance business of catfish has been conducted in Research Station II (two) Ie Seum, UPT. University Farm, Aceh Besar from May 22, to August 14, 2016. The purpose of this research is to see the profit of  catfish maintenance business by using cow feces waste and probiotics as organic food pellet feed. This research uses 800 catfish seedlings , the studywas done for 90 days. This study used a complete randomized design (RAL) consisting of 4 treatments and 4 replications. Treatment was the used of organic feed pellets (PPO) with different levels as P0 = 0%, P1 = 10%, P2 = 20%, P3 = 30% into commercial ration. The parameters observed production of aspects (final body weight and total  feed consumption) and economic aspects  (revenue, cost, Income over Feed Cost, and total income). The former was analyzed by Analysis of Variance (ANOVA),  if significantly different results were detected, then continued by Duncan's Multiple Range Test (Steel and Torrie, 1993), while the latter was analysis by B/C and R/C ratio (Sjahrial, 2008).  The results of study showed that the use of commercial feed with an organic pellet feed at different levels during maintenance was highly significant (P 0.01) in the body weight and feed intake of catfish. The use of commercial feed with an organic pellet feed for lowering maintenance costs and increase the ration Income Over Feed Cost (IOFC), and total income maintenance catfish. Feeding commercial 90% + PPO 10% viable and profitable in the maintenance catfish.

Abstract

Abstrak : Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat pengaruh penggunaan tepung ampas tahu + tepung kulit telur + feed supplement sebagai subtitusi sebagian ransum komersil terhadap efesiensi ekonomis pemeliharaan ayam kamaras jantan. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Laboratorium Lapangan Peternakan (LLP),   Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Syiah Kuala, tanggal 7 Januari‒16 Maret  2016.  Penelitian ini menggunakan 64 ekor DOC ayam kamaras.  Perlakuan yang dicobakan adalah ransum komersil broiler 512 Bravo yang disubtitusi dengan tepung ampas tahu + tepung kulit telur +  feed supplement sebanyak 0% (P1), 5%+1%+1% (P2), 10%+2%+1% (P3), dan 15%+3%+1% (P4).  Parameter yang diamati adalah berat badan akhir, total konsumsi ransum, Income over Feed Cost (IOFC) dan total income. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa meskipun secara statistik perbedaannya tidak nyata (P0,05), substitusi ransum komersil broiler (512 Bravo) dengan  tepung ampas tahu sampai 15% + tepung kulit telur 3% +  feed supplement 1%  meningkatkan berat badan akhir dan konsumsi ransum ayam kamaras,  menurunkan biaya variabel ransum, dan total biaya, dan meningkatkan Income over Feed Cost (IOFC) dan total income pemeliharaan ayam kamaras. Substitusi ransum komersil broiler (512 Bravo) dengan  tepung ampas tahu sampai 15% + tepung kulit telur 3% + feed supplement  1%  layak dan menguntungkan dalam pemeliharaan ayam kamaras. The Economic Efficiency of  Raising Male Kamaras Chicken with the Administration of  Tofu Waste Meal + Egg Shell Meal + Feed Supplement       Abstract :  The purpose of  this study was to determine  effect of  the use of  tofu waste meal + egg shell meal + feed supplement as a partial substitution of broiler commercial ration to the economic efficiency of raising male kamaras chickens. The research was conducted at the Field Lab, Department of Animal Husbandry, Agricultural Faculty,  Syiah Kuala University,    January 7 to March 16, 2016.  The study used 64 DOC of male kamaras chickens.   The treatment tested was feeding male kamaras chickens with broiler commercial rations substituted by tofu waste meal + egg shell meal + feed supplement as much as 0% (P1), 5%+1%+1% (P2), 10%+2%+1% (P3), and 15%+3%+1% (P4), respectively.   Parameters measured were final body weight (FBW),  total feed consumption (TFC), and Income Over Feed Cost (IOFC) as well as total income. The results of study showed that although statistically no significant effects were detected (P0.05),   using tofu waste meal up to 15% + egg shell meal 3% + feed supplement 1% as a partial substitution of broiler commercial rations tended to increase final body weight and total feed consumption of male kamaras chickens.  Administration of  these meal mixes was  profitable, reduced cost and increased Income over Feed Cost (IOFC),  and total income in raising of  male kamaras chickens

Abstract

Abstrak.  Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui penampilan produksi telur Ayam Lokal Petelur Unggul (ALPU) yang diberi bahan pakan fermentasi  yang tersusun dari indigofera (Indigofera sp),  dedak padi, dedak jagung, dan bungkil kedelai sebagai substitusi sebagian ransum komersil.  Penelitian ini dilakukan di Laboratorium Lapangan Peternakan (LLP), Univeritas Syiah Kuala tanggal 16 Februari‒30 Mei 2017.  Penelitian ini menggunakan 48 ekor ALPU.  Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap terdiri dari 4 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. Ransum perlakuan adalah ransum komersil yang disubstitusi dengan bahan pakan fermentasi berbasis 15% indigofera sebanyak  0, 5, 10, dan 15%.   Berdasarkan hasil penelitian  disimpulkan bahwa bahan pakan fermentasi berbasis indigofera dapat digunakan sampai 15%  tanpa berpengaruh nyata (P0,05) terhadap produksi   dan massa telur ayam ALPU. Performances of Egg Production of  ALPU Chickens  Fed Fermented Feed Based on Indigofera spAbstract.   The objective of this study was to determine effect of inclusion of fermentation feed constituted of 15%  Indigofera sp + 40% rice bran+ 25% corn bran + 20% soybean meal as partial substitution of commercial diet  on egg production of selected native chickens.   As many as 48 selected native pullets were used in this study.  The study was performed in to completely randomized design, consisted of  4 treatments and 4 replications.  Replication was an experimental unit consisted of 3 birds.   The results of study indicated that including of 15% fermentation feed based on 15% Indigofera sp could be used up to 15% to  substitute commercial diet without adverse effect on egg production of selected native chickens.  It was supposed that using fermentation feed based on 15% Indigofera sp had no adverse effect on egg production and egg mass.

Abstract

Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memanfaatkan limbah asal feses sapi sebagai bahan pembuatan pakan pelet guna memacu pertumbuhan ikan Lele Dumbo.  Penelitian ini dilakukan di Station Riset II (dua) Ie Suum, UPT. University Farm, Aceh Besar,  tanggal 22 Mei‒14 Agustus 2016. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) terdiri dari 4 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. Setiap ulangan merupakan unit percobaan, masing-masing terdiri dari 50 ekor ikan Lele Dumbo. Perlakuan menggunakan pakan komersil ikan 781 Hiprovite yang disubtitusikan dengan pakan pelet organik. Parameter yang diamati adalah berat badan, pertambahan berat badan, konsumsi pakan, konversi pakan, efisiensi pakan, kelangsungan hidup, dan kualitas air (pH, suhu, kelembaban, cahaya). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perlakuan pakan limbah asal feses sapi berpengaruh sangat nyata (P0.01), terhadap berat badan, pertambahan berat badan, dan konsumsi ransum ikan Lele Dumbo, namun tidak berpengaruh nyata (P0,05)  terhadap konversi dan efisiensi pakan. Dari hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa pakan pelet organik asal feses sapi dapat memacu pertumbuhan ikan Lele Dumbo. Utilization of Cattle Feces as Materials for Pellet Feed to The Weight Gain of Catfish Abstract. The aim of present study was to utilizase cattle feces as materials for making organic pellet feed to improve the growth of catfish.  The study was conducted  in Station Research II (two) Ie Seum Unit, University Farm, Aceh Besar, May 22-August 14, 2016. The study was designed into completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments and 4 replications. Each relication was an experimental unit consisting of 50 catfishes.The treatment was substition of commercial feed fish (781 Hiprovite) with  organic pellet feed with the level of 0, 10, 20, and 30%, respectively.  Parameters  measured were body weight, feed intake, feed conversion, feed efficiency,  livebility, and water quality  (pH, temperature, moisture, light). The results of study showed that administration of organic pellet feed  affected highly significant (P0.01) on body weight, body weight gain and feed intake of catfish. However, there were no significant effect (P0.05) on feed conversion and feed efficiency.  It was concluded that the organic pellet feed composed mainly from cattle feces could  improve the growth of catfish

Penelitian ini bertujuan mempelajari pengaruh pemberian kombinasi pakan fermentasi dengan multi enzim pencernaan dan vitamin E dalam ransum komersial terhadap peningkatan kualitas semen ayam arab. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok (RAK) yang terdiri dari 4 kelompok perlakuan dengan 5kali ulangan. 1) kontrol (P0) ayam diberikan ransum komersial 100 %, 2) perlakuan 1 (P1) ayam diberi 89,83% ransum komersial + 10% pakan fermentasi + 0,15% multi enzim + 0,02% vitaminE, (3) perlakuan 2 (P2) ayam diberi 79,83% ransum komersial + 20% pakan fermentasi + 0,15% multi enzim + 0,02% vitamin E, dan (4) perlakuan 3 (P3) ayam diberi 69,83% ransum komersial + 30% pakan fermentasi + 0,15% multi enzim + 0,02% vitamin E. Koleksi semen dilakukan pada hari ke 36 dengan metode masase. Data kualitas semen yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan menggunakan analysis of variance (ANOVA) satu arah yang dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pemberian kombinasi pakan fermentasi dengan multi enzim dan vitamin E dalam ransum komersial berpengaruh secara nyata (P0,05) terhadap peningkatan volume, pH semen, konsentrasi spermatozoa, motilitas, spermatozoa hidup, dan penurunan abnormalitas ayam arab, namun tidak berbeda nyata (P0,05) terhadap warna, konsistensi dan gerakan massa spermatozoa. Dapat disimpulkan pemberian kombinasi pakan fermentasi dengan multi enzim dan vitamin E dalam ransum komersial dapat meningkatkan kualitas semen ayam arab.(Effect addition of fermented feed with the multi-enzyme digestion and vitamin E in commercial feed on improvement the quality of semen arab chicken)ABSTRACT. The study aimed to determine the effect of fermented feed combination with the multi enzymes digestion and vitamin E addition on the quality of semen arabs chicken. This research used a randomized block design (RAK) consisting four treatments with five replications : P0: 100% Commercial feed (524), P1: 89.83% commercial feed + 10% fermented feed + 0.02% viamint E + 0.15% multi enzyme, P2: 79.83% commercial feed + 20% fermented feed + 0.02% vitamin E + 0.15% multi enzyme, P3: 69.83% commercial feed + 30% fermented feed + 0.02% vitamin E + 0.05% multi enzyme. Semen sample was collected at 36th day using a massage method. Data obtained were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and continued by Duncan test. The results showed that addition of combination of fermented feed with digestive multi enzymes and vitamin E has significantly effect (P0,05) on increases of the volume, pH, spermatozoa concentration, percentage of spermatozoa motility, spermatozoa life, and decreased the percentage of spermatozoa abnormalities. This research can be concluded that the addition of fermented feed combination with digestive multi enzymes and vitamin E able to improve the quality of arab chicken semen.

Abstract

The response of local meat chicken growth to supplementation of isolated grain protein and the difference in ration protein levelABSTRACT. A research which aims to determine the response of local meat chicken growth of protein supplementation with Isolation Grains Protein (IGB) and the difference in ration protein level has been conducted in the Laboratory of Experimental Farm, Animal Husbandry Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Syiah Kuala University-Darussalam, Banda Aceh for 90 days. This study used a completely randomized design factorial with 2 factors, consisting of factors namely male gender (JJ) and female (JB) and the ration is a combination of factors and levels IGB in the ration, ie: treatment A: 17% protein and 0.4% IGB; treatment B 19% protein and 0.6% IGB and treatment C 21% protein and 0.8% IGB. Each combination consisted of 4 replications and each replication consists of 5 chickens. Parameters observed in the study were weight gain, achievement of final weight, consumption, conversion and efficiency of ration. DOC used a derivative result of selection of local meat chicken which are in the process of selection. Data acquired and processed by ANOVA.The results showed that supplementation of IGB and ration protein level difference was significantly effect (P 0.01) on weight gain, final weight, rate of consumption, conversion efficiency of rations and rations, but there is no interaction effect between sex and ration factors . The highest weight gain obtained in the male local chicken achieved by feeding a ration B (93.23 grams), while the hen rations achieved by providing treatment C (63.86 grams / week). The highest final body weight of male chicken on treatment B (1491.5 gram/90 days) and hens in treatment C (1061.5 gram/90 days). However, the highest ration consumption in both male and female local chickens obtained from the ration A. Feed conversion value and the best feed efficiency obtained in treatment B for the treatment of male and C for female chicken. The study concluded that there were different responses between male and female local chickens of the use of IGB in the rations. In male local chicken, IGB is more effective when added in the ration with a protein level of 19% whereas in female at the protein level of 21%.

Abstract

Separation of spermatozoa with x and y chromosome at boer goat and its application by artificial insemination for kid sex purposeABSTRACT. The purposes of this experiment are to investigate the separation of X and Y spermatozoa by measuring the spermatozoa quality, sex ratio between X and Y, capacity of fertility indicated by conception rate and sex ratio of goat boar kids. Samples, used in this experiment, are fresh semen from Boer goat with high quality consists of 4 group treatments with 6 replications 1) group of spermatozoa without separation (control), 2) group of spermatozoa separated by percoll gradient density centrifugation 3 levels (P1), 5 levels (P2) and swine up (P3). The observed parameters are spermatozoa quality, X and Y spermatozoa ratio, fertilitys capacity and sex ratio on the birth. Quality examination of spermatozoa and identify X and Y spermatozoa is based on the standard method of WHO. The conception rate was based on the ratio of pregnant goat after the first insemination. Data of spermatozoa quality and spermatozoa ratio were analyzed by using analisis of variance (ANOVA) and further analysis by LSD if there were differences between treatments. The results of this experiment showed that spermatozoa quality Boer goat significantly reduced (p0,05) after separation with percoll gradient density centrifugation and swim up. Percentage spermatozoa X after percoll gradient density centrifugation was significantly higher (P0,05) compared to control and swim up. Meanwhile, the Y spermatozoa population was significantly higher (P0,05) after swim up treatment compared to percoll gradient density centrifugation and control. The percentage of sex ratio (male: female) after insemination from percoll gradient density centrifugation produced more female than male. On the other hand, insemination from swim up produced more male than female. Sex ratio produced from separation of percoll gradient density centrifugation, swim up was difference from control semen (P0,05). From this experiment, it was concluded that spermatozoa separation by percoll gradient density centrifugation and swim up can be used as one of the methods to separate X and Y spermatozoa and further can be applied to get preferred sex animals.
