Abstract

Research on tourism conformity index (IKW) and beach tourism development strategy was carried out in Munggu Beach, Munggu Village, Mengwi District, Badung. IKW data collection and questionnaire interviews were conducted in January-February 2022 with 3 IKW measurement points. The research aims to find out the value of IKW conditions and development strategies that can be used for management. The methods used are descriptive and quantitative. Primary data is based on observation of beach type parameters, beach width, beach slope, water base material, land closure, availability of clean water, and questionnaire interviews with beach visitors with purposive sampling techniques. Data analysis using IKW measurement results and SWOT analysis. Based on the calculation of IKW at 3 points, namely point I of 1,505, point II of 1,595, and point III of 1,395. The total analysis value of 1? IKW <2.0 belongs to the category of non-conformity. This is due to the weak factors that are owned, so to be developed must be done to improve management. Strategies that can be applied at Munggu Beach are WT (Weakness-Threats) strategy, such as continuing alternative tourism at Munggu Beach, involving the ekternal management of Munggu Beach and adding tourist attractions to Munggu Beach. Abstract

Seawater intrusion is the entry of seawater into the land through the soil pores. Seawater intrusion harms sanitation activities. Surabaya constitutes a city with a high population density, which leads to high demand for water that is not proportional to the water input that cause seawater intrusion. Mitigation efforts to minimize the occurrence of seawater intrusion were by planting mangrove forests which act as coastal protection systems. The purpose of this study was to determine the water quality of the wells in Kenjeran and Rungkut, as well as to determine whether the presence of mangroves could affect the water intrusion mitigation. Samples were taken from 2 stations in Kenjeran and Rungkut with 3 sampling points and 3 repetitions. The parameters measured were consist of salinity, electrical conductivity, chloride, and total hardness. The samples of laboratory results were analyzed comparatively with the Kruskal Wallis test. It showed that the water in the coastal areas of Kenjeran and Rungkut was categorized as saline water with an average salinity value ranging from 3.1–7.2 ppt. Electrical conductivity values ??ranged from 6916-7993 mmhos/cm. Chloride values ??ranged from 1825-3848 mg/l. Total hardness values ??ranged from 320-1025 mg/l. Based on the values ??above, the quality of well water in both locations is classified as having experienced seawater intrusion. The existence of a mangrove forest landscape has no significant effect on mitigating seawater intrusion, this is presumably because the low percentage of mangrove cover (3.2%) cannot degrade seawater intrusion in Rungkut. Abstract

The island of Bali as one of the icons of Indonesian tourism is famous for its natural potential, community hospitality, cultural values and the value of the natural beauty of the sea which is packaged in marine tourism attractions. Marine tourism is a tourism activity in the form of enjoying the beauty, uniqueness, comfort and other values of marine nature and other values and water sports including the provision of facilities and infrastructure as well as other services that are managed commercially. Tanjung Benoa is a marine tourism destination that is favored as a Tourist Attraction (ODTW) in Badung Regency with water sports, snorkeling and diving attractions. This study aimed to determine the current condition of snorkeling tourism and determined the strategy for developing snorkeling tourism at Tanjung Benoa Beach. The study was conducted from January 2021 to February 2021, using quantitative descriptive methods and data analysis using SWOT analysis. The results showed that the condition of tourist visits for integrated snorkeling activities in marine tourism attractions experienced a drastic decline as a result of the 2020-2021 COVID-19 pandemic conditions. The potential for marine tourism, especially snorkeling activities in Tanjung Benoa, is coral reefs, reef fish and other marine biotas. Based on the results of the SWOT analysis, Tanjung Benoa Beach was in quadrant II. The strategy for developing snorkeling tourism on the Tanjung Benoa beach was in quadrant II or the ST (Strength and Threat) strategy. The ST strategy included maintaining the condition of coral reefs and marine life and studying the reclamation of Benoa Bay. The next strategy was to increase village rules related to health protocols and e-commerce-based marine tourism marketing.

Abstract

The mangrove ecosystem of Benoa Bay is an estuarine area that plays a significant role in providing food sources for various types of biota, both aquatic and terrestrial. In addition, mangrove ecosystems are also greatly influenced by human activities such as development in mangrove areas and environmental pollution, which indirectly affect the presence of biota in those mangrove ecosystems. The purpose of this research is to understand the fish community structure and water conditions in the mangrove ecosystem of Benoa Bay. This research was conducted in October – November 2023 at 4 stations with 2 repetitions at each station. Fish sampling using gill nets with a mesh size of 2 inches.  The fish catch results in the Teluk Benoa mangrove ecosystem consist of 8 families and 10 species. Station II has the highest fish abundance among the other stations, with 8 species, while the lowest fish abundance is found at Station III, with 5 species. The fish species most commonly found in Benoa Bay is Leiognathus equulus or Cotek Fish, with a total of 188 individuals. Meanwhile, the fish species with the least number are Tripoddichthys blochii and Lobotes surinamensis, with only 1 individual each.

Abstract

Fishermen are an essential group in supporting national food security; however, their lives are still characterized by various social and economic challenges, such as unstable income, low education levels, and high household expenditure burdens. This research aims to provide an overview of the socio-economic conditions and welfare of Bouke Ami fishermen in the Nusantara Fisheries Port (PPN) Muara Angke, North Jakarta, through the Fishermen’s Exchange Rate (NTN) and Fishermen’s Exchange Rate Index (iNTN). The study was conducted in May–June 2025 using a descriptive method with quantitative and qualitative approaches. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and questionnaires distributed to 100 Bouke Ami crew members (ABK). The results showed that the majority of crew members were aged 30–39 years, had completed only junior high school education, received health services through community health centers (puskesmas), had three family dependents, and most lived in their own homes. The average total monthly income of Rp5.733.500 is considered high as it exceeds the 2025 DKI Jakarta minimum wage (UMP) of Rp5.367.381. Meanwhile, the average total expenditure of Rp5.396.761 remains below income, indicating manageable household finances. The NTN value was 1,06 in April and 1,07 in May, resulting in an iNTN of 101%, indicating that Bouke Ami fishermen in PPN Muara Angke, North Jakarta, are at a level of economic welfare classified as prosperous with slight improvement. This increase reflects a modest rise in fishermen’s purchasing power between the two months and can serve as basis for formulating policies aimed at empowering coastal fishermen.
