Abstract

Readiness to learn is the overall condition of a person that makes him ready to respond or answer in the learning process. The learning process will run well if it is supported by several things, including: readiness to learn, doing assignments, reading, and so on. This study aims to: (1) describe the level of readiness of students to do assignments, (2) describe the form of student difficulties in doing assignments, and (3) the role of counseling teachers to overcome student difficulties in doing assignments at SMA N 11 Padang. This research uses a quantitative approach with descriptive research methods. The research subjects were students of SMA N 11 Padang at grade X and XI, totaling 224 people. Collecting data using a Likert scale model questionnaire, data were analyzed using percentage analysis techniques. The results revealed that: (1) the readiness of students to do assignments in the aspect of understanding the task was in the sufficiently ready category with an achievement score of 60.7%, (2) the readiness of students to do assignments in the aspect of providing resources was in the sufficiently ready category with an achievement score of 62, 5%, (3) the readiness of students to do assignments in the task completion aspect is in the sufficiently ready category with an achievement score of 57.6%, (4) the readiness of students to do assignments in the assignment aspect is in the sufficiently ready category with an achievement score of 70%.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the phenomenon of students who are slow in learning, for example: slow in accepting or capturing learning, slow in managing lessons, slow reading, slow reading comprehension, slow working, slow doing assignments, slow in solving problems and so on.  Children who are slow to learn are called slow learners. The inability of these students will affect themselves and affect others.  The purpose of this study were (1) To describe the case of slow learner students, (2) to determine the form of slow learner student delay, (3) to determine the case study of slow learner students. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive study in the form of a case study.  The subjects in this study were five students at MAN 1 Padang Lawas North Sumatra.  The data collection instruments used in this study were interview, observation, and documentation guidelines.  The data analysis technique used in this research is thematic analysis by conducting transcripts of interviews that have been verbatim. The results of this study reveal the profile of the slow learner students carried out, the five subjects were unable to achieve their learning objectives in the process or their learning activities, the five subjects had difficulty memorizing, counting, and several other obstacles.  Unlike other students in their socialization, the five subjects preferred to be silent and did not play an active role in the class.  Meanwhile, their emotional uncontrollable causes they cannot achieve their goals in learning well.  Based on the research results, it is suggested that guidance and counseling teachers can be used as a guideline in determining the delivery of BK services, especially those related to slow learner students through information services, content mastery services and individual counseling services.

Abstract

This research is motivated by a phenomenon that occurs in the field where the lack of good cooperation between parents and the school is evident in some parents only fully giving up the responsibility of educating or studying their children to the school, parents are busy working outside the home due to economic limitations. This study aims to reveal the collaboration between parents and teachers in overcoming the difficulties of students learning online during the Covid-19 period. This type of research uses quantitative research with a descriptive approach. The research subjects were 81 parents of students of SMA Negeri 2 Tilatang Kamang. The instrument used was a questionnaire with a Likert scale model using percentile analysis techniques. The results of this study indicate that the collaboration between parents and teachers is in the good category with an average percentage of 72.84%. Details of each aspect (1) The meeting between parents and teachers during Covid was in the quite good category. (2) School communication with parents is in good category. (3) improving children's learning outcomes is in the good category. (4) Home visits are in the good category. (5) School visits are in good category. (6) Providing data to each other is in the good category. Based on the results of the study, it is recommended that counselors increase parent-teacher collaboration by compiling a counseling program related to parent-teacher collaboration in overcoming student learning difficulties online.
