Abstract

ABSTRACTDiabetes mellitus is a chronic carbohydrate metabolism disturbance with many long term complications. Oneof its complications is diabetic wound risk to amputation. Wound care is nursing intervention aimed to preventthe risk of amputation. A cost effective evaluation is needed to identify the most benefecial wound care. Aquasi-experiment comparing modern and conventional with pretest and post test with control group designwas conducted with 16 selected patients. The outcome measure is wound healing process score based onBates-Jansen wound assessment while the cost measured is wound care material cost. An independent t testwith 95% confidence interval was performed to evaluate the difference of healing process and cost effectivitybetween modern and conventional dressing. The result showed a significant differences of healing processscore (p=0,002) and cost effectivity (p=0,031) between modern and conventional dressing application fordiabetic wound. It can be concluded that the application of modern dressing significantly improve the healingprocess in diabetic wound but with higher treatment cost. Keywords : Diabetic wound, Modern Dressing, Healing Process, Cost Effectivity Care

Abstract

Abstract

During the Covid-19 pandemic, offline learning was shifted to online learning. one of the applications is Zoom Meeting, which is easy to use. The zoom application combines in displaying material in power points learning and feedback communications. One of the challenges in online learning is triage learning such as the Australian triage scale (ATS), ATS itself is a type of triage with five categories. ATS material is a learning achievement that must be mastered by students, but not much research has been done on online learning methods with ATS material. The method used in this study is an observational analytic method using a cross-sectional approach, the researcher takes data from several variables that exist at the same time. There are three factor namely technological factors, student characteristics factors and teacher characteristics. Results: The results of the study several influential factors were obtained namely, technology factors with a p-value of 0.013, student characteristics factors with a p-value of 0.029, and student characteristics factors of 0.003. Teacher characteristics factor with a p-value of 0.029. The three factors have a relationship with students' triage competence with the online method. Conclusion: The three factors have a significant relationship, but there is no most significant factor yet. Abstrak: Di masa pandemi Covid-19, pembelajaran offline digeser menjadi pembelajaran online. salah satu aplikasinya adalah Zoom Meeting yang mudah digunakan. Abstract

Background: Self-management plays a pivotal role in the management of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM). Active patient participation is crucial for achieving optimal glycemic control, preventing complications, and enhancing overall quality of life in the context of long-term, sustainable disease management. Objectives: This study aims to analyze the factors influencing self-management in patients with T2DM, to provide a foundation for developing more effective interventions that support patients in independently managing their condition. Methods: This study employed a literature review method by analyzing articles published within the last five years from the PubMed, ScienceDirect, and ProQuest databases. The search keywords used were “Self-management, Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, and Factors influencing.” Out of 1,168 identified articles, 22 articles were selected based on relevant inclusion criteria, with a primary focus on self-management and its influencing factors in T2DM patients. Results: Self-management in patients with T2DM is influenced by both internal and external factors as well as individual skills. Key contributing factors include family support, cultural values, self-efficacy, emotional regulation, and time management. These elements interact dynamically, demonstrating that patients’ ability to manage diabetes is not determined by a single factor but rather by an integration of psychological readiness, supportive environments, and contextual influences. The findings highlight the importance of designing interventions that are holistic, culturally sensitive, and adaptable to patients’ daily realities. A holistic intervention approach, grounded in the bio-psycho-social and cultural model, is needed to enhance the effectiveness of self-management.Conclusions: Self-management is a crucial component in the management of T2DM. Ineffective implementation may lead to poor disease control and an increased risk of complications. Therefore, understanding the factors influencing self-management is essential for supporting sustainable and independent diabetes care.

Abstract

Coronary heart disease is the most common cause of morbidity and death in the world. Cardiac catheterization is applied to diagnose and treat coronary heart disease. Non-invasive Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) aims to open narrowed coronary blood vessels. The most frequently used vascular installation site is the femoral artery. The PCI procedure has several vascular complications, such as hematoma, which often occur in post-PCI patients. Using sand pillows and cold compresses is one measure to reduce the incidence of hematomas. This study aims to compare the effectiveness of sand pillows and cold compresses in reducing hematomas in post-PCI patients. This study was designed as a scoping review. Article searches were limited to 2019-2024. Search using the Google Scholar, ScienceDirect, and Proquest databases and using advanced search with the keywords "sandbag," "cold pack," "hematoma," and "percutaneous coronary intervention." A total of 45 articles were found, and then by applying the specified inclusion criteria, we found 6 articles. The 6 articles obtained show that using a sand pillow can reduce the duration of compression and speed up the achievement of hemostasis by pressing on the arteries. Meanwhile, using cold compresses and cold packs can cause vasoconstriction of blood vessels, speed up blood clotting time, and form blood clots. It can be concluded that cold compresses are more effective in reducing the incidence of hematomas in post-PCI patients compared to using sand pillows.
