Abstract

Abstract

Continuous professional development (CPD) has a significant impact on the competency of elementary school teachers. This study aimed to investigate the readiness of elementary school teachers in rural areas to attend online training based on their professional development needs—quantitative research methods with a descriptive approach. The research sample was 94 elementary school teachers in a rural area of one of the districts in West Bandung Regency, West Java, which were taken using a purposive sampling technique. Data was collected through a questionnaire using the Guttmann scale and focused group discussion (FGD). The questionnaire consists of 8 questions in 3 indicators to be studied. While the discussion was concentrated, five questions were asked of the respondents. The study results show that elementary school teachers in rural areas are ready to participate in continuous professional development through online training according to their level of need and mastery of the subject matter. It can be a reference for further research to develop online training that does not only involve teachers from urban areas and can also involve teachers from rural areas.

Abstract

This study uses VOSviewer bibliometric analysis to chart the upward trajectory of civic cultural literacy research, particularly in primary schools. The goal of this study was to examine civic cultural literacy research trends using bibliometric analysis. Article data were collected using publication reference management systems and the Publish or Perish (PoP 8) database. Direct the search process by including the keywords "Cultural Literacy, Civic Literacy, Civic Cultural Literacy, and Elementary School" in the article's title and abstract. 1000. articles are utilized as samples and deemed appropriate. The literature included in the Google Scholar index between 2014 and 2024 provides research material. The statistics reveal that over time, the citations related to this paper are very few and even declined considerably. The statistics reveal that the number of citations linked with this work has decreased dramatically over time, as seen by the fact that there were 9004 citations in 2014. However, there will be just 410 citations at the end of 2023, and 28 citations by 2024. Based on density visualization data, the yellow color in the visualization suggests a dark direction, implying that this research is still extremely poorly done and provides a huge chance for future research on the phrase above

Abstract

This research is based on the problem of low student motivation in learning Tembang Macapat due to monotonous learning methods. The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of virtual tour media assisted by Millealab on student motivation in cognitive aspects, self-appearance, and self-improvement on Tembang Macapat material. By applying the quasi-experimental method of nonequivalent control group design, two 9th grade classes at SMPN 2 Majenang were selected as samples for the experimental and control groups. A questionnaire was chosen as the research instrument to collect pretest and posttest data. The data collected were analyzed with the normality test of Shapiro-Wilk technique, homogeneity test of Levene's Test technique, and hypothesis testing with independent sample t-test technique. The findings showed that the use of virtual tour media assisted by Millealab had a significant effect in increasing students' learning motivation on Tembang Macapat material. This can be seen from the higher score increase in the experimental group, compared to the control group and has been proven in hypothesis testing. The conclusion of this study is that ninth grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Majenang are more motivated in learning Tembang Macapat material because of the use of virtual tour media assisted by Millealab. The implication of this research is that the use of virtual tour media assisted by Millealab can be an innovative and effective learning alternative for teachers in fostering learning motivation.
