Abstract

This study aims to determine; (1) A description of the PGSD student's needs of STKIP Muhammadiyah Manokwari towards mastering basic communication counseling skills consisting of attending, empathy, and minimal encouragement. (2) Video prototype of basic counseling communication skills, in the form of attending, empathy, and minimal encouragement skills. (3) The acceptance of video in the form of attending, empathy, and minimal encouragement skills. This research is research and development using the stages of the Borg & Gall research model. Data collection techniques used were interviews and scale. The results showed that; (1) The needs of PGSD STKIP Muhammadiyah Manokwari students for the development of video basic counseling communication skills such as attending skills, empathy, and minimal encouragement are very large. (2) The developed video prototype is valid and acceptable so that it can be used in instructional learning and counseling. (3) The acceptance of the video given to 10 students and 1 lecturer of BK courses in a small group test shows a very positive (high) response.

Abstract

This research aims to find out (1) the description of needs toward the model of Lulo dance of Southeast Sulawesi to improve students’ social skills and (2) utility, feasibility, and accuracy in the model of Lulo dance of Southeast Sulawesi to improve students’ social skills. This research applied the development research proposed by Borg & Gall. Small group testing was conducted to 12 students. Data collection technique used in this research was interview and social skill scale. This research employed descriptive statistic and qualitative descriptive analysis. The results point out that (1) students were indicated to have low social skills, so school counselors need social guidance and counseling services so that the video-based model of Lulo dance of Southeast Sulawesi was developed to improve students’ social skills (2) the validation test with 3 (three) experts shows that utility, feasibility, and accuracy in the model of Lulo dance of Southeast Sulawesi based on video were suitable to improve students’ social skills. The observation result from the limited group explained that the model of Lulo dance of Southeast Sulawesi could be accepted well by the students.

Abstract

Tujuan dilaksanakannya pengabdian masyarakat ini yaitu untuk mempermudah mahasiswa dan orang tua dalam mengajarkan membaca melalui metode phonological awareness, melatih peserta didik agar memilliki keterampilan membaca awal yang benar-benar dapat dipahami sehingga mampu membaca dengan baik, menumbuhkan budaya literasi di sekolah sejak dini melalui kecintaan membaca lewat keterampilan membaca awal yang baik. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian ini adalah ceramah, tanya jawab, disikusi, dan latihan. Penggunaan metode pembelajaran yang menyenangkan sangat mempengaruhi hasil pembelajaran yang dicapai siswa, termasuk penggunaan metode pembelajran phonological awareness dalam pembelajaran membaca awal. Phonological awareness ini merupakan salah satu metode pembelajaran membaca yang menyenangkan yang menitikberatkan pada kesadaran bunyi-bunyi huruf dari huruf-huruf abjad yang ada. Dengan menggunakan metode yang menyenangkan ini siswa diarahkan untuk tidak sekedar menghafal nama-nama huruf, tetapi terlebih dahulu mengenal bunyi-bunyi dari huruf tersebut, untuk selanjutnya dikenalkan pada bentuk dan konsep cetak huruf. Dengan demikian siswa akan relatif lebih mudah memahami teknik membaca permulaan sehingga dapat menggunakannya untuk belajar membaca.

Abstract

Kampung Wandoki merupakan salah satu perkampungan yang ada di Distrik Oransbari Kabupaten Manokwari Selatan, dimana sebagian besar masyarakatnya belum paham tentang pentignya literasi. Gerakan literasi yang melibatkan keluarga merupakan langkah awal dalam menumbuhkan minat baca anak di lingkup keluarga. Kemampuan literasi pada abad ke 21 saat ini sangat dibutuhkan bagi anak usia Sekolah Dasar untuk memahami mata pelajaran yang diajarkan oleh guru di sekolah. Pengabdian pada masyarakat ini dilakukan pada bulan Februari 2022 sampai dengan Maret 2022, Metode yang digunakan adalah tahap persiapan, tahap sosialisasi program, tahap koordinasi team, tahap pelatihan, tahap pendampingan dan tahap evaluasi. Berdasarkan hasil pelaksanaan pengabdian kepada masyarakat diperoleh hasil bahwa sosialisasi dilakukan dalam keluarga, dimulai dengan proses belajar adaptasi dan mengikuti setiap hal yang diajarkan oleh orang-orang di dalam lingkungan keluarga. Ayah dan ibu menjadi tauladan atau contoh bagi anak dalam penerapan sikap yang baik terutama dalam penerapan literasi ini, masyarakat di kampung Wandoki dapat memahami tentang pentingnya sebuah literasi sebagai pengetahuan awal dalam membuka wawasan anak; Orang tua antusias dalam mendampingi anak membaca di rumah.

Abstract

The corona virus disease outbreak or more commonly known as Covid-19 is sweeping the world. The Emergency Period for the Spread of the Corona Virus Disease (Covid 19) imposes an online learning from home (BDR) rule that applies to all levels of education which is intended to provide a meaningful learning experience Regarding these rules, West Papua itself has issued a circular letter from the Head of the West Papua Provincial Education Office, Barnabas Dowansiba, which states that all learning activities must be carried out from home. student internet quota, including the unpreparedness of students and lecturers in conducting online learning itself. Therefore, the use of online platforms can vary from campus to campus, all of which lead to the objective of obtaining effective learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. The purpose of this study is to find out which online platforms were effective during the Covid-19 pandemic. Sampling using purposive sampling technique. The results of this study indicate that the recommended online platform is a zoom meeting on the grounds that it is easier to use

Abstract

AbstractMathematics teaching aids are one component of the teaching and learning process that is made so that they can visualize abstract mathematical concepts more accurately. The existence of teaching aids can enable a good transfer of learning because it can increase students' interest and motivation, this can be seen in the improvement of mathematics learning outcomes. Based on the results of interviews with the principal and teachers at SD Negeri 44 Amban that not many use mathematics teaching aids in the process of learning mathematics. This is because the teachers at the elementary school cannot yet design and make simple mathematics teaching aids that are more innovative and the materials are found in the environment around us. From these problems, we as a team in the Community Service Program (PKM) assist in making simple mathematics teaching aids so that teachers can produce innovative work. This activity was carried out at SD Negeri 44 Amban with 15 participants who are teachers at the school. The results of this PKM program are teachers' enthusiasm for participating in this training, which is due to teachers' ability to create innovative works that can be used in the mathematics learning process. AbstrakAlat peraga matematika merupakan salah satu komponen dari proses belajar mengajar yang dibuat sedemikian hingga supaya dapat memvisualisasikan konsep matematika yang abstrak menjadi lebih nyata. Dengan adanya alat peraga dapat memungkinkan terjadinya transfer belajar yang baik karena dapat meningkatkan minat dan motivasi siswa hal ini terlihat dalam peningkatan hasil belajar matematika. Dari hasil wawancara dengan Kepala Sekolah beserta guru di SD Negeri 44 Amban dalam proses pembelajaran matematika tidak banyak yang menggunakan alat peraga matematika. Hal ini dikarenakan guru-guru di SD tersebut belum memiliki kemampuan untuk merancang dan membuat alat peraga matematika sederhana yang lebih inovatif dan bahannya terdapat lingkungan sekitar kita. Dari permasalahan tersebut kami sebagai tim dalam Program Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) memberikan pendampingan pembuatan alat peraga matematika sederhana sehingga guru dapat menghasilkan karya yang inovatif. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di SD Negeri 44 Amban dengan peserta 15 orang yang merupakan guru di SD tersebut. Hasil dari program PKM ini adalah adanya antusias guru dalam mengikuti pelatihan ini serta hal ini dikarenakan guru dapat menciptakan karya yang inovatif sehingga bisa dipergunakan dalam proses pembelajaran matematika

Abstract

This study aims to determine the motivation and interest in learning in online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic in students of SD Yapis 02 Manokwari. The research method used is descriptive qualitative research method because the problem is not clear, complex and dynamic and full of meaning, so qualitative data is more appropriate to use. The instrument in this research is the researcher himself. Data collection techniques by means of observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. In the interview, the participants who will be involved are students of SD Yapis 02 Manokwari along with their parents, teachers, all of whom were selected based on certain criteria (purposive and snowball sampling). The student criteria include grade 4, 5 and 6 students who since the beginning of the pandemic have participated in online learning, with the consideration that they have understood the context of the questions asked in the interview. In addition to these criteria, students are also selected based on the ability to describe their thoughts and opinions. Data analysis techniques are carried out in line with the data collection process, carried out interactively through data reduction, data display, and verification. To maintain the credibility of the data, it is necessary to extend observations, increase persistence in research, triangulate sources, place and time, analyze negative cases and use reference materials.

Abstract

Creativity is an important competency that teachers must have to support effective learning. This study describes teachers' creativity in designing and managing mathematics learning in elementary school grades 1, 2, and 3. The research uses a descriptive qualitative method involving 3 teachers and 25 students. Data is collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis. The study results show that each teacher applies different creativity according to students' needs and character, positively affecting motivation and learning outcomes. Creativity can be seen in planning teaching materials, classroom management, and learning methods. The results of the midterm exam and motivation questionnaire showed a significant improvement. This research emphasizes the importance of discussion and collaboration between teachers to develop innovative ideas in mathematics learning. The practical implication is that schools need to support teacher training to increase creativity so learning is more interesting and effective in helping students understand the material.
