Abstract

Abstract

Nila fish (Oreochromis niloticus) is one of the leading commodities in freshwater fish cultivation in Indonesia is a freshwater fish commonly found in Indonesian waters. Media will be the main obstacle in cultivating tilapia on idle land (land that cannot be operated). Different water media influence the physiological responses of tilapia fish. The purpose of this activity is to determine the effect of differences in freshwater, brackish water and sea water media on the physiological response of tilapia fish. The parameters of this research are differences in water media, physical factors of the media, survival of tilapia fish, respiration rate of tilapia fish, mobility of tilapia fish, weight of tilapia fish and flexibility of tilapia scales. This study used quantitative methods with a completely randomized design (RAL). The collection technique makes observations. Data were analyzed using ANOVA with a significance level of 5%. The results of this study show that differences in the aquatic environment significantly affect the physiological response of tilapia. Where in sea water the fish mortality rate is quite high compared to fresh water and brackish water.

Abstract

Ghost crabs are one of the arthropod animals that live in coastal ecosystems and are one of the key species that have a very important role in maintaining ecological balance. Here the author refers to the abundance of ghost crabs and the types of food eaten by ghost crabs, this is because there are still many who do not know about the types of ghost crab hands and the abundance of ghost crab hands and the abundance of ghost crabs on an east aceh beach. The type of research used was quantitative research with a random sampling method which was carried out on November 25 2023. From the results of this crab density research, there were 100 individuals with a translation size of 254M and a density index of 1,96 D at 40 54’’ 9’ N 970 51’’ 2’ T. Aceh Regency Timur, the types of food for ghost crabs are Zooplankton, Phytoplankton and Bacterioplankton. The conclusion of this research is that the existence of this crab population is greatly influenced by the condition of the beach which is its habitat. Natural beaches usually find many ghost crabs because the food chain process is still maintained.

Abstract

There are differences on the surface of red blood cell membranes in the types of carbohydrates and proteins that make a person's blood unique, known as blood types. Blood grouping using the ABO system is determined by the absence of antigen A or antigen B in the blood. The presence of A antibodies or B antibodies in red blood cells and serum/plasma. This research was conducted at the Biology Education Research Program, FKIP, Samudra University. This research was conducted from 14 to 24 November 2023. This type of research was qualitative with the slide test method. The parameters observed were the types of blood groups in various samples of 30 students. The results of this study showed that there were more O+ blood types compared to the others, O+ got 46.6% while the others, such as blood type A, were only 16.6% of 30 samples, blood group B was only 33.3% of 30 samples and the last one was the highest. The small number, namely blood type AB+, only reached 3.33% of 30 samples.

Abstract

Betta fish (Betta sp.) is a type of ornamental fish that has unique characteristics compared to other ornamental fish. This research was carried out in November 2023 with the aim of finding out the behavioral patterns of Betta fish when exposed to different types of light. This research used a quantitative method with a (RAL). The results of the research showed that there were changes in behavior in Betta fish (Betta sp.) that had been given different colored lights. The reason why fish are attracted to light is, among other things, because fish have positive phototaxis properties which cause fish to be stimulated and attracted to gather at light sources. In this research, it can be seen that the movement of betta fish moves away from the light source, because the light coming out of the lamp will become hot if it is turned on for too long. If this goes on for a long time, it is feared that the fish will become bored and also experience stress.

Abstract

Background: Langsa Urban Forest Park is a protected forest area that serves as a natural habitat for various flora and fauna, both wild and cultivated. One of the organisms that can be found there is an insect from the suborder Rhopalocera, namely butterflies. Butterflies play a very important role in supporting ecosystem balance and biodiversity. This study aims to determine the diversity and dominance indices of Rhopalocera suborder (butterflies) species in Langsa City Forest Park, Aceh. The study used observation methods during the rainy season. Methodology: Sampling was conducted using purposive sampling methods across three locations with varying environmental conditions and vegetation characteristics. Sampling was conducted using sweep net techniques with insect nets at the research sites. The quantitative descriptive analysis calculated was the diversity index and species dominance of butterflies. Findings: The Rhopalocera species found in Langsa City Forest Park consisted of 41 species belonging to 5 families The dominant family found is Nymphalidae, while the dominant species found is Leptosia nina from the Pieridae family. The overall Rhopalocera diversity index (H` = 3.10) falls into the high category, and all three research sites have moderate diversity indices. The highest diversity was found at Site I (H` = 2.86), which has a variety of plant vegetation and is near a lake. Meanwhile, the lowest diversity was found at location II, which is dominated by tree vegetation. Vegetation diversity creates habitats that support butterfly species development, while homogeneous vegetation structures can limit the availability of food sources and habitats, resulting in low species diversity. The species dominance index is included in low category. The diversity of Rhopalocera (butterflies) and their habitats is crucial to preserve in efforts to conserve the Langsa City Forest Park ecosystem. Contribution: this study are expected to provide useful information for the management and conservation of the area, as well as to raise public awareness about the importance of preserving biodiversity
