Abstract

The diversification limitation of exploiting tempe as an alternative nugget raw materials, substitution of meat and fish, and also to optimalize the very abundance resource, so it is necessary to do the right processing to the alternative food resource, which meant to give an additional point. Produce a liked product, also the adjustment of technology, and the cost that reached by the society.          The aim of this reseach is to know the kind of glue material which can produce nugget tempe with the best chemical and organoleptic propertics. This research consit of 4 treatment; A1 (tempe nugget from bread powder), A2 (tempe nugget from tapioca), A3 (tempe nugget from sagu), A4 (tempe nugget maizena powder). Water convcentration analyse using oven method. Product was tested by organoleptic test (taste, smell, and tecsture).          The result on water concentration analyse, that the smallest water concentration shown by A2  about 161,55% between from treatment A1 abaout 191,75%, A3 abaout 180,02% and A4 182, 45%. The result on organoleptic the teste of A1 product is the most like (75 %) between A2, A3 and A4 treatment. The smell of A2, A3 and A4 is the must like (67 %). And the best tecsture is all treatment.The result of this research is expected to give benefit in supporting the effort saking the alternative nugget glue material by using tempe which owning a high nutrition value. This research it is expected to find a kind if nugget tempe with the good glue, good taste and high nutrition value

Abstract

The important reason is that botanical insecticides didn’t cause environmental damage and not harmful to human health. As we know, tobacco leaf extract is one of many plant extract that use as botanical insecticides. It can kill fruit fly (Drossophyla melanogaster) that suck domestic plant. On the other hand tobacco leaves extract use as wound therapy also. Those effects   are caused of the chemical compound such as alkaloid, saponyn, flavonoid and polyfenol.The objective of this study is to know the impact of tobacco leaf extract to development of D. melanogaster. Beside that, we observe the effective volume that causes optimal impact. Therefore we mix four type of tobacco leaf extract on D. melanogaster medium. In this case we apply 10 ml (P1), 20 ml (P2), 30 ml (P3) and 0 (P0). Then we observe the mortality. Further the mortality data is compiling by F analysis and LSD.The result shows that tobacco leaf extract caused negative impact to development of fruit fly on all stage of D. melanogaster (larvae, pupae, adult). The most effective impact seems on P3. Hopefully, the result of this study might useful to farmer that use botanical insecticide especially tobacco leaf user. So, user will have more advantages, because it didn’t harmful to human health and environmental.

Abstract

Dalam penelitian ini kami mengevaluasi antioksidan dan aktivitas antibakteri biji Swietenia mahagoni dengan menggunakan berbagai jenis pelarut. Ekstrak disaring untuk menguji aktivitas antioksidan radikal bebas scavenging 2,2- difenil -1-Pikril hydrazyl (DPPH). Total fenol juga telah ditentukan. Ekstrak metanol dari biji Swietenia mahagoni menunjukkan aktivitas DPPH tertinggi (60.89 %), bila dibandingkan dengan ekstrak  metanol 70 % (60,77 %), etanol 100 % (58,85 %), etanol 70 % (59.87 %) dan aseton 100% (46.54 %). Jumlah kandungan fenol ditentukan dengan teknik spektrofotometri, menggunakan reagen Folin-Ciocalteau. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etanol 100% memiliki kandungan fenolik yang lebih tinggi (67 mg/g sampel ) dibandingkan dengan jenis pelarut lain (etanol 70 %: 65 mg/g sampel, metanol 100 %: 63 mg/g sampel, metanol 70 %: 55 mg/g sampel , aseton 100%: 54 mg/g sampel). Aktivitas antibakteri terhadap bakteri Gram-positif (Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus) dan bakteri Gram-negatif (E. coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa) diuji berdasarkan zona penghambatan dengan metode difusi disk. Streptomisin sebagai antibakteri standar (kontrol positif). Hasil menunjukkan bahwa biji Swietenia mahagoni dengan ekstraksi pelarut metanol, etanol dan aseton memiliki efek penghambatan terhadap pertumbuhan Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus, E. coli dan Pseudomonas aeruginosa pada konsentrasi 100 mg/ml.

Abstract

This research is including pre experiment with aim to know improvement of activity of biological learning and improvement result of learning through applying of method peer group teaching. Research is done in class X SMA Negeri 3 Makassar at school year odd semester 2008/2009. Research design applied is pretest and post test group design. Before study with method peer group teaching, student is given pretest to know initial ability of student. Research data in the form of student activity is gathered by using observation sheet and data result of learning is gathered by using test result of learning is in the form of multiple choice. Data activity is analysed qualitatively while data result of pretest and post test is analysed with t-test. Result of research indicates that there are improvement significant between result of student learning before and after applying of method peer group teaching as well as existence of improvement of activity of student during study takes place.   Keywords: learning, peer group teaching, learning achievement, student activity

Abstract

This research purpose to know the impact of long fermentation with yeast to suweg tuber to know the value of dissolve glucose. The dissolve glucose between times of fermentation about 24 hours, 48 hours and 72 hours. This research used free variable which was long fermentation and bound variable is glucose value of flour in suweg tuber fermentated. To know the impact of this research, used the "RAL" method. Certainly of glucose value do with Anthrone method used spectrophotometer. The result of research pointed long impact fermentation in glucose value of suweg tuber fermentated. Value of dissolve glucose in suweg tuber fermentated has times of fermentation about 24 hours, 57,77 ppm: 48 hours 76,60 ppm and 72 hours 98,19. At last it should conslused that as long as fermentation (72 hours) make highest glucose (98,19 ppm
