Abstract

Abstract This study was aimed to investigate the phytoremediation capacity and mechanism of Pb by Kiapu plants (Pistia stratiotes) based on the mass balance analysis. This study used 2 treatments, Pb exposure at 10 and 20 ppm. The phytoremediation capacity of Kiapu plants was represented by the absorption/adsorption rate of Pb by the plants during 20 days of cultivation. The mechanism of Pb phytoremediation by Kiapu plants was estimated in mass balance analysis (the mass of Pb in leaves and roots). The value of Pb mass accumulation (in leaves and roots) was used as the basis of phytoremediation mechanism determination. The results showed that Kiapu plants could absorp/adsorp Pb from the water up to 0,71% in leaves and 0,79% in roots out of 50,5 mg in the 10 ppm treatment and that of 0,50% in leaves and 0,52% in roots out of 100,25 mg in the 20 ppm treatment. These result showed that the highest absorption/adsorption was in the root of the plants indicating a rhyzofiltration mechanism during the phytoremediation process. The water quality was not effected by phytoremediation using Kiapu plants. Keywords: Phytoremediation, capacity, mechanism, Kiapu (Pistia stratiotes), mass balance

Abstract

This study aimed to know the difference of total bacterial number on the sediment of rehabilitation and natural mangrove ecosystem in the Desa Perancak, Jembrana, Bali. Sediment sampling was carried out in November 2019. The sediment sampling was carried out at two different sites, 3 station from the rehabilitation mangrove zone and 3 station from natural mengrove zone. Total bacterial number in the sediment was enumerated using Total Plate Count Method, pH was measured using pH meter, and dissolved solid was measured using TDS meter. The result showed that there was no bog difference in the bacterial amount between rehabilitation and natural mangrove ecosystem. The total dissolved solid in the rehabilitation mangrove was higher than that in the natural mangrove. The pH of sediment in the rehabilitation mangrove was lower than that in the natural mangrove. This result indicate that there is difference in the species community in both mangrove ecosystems.

Abstract

Pantai Karang merupakan pantai yang cukup padat dikunjungi wisatawan. Untuk menjaga kelestarian pantai ini penting untuk dilakukan monitoring, salah satunya yaitu dengan menjaga kondisi perairan ini agar tetap stabil. Di pantai ini selain menjadi tempat rekreasi juga terdapat lokasi pemberhentian boat yang diduga menjadi sumber pencemaran logam berat. Kandungan logam berat di suatu perairan dapat diketahui dari beberapa komponen diantaranya air, biota dan sedimen. Logam berat pada sedimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan di air, hal ini dikarenakan logam berat dalam jangka waktu tertentu akan mengalami pengendapan. Logam berat di suatu perairan juga dipengaruhi oleh parameter kualitas air diantaranya pH dan salinitas. Semakin tinggi pH dan salinitas maka perairan tersebut akan bersifat basa sehingga hal tersebut dapat berpengaruh terhadap kelarutan logam berat pada sedimen. Hasil uji logam berat Pb pada sedimen di perairan Pantai Karang berkisar antara 1,360 mg/kg hingga 7,148 mg/kg. Hasil pengukuran salinitas pada perairan Pantai Karang berkisar antara 30,3-31,6 ppt, sedangkan hasil pengukuran pH menunjukkan pH di perairan ini berkisar antara 8,0-8,2.

Abstract

This study aimed to know the amount of suspended solids and dissolved solids in the Ayung River. This study was carried out at the Downstream of Ayung River, from December 2019 to January 2020.Water sample collected from the location was analyzed for total suspended solids (TSS), total dissolved solids (TDS), temperature, pH, and DO. The result of the study showed that the amount of suspended and dissolved solid in the evening was relatively higher than that in the morning. Temporal analysis showed that there was no big difference in both parameters. In general, the water quality level in the downstream of Ayung River was belong to Class III according to the Government Regulation Number 82, released in 2001 about The Management of water quality and water pollution control.

Abstract

Water quality management is an important factor in the process of koi fish cultivation in the Minapolitan area, Tulungagung Regency. The purpose of this study was to observe the factual conditions of media water quality during maintenance using standard operational procedures in the water quality management process for koi fish maintenance media. This research was conducted on koi fish maintenance activities for 4 months. The maintenance process is carried out on 3 ponds with a total volume of 130,000 liters, and the amount of koi is 700 fish / pond. The process of feeding fish is done twice (morning and evening) with the amount of 3% of the weight of the fish. The composition of feed given during the maintenance process are: 38% protein, 5% fat, 3% fiber, 12% ash, and 11% moisture level. After measuring water quality, DO values ??did not differ greatly from 5.5 to 6.9 ppm. The range of EC values ??is 574-658 µS / cm, while the pH value is 7.7-8.9. The BOT values ??increase gradually with values ??of 2.6 ppm, 5.1 ppm, 12.7 ppm. The TDS value experienced an increase in the second month and tended to be stagnant at the 4th month with a value of 231 ppm, 287 ppm, 285 ppm. The data that has been collected is analyzed descriptively by comparing the increase in BOT and TDS lanes to see the water saturation limit, visualized in the form of line graphs.

Abstract

Frigate Tuna is one of the most economical catched fish at the Segara Beach, Kusamba. This study was aimed to observe the reproduction aspect of Frigate Tuna (Auxis thazard). The reproduction aspect observed in this study were: sex ratio, gonado-somatic index (GSI), gonad maturity level (GML), fecundity, and first length of maturity. The condition factor was also observed in this study. Sampling was carried out from November to December 2019 by collecting 84 individuals of Frigate Tuna fish. The result showed that the sex ratio between male and female showed balance condition with sex ratio value of 1:1.8. Analysis on the gonad showed that Gonado-somatic index (GSI) of male and female were were 0.0124 – 0.0308 % and 0.0142 – 0.0254 %, respectively. The fecundity of the fish was ranging from 106,430.6 to 518,843.9 eggs. The length of the first maturity for male and female was 337.716 ± .012 mm and 333.053 ± 0.009 mm, respectively. Total length of the fish was ranging from 317 to 405 mm, while the body weight was ranging from 414.27 to 854.52 gram.

Abstract

Nggolonio Village is one of the salt production areas in Aesesa District, Nagekeo Regency, East Nusa Tenggara. One effort that can be done to support efforts to increase salt production in Nggolonio Village is to analyze the suitability of salt production locations in the five research locations. The purpose of this study was to determine the Salt Suitability Index in the salt production center in Nggolonio Village. Data was collected in November 2019 from five different locations (three empty sites, one salt farmer area, and one salt company site). To obtain the Salt Suitability Index value, the secondary data was used on this study, such as: rainfall, irradiation time, air humidity, wind speed, air temperature, evaporation rate, and primary data on soil permeability, soil texture, and raw water saturation. The results showed that value of rainfall was 0.2 mm, irradiation time was 9.6 hours/day, air humidity was 31%, wind speed was 7.5 m/s, air temperature was 31 oC, evaporation was 7.8 mm/day, and the soil texture was loam. The soil permeability location I: 1.3×10-3 k, location II: 1.2×10-3 k, location III: 1.3×10-3 k, location IV: 2.0×10-3 k, location V: 1.8×10-3 k, raw water saturation location I: 3.8 oBe, location II: 2.8 oBe, location III: 2.8 oBe, location IV: 3.0oBe, and location V: 2.5 oBe. Based on the results, Salt Suitability Index at five locations in Nggolonio Village has similar index value, namely 88.89 %. These five locations fall into Very Suitable (S1) category as salt production locations.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the level of water quality in the Pelus River, Purbalingga Regency, Central Java. Water sampling is carried out in the upstream, middle and downstream sections, from June 2019 to July 2019. The water sample was then analyzed for the content of water quality parameters including COD and BOT measured using permanganate-based Titrimetry method, DO is measured using the Winkler method, TSS is measured using the Gravimetric method, then the TDS is measured using a TDS meter, Turbidity is measured using a Turbidity meter, then Nitrate and Phosphate are measured using the Spectrophotometry meth od, and water pH is measured using a pH meter. The results showed an increase in the value of water quality temporally and spatially ie (COD 28-43 mg/L, BOT 8.4-11.3 mg/L, DO 7.3-5.7 mg/L, TSS 32-65 mg/L, TDS 98-168 mg/L, Turbidity 7.2-12.7 NTU, Nitrate 0.8-1.4 mg/L, Phosphate 0.3-0.5 mg/L and pH 6.8-6.6). Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan dari Chlorella sp. dan Spirulina sp. pada kultur kombinasi dalam mereduksi logam berat kromium heksavalen (Cr6+) dalam air. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Balai Besar Perikanan Budidaya Air Payau (BBPBAP) Jepara dari bulan Desember 2018 sampai Februari 2019. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL), yang terdiri dari tiga perlakuan dan tiga kali pengulangan yaitu perlakuan A (Chlorella sp.), perlakuan B (Spirulina sp.), dan perlakuan C (kombinasi).Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa kultur kombinasi Chlorella sp.dan Spirulina sp. menunjukkan tingkat reduksi logam berat kromium heksavalen yang paling tinggi (20%) dibandingkan dengan kultur dari masing-masing secara individu (dari 6,0 ppm menjadi 4,8 ppm). Tidak ada pengaruh dari logam berat kromium heksavalen pada kepadatan fitoplankton selama proses kultur. Kualitas air yang diukur selama penelitian yaitu salinitas dengan nilai 15 ppt, nilai DO berkisar 6,9-7,3 mg/L, nilai suhu 21-22,5?C, dan nilai pH berkisar 7,4-7,9.

Abstract

Jangga river is one of the rivers in the Bali and has important ecological function. On the other hand, the jangga also became a waste-disposal of anthropogenic activities surround the river. That could an affect to increase content of nitrate and phosphate was found in Jangga river. This study was aimed to identify the concentration of nitrate and phosphate in the water of Jangga river. This study was conducted in a descriptive method by taking samples five stations from January to February 2020. The main parameters measured are Nitrate, phosphate and other water quality parameters (turbidity, temperature, pH, TDS, TSS, DO, COD and chromium). The result of this study showed that nitrate levels were high. The value of nitrate ranged from 5.3 mg/L to 7.6 mg/L. Parameter of phosphate was found in the Jangga river is also high. The value of phosphate ranged from 0.7 mg/L to 1.3 mg/L These are affected by the sewage from anthropogenic activities was found around the Jangga river including detergent and waste from agricultural and fisheries activity around the Jangga river.
