Abstract

An emergency condition of carrdiact arrest is one of the threats that requires immediate treatment/assistance by the person who first finds the victim because the golden period for an emergency is a maximum of 10 minutes. Therefore, the community as first responders really needs to have knowledge and skills in providing assistance. The purpose of this mentoring is to increase the knowledge of teachers in Barisallo Village Kel. Parangloe Kab. Gowa. The method used is the lecture method using leaflet media and simulation using an emergency manikin and splints. This activity was carried out for 6 days. The results of the activities include the planning, implementation and evaluation stages. From the results of the service, there are still many people, especially teachers, and there are still many people who do not know how to provide first aid in emergency conditions. So from that basis, community service is about efforts to increase teacher knowledge and skills to prevent death or disability. It is hoped that health workers will be more active in conducting health education, especially in Barisallo Village, Kec. Parangloe.

Abstract

A woman's regular monthly menstruation is positive indicator of health. However, majority of women have negative effects from symptoms arising during the second half of the menstrual cycle. This study aims to determine the effect of serotonin on mood changes in adolescent girls suffering from PMS and who don't. This research was conducted in April-July 2023 at Darul Arqam in Makassar. The research used a cross-sectional design with a sample size of 48 young women consisting of two groups, 24 groups with PMS and 24 without PMS, selected using purposive sampling. Mann-Whitney and Kruskall-Wallis analyses were used to examine the effect of serotonin on changes in mood and menstrual patterns in adolescent girls with and without PMS. The finding showed that there were differences in serotonin levels between groups of women who experienced PMS and those who did not experience PMS, with a value of p=0.012 p<α=0.05. The findings showed an influence of serotonin levels in the group of women who experienced PMS on mood changes (p = 0.001). In the group of women who did not experience PMS, serotonin levels did not influence mood changes (p = 0.875). Serotonin influences mood changes in women who experience PMS. However, serotonin does not have positive or negative effects on women who have not experienced PMS. There are differences in serotonin levels between women who experience PMS and those who don't. This study recommends to explore alternative treatment options for managing PMS symptoms that do not rely solely on serotonin regulation.

Abstract

Maternal emergencies remain one of the leading causes of maternal morbidity and mortality; therefore, preventive efforts through adequate nutritional management during pregnancy are of paramount importance. The husband’s role in supporting pregnant women, particularly by understanding and ensuring adherence to proper dietary practices, is crucial in reducing the risk of complications. This study aimed to analyze the effect of information exposure on husbands’ knowledge regarding maternal emergency prevention through dietary pattern management. A cross-sectional design was employed in April 2025, involving 399 husbands residing in Makassar City and Gowa District, selected using accidental sampling. Data were collected online using a structured questionnaire that assessed sources of information, frequency of exposure, accessibility, and activeness in seeking information. The chi-square test was applied for statistical analysis. The results revealed that information exposure had a significant effect on husbands’ knowledge (p < 0,0001), including aspects of information sources, frequency of exposure, accessibility, and activeness in seeking information. In conclusion, improving the quality and accessibility of nutritional information for husbands plays an essential role in supporting maternal emergency prevention through the optimization of dietary patterns during pregnancy.
