Abstract

Increased bacterial resistance to antibiotics provides a great opportunity to obtain antibacterial compounds by utilizing bioactive compounds from biological natural wealth. In Indonesia there are many known medicinal plants. Miana plants (Coleus atropurpureus, L) are one of the potential medicinal plants in Indonesia. This plant is widely used as medicine. This study aims to determine the effect of adding miana leaf flour to the ration on body weight gain, feed consumption, feed conversion and carcass percentage. This study used a completely randomized design with 5 treatments and 4 replications. The treatment was A = control, B = 1% Miana leaf flour / kg ration. C = 2% leaf flour miana / kg ration, D = 3% miana leaf flour / kg ration E = 4% miana leaf flour / kg ration. What was observed were performance and carcass including feed consumption, feed conversion, body weight gain, carcass percentage. The results of this study showed that the addition of miana leaf flour in the ration had no significant effect (P> 0.05) on body weight gain, feed conversion, feed consumption and carcass percentage. Giving miana leaf flour in the ration can be tolerated up to 4% in broiler rations.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian ekstrak daun miana dalam air minum dengan level yang berbeda. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL)dengan perlakuan adalah level ekstrak miana yaitu 0 % (kontrol) (A), 0,025%(B), 0,075% (C) dan 0,125% (D), dan diulang sebanyak 5 kali. Peubah yang diamati adalah pertambahan bobot badan, konsumsi ransum, konversi ransum dan persentase karkas.. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis sesuai rancangan yang digunakan dan pengaruh yang nyata dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan. Hasil analisis ragam menunjukkan bahwa pemberian 0,075 % dan 0,125% ekstrak miana nyata (P<0,05) meningkatkan bobot badan, sedangkan pemberian ekstrak miana 0,125% nyata (P<0,05) menurunkan konversi ransum . Pemberian ekstrak miana dalam air minum tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap konsumsi ransum dan persentase karkas broiler. Disimpulkan bahwa pemberian 0,075% ekstrak miana memberikan konversi ransum dan pertambahan bobot badan broiler yang terbaik Kata kunci: ekstrak daun miana, konsumsi ransum, konversi ransum dan persentase karkas

Abstract

Research with the addition of fermented mint leaves in drinking water aims to determine the effect of treatment on the percentage of carcass weight, liver and heart. This research was carried out for 2 months in the Animal Feed and Nutrition Laboratory and in the broiler cage at the Livestock Production Laboratory, Payakumbuh State Agricultural Polytechnic. This study started from DOC until the age of 35 days, as many as 100 broilers were the subjects, 5 treatments and 4 replications were given. The treatments were without the addition of fermented mint leaves (A), the addition of 0.3% fermented mint leaves in drinking water (B), the addition of 0.6% fermented mint leaves in drinking water (C), the addition of 0.9% fermented mint leaves in drinking water. drinking water (D) and the addition of 1.2% fermented mint leaves in drinking water (E). The basal ration consisted of corn, palm oil meal, soybean meal, fish meal, coconut oil and top mix. The variables measured were the percentage of carcass weight, liver, and heart. The research method used a completely randomized design. The results showed that the addition of fermented mint leaves in drinking water had no significant effect (P>0.05) on the percentage of carcass weight, liver and heart. The conclusion is that the addition of fermented mint leaves in drinking water up to a level of 1.2% can be tolerated by broilers until the age of 5 weeks.

Abstract

ABSTRAK. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji perbedaan kualitas semen sapi Wagyu yang diencerkan dengan tiga jenis pengencer yang berbeda. Materi yang digunakan adalah semen sapi Wagyu Japanese Black yang berumur 3 tahun. Metode yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL), dengan 3 perlakuan dan 6 ulangan. Perlakuan terdiri dari P0 (Tris aminomethane + 20% kuning telur), P1 (Susu skim + 20% kuning telur), P2 (Air kelapa + 20% kuning telur). Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan analisis sidik ragam (ANOVA) dan jika diperoleh hasil berbeda nyata maka dilakukan uji lanjut Duncan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pemberian jenis pengencer yang berbeda berpengaruh nyata terhadap viabilitas dan motilitas namun berpengaruh tidak nyata (P>0,05) terhadap abnormalitas. Persentase viabilitas yaitu P0 sebesar 81,36±1,05%; P1 sebesar 86,08±4,83% dan P2 sebesar 69,97±5,66%, persentase motilitas masing masing 45,67±0,81%; 46,50±1,37%; 41,00±1,09%, dan persentase abnormalitas masing masing 54,86±10,96%; 59,87±6,18%; 48,81±8,79%. Kesimpulasn dari penelitian adalah nilai viabilitas dan motilitas semen sapi wagyu tertinggi ditunjukkan pada penggunaan pengencer susu skim.Kata kunci: Kualitas semen, sapi wagyu, pengenceran, pendinginan.Quality of Wagyu Cow Semen in Different Diluents During the Cooling ProcessABSTRACT.  This study aims to test the differences in semen quality diluted with three different types of diluents. The material used in this study was 3-year-old Japanese Black wagyu cattle semen. The method used was a Completely Randomized Design (RAL), with 3 treatments and 6 replications, namely P0 (Tris aminomethane + 20% egg yolk), P1 (Skim milk + 20% egg yolk), P2 (Coconut water + 20% egg yolk). The data obtained were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and if the results were significantly different, Duncan's further test was carried out. The results showed that different types of diluents had significantly effected viability and motility (P<0,05) but not abnormality. The percentage of viability were P0 of 81.36 ± 1.05%; P1 of 86.08 ± 4.83% and P2 of 69.97 ± 5.66%, the percentage of motility were 45.67 ± 0.81%; 46.50 ± 1.37%; 41.00 ± 1.09%, and the percentage of abnormality were 54.86 ± 10.96%; 59.87 ± 6.18%; 48.81 ± 8.79% respectively. The conclusion of this study was that the highest viability and motility values were shown in skim milk diluent.
