Abstract

The stunting management program must be carried out by multi-sectoral collaboration and involving community engagement. Individual empowerment of cadres can improve program outcomes. This study aimed to analyze the individual empowerment of cadres in community empowerment programs to overcome stunting. This study used quasi-experimental study with 40 respondents that selected by purposive sampling method. The data collection carried out by focus group discussion interview and individual community-related empowerment (ICRE) questionnaires. Statistics analysis using Paired t-test and 95% confidence intervals. The results of the analysis showed that all component in individual empowerment indicated that there was significant influence in empowerment program on improving individual empowerment cadre with p-value 0,000 in intention, participation, and critical awareness. Meanwhile the self-efficacy component obtained a p-value 0,001 and motivation 0,003. The results proves that the involvement of cadres in the stages of community empowerment can effectively improve community engagement and individual empowerment for the community health cadres. The provision of adequate training and supervision for health cadres is important in order to improve their role in community. Abstrak: Program penanggulangan stunting harus dilakukan dengan melibatkan kerjasama multisector dan keterlibatan masyarakat. Pemberdayaan kader secara individu dapat meningkatkan luaran dan keberhasilan program. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tingkat pemberdayaan individu kader dalam program pemberdayaan masyarakat untuk mengatasi stunting. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian quasy-experimental dengan 40 responden yang dipilih dengan metode purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara focus group discussion dan kuesioner individual community-related empowerment (ICRE). Analisis statistik menggunakan Paired t-test dengan interval kepercayaan 95%. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa semua setelah mengikuti program pemberdayaan masyarakat, terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap peningkatan semua komponen pemberdayaan individu dengan p-value 0,000 pada intensi, partisipasi, dan kesadaran kritis. Sedangkan komponen self-efficacy diperoleh p-value 0,001 dan motivasi 0,003. Hasil penelitian membuktikan bahwa keterlibatan kader dalam tahapan pemberdayaan masyarakat dapat secara efektif meningkatkan keterlibatan masyarakat dan pemberdayaan individu bagi kader kesehatan masyarakat. Pemberian pelatihan dan pengawasan yang memadai bagi kader kesehatan penting untuk meningkatkan peran mereka di masyarakat

Abstract

The increasing of older adults population concomitant with the increasing of chronic non-communicable diseases. Chronic non-communicable diseases can have an impact on the quality of life of the older adults. Chronic non-communicable diseases require long-term management through self-management. This study aimed to analyze the Self Help Group (SHG) intervention towards self-management and quality of life for older adults with chronic non-communicable diseases. The research method was Quasi Experimental pre-post test with control group on 120 respondents selected by purposive sampling. The inclusion criteria were age more than 60 years, had DM or gout, communicating well, capable to read and write. The SHG intervention hold on four meetings is a group activity of fellow sufferers to share problems and experiences. The instruments were the self-management behavior questionnaire and WHOQOL-BREF. The results of the Mann Whitney test showed p=value of 0.000 which mean that there was a significant difference between self-management and quality of life in the control group and the SHG intervention group. The conclusion was that SHG influenced self-management and quality of life among older adults with chronic non-communicable diseases. Need to apply self help group regularly among chronic non-communicable disease patients. Abstrak: Peningkatan lansia seiring dengan peningkatan penyakit tidak menular kronis. Penyakit tidak menular kronis dapat berdampak pada kualitas hidup lansia. Penyakit tidak menular kronis memerlukan penatalaksanaan jangka panjang melalui manajemen diri. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis penerapan Self Help Group (SHG) pada manajemen diri dan kualitas hidup lansia dengan penyakit tidak menular kronis. Metode penelitian adalah Quasi Exsperimental pre-post test with control group pada 120 responden yang dipilih dengan purposive sampling. Kriteria inklusi yaitu usia lebih dari 60 tahun, mengalami DM atau gout, dapat berkomunikasi, dapat membaca dan menulis. Intervensi SHG selama empat kali pertemuan merupakan kegiatan kelompok sesama penderita untuk berbagi masalah dan pengalaman. Instrumen yaitu self-management behaviour questionnaire dan WHOQOL-BREF. Hasil uji mann whitney menunjukkan p=value 0.000 yang bermakna terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara manajemen diri dan kualitas hidup pada pada kelompok control dan kelompok intervensi SHG. Kesimpulan yaitu adanya pengaruh SHG pada manajemen diri dan kualitas hidup lansia dengan penyakit tidak menular kronis. Perlu mengaplikasikan SHG secara teratur pada pasien dengan penyakit tidak menular kronis.

Abstract

The distance learning process using mobile phone (gadget) and internet is one of the strategies implemented to keep the learning process going even during the covid-19 pandemic. This method increases the use of gadgets and the internet in elementary school students which can caused a gadget addiction. Dependence on these gadgets causes obesity problems, sleep pattern disturbances, decreased brain and eye function, growth and development disorders and even mental problem. Psychoeducation is a strategy that can be applied to reduce gadget addiction. Psychoeducational activities are carried out by providing material for 45 minutes which is adjusted to the tendency of the five senses used in receiving student information with the Primary System instrument. Classes will be divided into two groups, visual and auditory. Evaluation of psychoeducational activities was carried out after three days of psychoeducational activities by measuring the level of student addiction to gadgets with the Smartphone Addiction Scale-Short Version instrument (SAS). Psychoeducational activities have been proven to reduce the level of gadget addiction at school, marked by a decrease in SAS-VS scores after psychoeducation with a p value of 0.001 (0<0.005). The results of the activity show the importance of educational activities to reduce children's gadget addiction. The next suggestion is that parents' participation is also needed to facilitate children to carry out other activities so that children are not dependent on the use of gadgets.

Abstract

Gouty arthritis can cause severe pain and other symptoms, that interfere with the activities and enthusiasm of the participants in carrying out disease treatment programs. Therefore, efforts are needed to increase the self-efficacy of sufferers. Self-Help Groups are a type of group therapy that can help exchange experiences and information about disease care and increase emotional support that motivates sufferers to gain self-confidence. This study aims to analyze the effect of implementing a self-help group on the self-efficacy of people with gouty arthritis. This study used a quasi-experimental design with pretests and posttests in the control group. The total sampling technique collected 60 people with gouty arthritis from the Dau Public Health Center in Malang Regency. Data was collected using the Arthritis Self-Efficacy Scale (ASES) questionnaire to assess the respondents' self-efficacy before and after the intervention. The data analysis process used a statistical approach. Paired Sample t-test and Independent Sample t-test by performing the normality and homogeneity tests with Shapiro-Wilk. There was a significant difference in self-efficacy of people with gouty arthritis after participating in a self-help group, according to the findings. It is recommended that the self-help group become a group activity that continues to be carried out for patients with chronic diseases at the public health centers. Abstrak: Gout arthritis dapat mengakibatkan nyeri hebat dan gejala lain, yang mengganggu aktivitas dan semangat penderita dalam menjalankan program perawatan penyakit. Maka dibutuhkan upaya untuk meningkatkan efikasi diri para penderita. Self Help Group merupakan terapi kelompok yang dapat memfasilitasi terjadinya proses bertukar pengalaman serta informasi mengenai perawatan penyakit, dan meningkatkan dukungan emosional yang memotivasi para penderita, sehingga dapat meningkatkan keyakinan akan kemampuan diri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh pelaksanaan Self Help Group terhadap efikasi diri penderita Gout Arthritis. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain quasy experimen, dengan pretest dan posttest pada kelompok kontrol. Sampel penelitian ini adalah 60 orang penderita Gout Arthritis di Puskesmas Dau Kabupaten Malang, yang diperoleh dengan teknik total sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan kuesioner The Arthritis Self-Efficacy Scale (ASES) untuk menilai efikasi diri responden sebelum dan sesudah dilakukan intervensi. Proses analisis data menggunakan pendekatan statistik Paired Sample t-test dan Independent Sample t-test dengan terlebih dahulu dilakukan uji normalitas menggunakan Saphiro Wilk dan uji homogenitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan pada efikasi diri penderita Gout Arthritis setelah dilaksanakan Self Help Group. Direkomendasikan agar Self Help Group dapat menjadi aktivitas kelompok yang terus dilaksanakan pada penderita penyakit kronis di Puskesmas.
