Abstract

This study attempts to reconstruct the use of the names Papua and Irian in the Indonesian Historical Path; and describe the dynamics of local struggle and the role of intellectuals before and after Indonesia's independence in interacting with the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI). The research uses a structuralism approach from Christopher Lloyd (1988), historical methods from Marc Bloch (1988), and the "Collective Active" theory from Charles Tilly (1978, 1993) for the explanation of facts. Data is collected by studying documents (archives, books, and interviews). Data collected from archives and interviews were carried out by historical criticism, and interpreted into facts which were then assembled into historical accounts of the process of naming Papua and Irian and its relation to the local dynamics of intellectual struggles before and after Indonesia's independence to integrate with the Republic of Indonesia. The results of the study revealed that the name "Papua" was given Ortez de Retes and then was used by the Dutch for the large island together with the population and their culture. However, the name Papua by the Netherlands tends to be negative meaning for local residents. Over time, the intellectuals emerged thinking and struggling to find a name to replace the name Papua with Irian.

Peace education programs develop during and after a series of incidents of conflict that hit a region. Based on the problem identification, this research is limited to the problem of intercultural learning to increase the sensitivity of diversity. The type of research used is Research and Development (R&D). R&D is a development and research model for designing new products and procedures that are systematic, evaluative, and selected until specific and quality criteria are found. The study results indicate that the socio-cultural education model with all its aspects can be practiced through multiculturalism-based peace education. Peace education is used to living in harmony, while multiculturalism is useful for understanding differences. Education needs to provide more than just words. But provides opportunities for students to develop, actively seek and process knowledge. Intercultural learning activities for which educators must be willing to use shared learning strategies include group learning processes. Educational institutions that educate based on the multiculturalism that have different values of language, ethnicity, religion, ethnicity, race, and group background in the Educational Institution, both from educators and from students.

Humans benefit greatly from culture, especially social interaction. Humans' social interaction development will influence connection patterns with the environment. The social structure based on this relationship type is more inherited. This article explains the Minahasa culture, specifically interaction patterns. The method used is qualitative. Data collection used detailed observation, interviews, and studies bibliography. They use content analysis on reports and examination results from various events in the research area, especially regarding cooperation. The data collected were analyzed qualitatively. Research results show that relationships between family members by genetics or ethnicity are generally close ties. Kinship based on marriage is influential in social life. The market has cooperativeness, friendship, kinship, and patron-client service. In collaboration, the Minahasa and Sanger Talaud ethics are better than the Gorontalo ethics. Ethnic Minahasa and Sangir Talaud have developed many ideas to form harmonious activities between fellow citizens. Cooperation between people from different cultures in Minahasa is quite good in religion. The relationship between religious communities in Minahasa is the mutual respect in their respective worship.

Abstract

Discrimination can manifest in numerous ways. At its core, intolerance can have devastating consequences, including dehumanizing people and making them feel insignificant or inferior, leading to social exclusion and violence. Discrimination has the potential to have a devastating impact on mental health, especially in immigrant communities. Analyzing written transcripts, field notes, and recorded conversations yields themes and insights from qualitative research. Interviews are used by data collection techniques to collect information from participants regarding their experiences or opinions on specific topics. Some members were dissatisfied with its independence from Dutch-established churches, while others desired to incorporate traditional beliefs. These debates remain central to the development of Christian identity in Minahasa today. Although religion and tradition are frequently intertwined, many villagers believe that preserving their religious heritage is essential to preserving their sense of identity; however, this has proven more difficult as Protestant churches have been less accommodating of cultural practices in their services.

Abstract

The values of farmers' mutual cooperation in agriculture were examined in Javanese society, where challenges related to differences in provider quality hindered the assessment of the indigenous economic landscape. Economic indices from various sectors dating back to 1880 were interpreted. The Quantitative Descriptive method was employed to describe and analyze findings without broad generalizations. Participant statements and their responses were examined to identify discrepancies between research findings and existing theories. Qualitative research methods, including interviews and observational techniques, were used to collect data through oral or written communication, enhancing the compilation of observation reports on contextual learning progress. Data analysis was guided by the Miles and Huberman methodology, which directed the process from data collection to presentation and conclusion. Findings indicated a rapid increase in skilled workers after 1830, particularly among carpenters. The number of carpenters surged due to the arrival of newly trained experts, supporting the transportation of goods from rural areas to major cities and ports. Jepara and Rembang emerged as key centers for ship equipment and furniture production, with Rembang employing approximately 700 carpenters by 1840.
