Abstract

The sperm is very fragile to lipid peroxide reaction, that it can easily broken during the process of freezing. To eliminate this consequences an antioxidant agent added into the extender. A research was done to observe the effect of antioxidant agent α-tocoferrol and butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) presence in the extender on the quality of frozen semen. Once week, semen from six male Garut sheep ages about 2.5 years old was collected using artificial vagina and egg yolk skim-milk diluent used as the extender. The semen were treated in egg yolk skim-milk diluent without antioxidant as control, in egg yolk skim-milk diluent with α- tocoferrol 0,2 g/100 ml diluent and in egg yolk skim-milk diluent with butylated hydroxytoluene 0,2 g/100 ml diluent. The after thawing observation shown that in egg yolk skim-milk diluent with α- tocoferrol had life percentage (75.0 ± 3.5% vs 64.8 ± 7.8%) and membrane intact percentage (65.8 ± 6.8 % vs 55.2 ± 8.3%) significantly higher than control (P<0,05) but insignificantly different from with BHT addition. The presence of α-tocoferrol in the diluent, the motility percentage consideraly higher (P<0.05) than (45.8 ± 3.8%) using BHT addition (40.0 ± 4.5%) but not different from control (41.7 ± 4.1%); while acrosomal intake percentage after α-tocoferrol (54.8% ± 3.3%) expressively higher (p,0.05) than BHT addition (49.7 ± 3.6%) or control (49.8 ± 3.5%). In conclusion the presence of α-tocoferrol in the diluent could improve the quality of Garut sheep frozen semen. Key words: Antioxidant, sperm, Garut sheep

Abstract

Sehingga menghambat proses pelayanan paspor.

Abstract

This research examines the impact of the Houthi rebellion on maritime security in the Red Sea, a critical corridor for global trade. The background of the research highlights the importance of the Red Sea as a vital trade route between Asia, Europe and Africa, and the security challenges posed by the activities of the Houthi rebels, who often target commercial vessels and maritime infrastructure. The purpose of this research is to analyze how Houthi activities affect maritime security and regional and global geopolitical dynamics, and to recommend response mechanisms that can strengthen stability and security in the Red Sea. The research methodology uses a qualitative approach with a case study, where data was collected through literature review and analyzed using content analysis to identify themes, patterns, and relationships in the data. The findings show that Houthi activities have disrupted trade routes, increased the risk of military confrontation, and affected regional and global stability. The study's conclusions underscore the importance of a more coordinated and multilateral approach to addressing the challenges posed by the Houthis, including increased maritime patrols, active diplomacy, and local capacity building. Strategic recommendations include joint patrols, inclusive political dialogue, and the development of strong international legal tools to protect shipping lanes and reduce security incidents.

Abstract

This study examines the issue of plagiarism within Indonesia's graduate education system, highlighting its impact on academic integrity and the overall quality of education. Plagiarism, defined as the use of others' work without proper attribution, is increasingly common due to advances in technology and widespread access to information. This paper investigates the factors contributing to plagiarism among graduate students, including individual motivations, lack of understanding about proper citation, and external pressures such as lenient institutional policies and limited supervision. The study uses a qualitative literature review, incorporating findings from recent academic research and relevant legal regulations, to analyze these contributing factors and propose strategies for improvement. Key recommendations include strengthening institutional policies, providing comprehensive training on citation practices, and integrating anti-plagiarism software to ensure academic honesty. The findings underscore the need for a sustained commitment to fostering a culture of integrity and originality within Indonesian graduate programs. By addressing these issues, educational institutions can enhance student competence and maintain the credibility of Indonesian higher education in an increasingly globalized academic environment.
