Abstract

The Bali province has four lakes, one of them is Buyan lake. One of communities that has important roles in lake waters ecosystem as an primary production is a community of aquatic plants. The existence of aquatic plants as weed will suffer losses more than the beneficial. So that research on density and distribution of aquatic plants in Buyan lake is very important to do. The research aims to find out the density, distribution, domination, percent of closure and other types of aquatic plants in Buyan lake. This research was conducted for 1 month during the month of March until April 2017. The value of the density of the population (KP) aquatic plants has ranged from 2-357 individuals/m2. The value of the frequency of attendance (FK) aquatic plants ranging between 0,1-1. Morisita Index (Id) has ranged from 4,9-1,39 which shows a pattern of clumped. The value of Dominance (D) aquatic plants has ranged between 0,0001-0,9823 that showed with its low variation and high abundance. The value of aquantic plant cover has percent range from 1-72% that showed of the vegetation very rare, rare and dense. The aquatic plants found during research had 4 types of living that were type of free float (Free Floating) Salvinia molesta, Eichhornia crassipes (Submerged) Myriophyllum aquaticum, (Floating) Alternanthera philoxeroides, sticking (Emergent) Schoenoplectus paludicola, Phragmites australis, Typha capensis.

Abstract

Seaweed farmers on Kutuh Beach experienced problems in seaweed cultivation activities, namely that seaweed cannot grow well. This is due to the large number of predators that ate seaweed in the cultivated area. One method that can be used to overcome this problem was using bags in seaweed cultivation. The purpose of the research that was carried out in July-October 2018 was to determine the effect of using bags on seaweed cultivation in Kutuh Beach waters. The method used in this research was experimental using two treatments (planting seaweed using bags and without bags) and three replications. Water quality parameters measured as supporting data ware DO, pH, salinity, temperature, nitrate, and phosphate. The result of this study was the growth of seaweed cultivated using bags is better than the growth of seaweed cultivated without bags.

Abstract

One treatment to increase the productivity of tilapia fish farming is by administering probiotics. Natural probiotics, besides it is safe for consumers, it is also very environmentally friendly because it is obtained from natural. The stem of banana (Musa paradisiaca) is organic waste that is commonly found in Indonesia. In the banana stems, they contain carbohydrates, protein, water, and essential minerals that can be used by microorganisms (bacteria) to evolve. Research conducted explorative research, by identifying lactic acid bacteria (BAL) potentially isolated from the banana stem probiotics (Musa paradisiaca) In specific media MRSA BCP and the addition of probiotics banana stems on Tilapia fish feed to see the effectiveness of the use of probiotics in tilapia culture. The result showed the density of lactic acid bacteria probiotic banana stems on the first day 0, day three: 1.63 x 107, the seventh day: 3:20 x 107, and the fourteenth day: 0. Results of testing the addition of probiotics in the feed of tilapia showed that tilapia given feed with probiotics that had specific growth rate and absolute growth is higher than the tilapia fed without probiotics.

Abstract

Serangan Island is a strategically touristic beach area where there is a vast expanse of seagrass being cultivated as habitat for the epiphuna, the beach has tourism activities such as surfing and swimming which could affect the life of epiphuna. The purpose of this study is to know the abundance and diversity of epiphuna in the seagrass area using the 1x1 m quadrat transect method. The study was conducted in February 2017. The highest epiphuna abundance at location 1 was 25,1 ind/m2. The lowest abundance value is at location 2 which is 19,1 ind/m2, whereas at location 3, it has the abundance value of 21,1 ind/m2. The epiphuna species that dominates from all three locations are from the Arthropoda phylum including Clibanarius taeniatus, Coenobita sp. and Calcinus laevimanus. The highest diversity index was found in location 1, 2,211, location 2 was 2,132 and the lowest was at location 3 which was 1,853, while the highest seagrass density of the three stations was Syringodium isoetifolium type 358 stands/m2 and the lowest was Thallasodendron ciliatum, 29 stands/m2. The results of the overall water quality measurement, ie, the temperature ranged from 27,6 to 28,40C, the pH ranged from 7,7 to 7,9, the salinity ranged between 28-30 ppt and DO ranged between 4,5-4,7 mg/l. Serangan Island coastal waters have the highest abundance of epiphuna in Arthropoda phylum, moderate (location 1 and 2) and low (location 3) diversity level, and with a normal water quality which is feasible for epiphuna life.

Abstract

Besarnya hasil tangkapan ikan tongkol di Kabupaten Karangasem, sehingga aktivitas perdagangannya juga semakin berkembang sangat pesat. Ikan tongkol juga memberikan dampak ekonomi terhadap setiap kegiatan usaha perikanan di wilayah tersebut. Pelaksanaan program dilaksanakan di Desa Seraya Timur, Kabupaten Karangasem dan dimulai dari; Tahapan Persiapan, Tahap Pelaksanaan, Tahap Evaluasi. Komposisi bahan bumbu untuk daging abon tongkol 3 kg adalah sebagai berikut; Kunyit 60 gr, Jahe 60 gr, Lengkuas 60 gr, Ketumbar (halus) 1 sendok makan, Garam 9 sendok makan, Cabe Merah Besar 6 Biji, Cabe Merah 15 Biji, Bawang Putih 75 gr, Bawang Merah 75 gr, Gula Pasir 6 Sendok Makan, Gula Merah 10 gr, Daun Salam 12 lembar, Sereh 3 Batang, Daun Jeruk 12 lembar, Santan 1.200 ml, Minyak Goreng 6 Sendok Makan dan Santan 1.200 ml. Abstract

Budidaya ikan di karamba jaring apung (KJA) di Danau Batur telah lama dilakukan oleh penduduk asli di sekitar Danau Batur. Komoditi ikan yang dibudidayakan adalah ikan nila. Kendala utama pembudidaya adalah parasit dan penyakit yang menyerang ikan nila. Selama ini untuk mengobati penyakit ikan nila menggunakan bahan kimia yang bisa mengakibatkan pencemaran lingkungan dan manusia yang mengkonsumsi ikan. Alternatif yang tepat adalah penggunaan herbal untuk pencegahan dan pengobatan parasit dan penyakit ikan nila di Danau Batur. Tujuan pengabdian ini adalah untuk memberikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan pada pembudidaya ikan di Danau Batur tentang manfaat tanaman herbal dalam penanganan parasit dan penyakit ikan. Jenis herbal yang bisa digunakan untuk pencegahan dan pengobatan penyakit ikan nila adalah bawang putih, kunyit, sirih dan daun pepaya. Metode yang digunakan adalah penyuluhan dan sosialisasi dengan penyebaran leaflet pada pembudidaya ikan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan 90% peserta memahami materi yang diberikan, hal ini tampak pada respon pertanyaan dan keinginan untuk mempraktekkan pengetahuan tersebut. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dapat disimpulkan pembudidaya sangat tertarik pada pemanfaatan herbal dalam penanganan penyakit ikan nila.

Abstract

The total tourist arrivals in Buleleng Regency from 2012-2016 averaged 669,005 annually. Galungan Village is located in the District of Sawan, which has an area of 14.60 km2 with part of its territory contained State Forest covering an area of 582 Ha and traversed by several Watersheds. The method used to achieve these objectives is through mentoring in the field of education, ecotourism study simulations increasing human resources in the organization of tourism awareness groups and encouraging the formation of supervisory community groups, restocking giant prawns (Macrobrachium rosenbergii) and upstream endemic fish (waterfalls) as a tourist attraction. The potentials of Galungan Village are forests, rivers, and communities of that environment. Besides that, the climate of this village is potential for the development of a tourist village. The Galungan Village supervisor community has a very important role in managing the efforts to develop village tourism. Conservation of the environment through the maintenance and nursery of endemic fish in watersheds can be one factor to provide other attractions besides the beauty of the forest and waterfalls in Galungan Village

Abstract

Klungkung Regency, Bali has highly potential of marine fisheries, especially on capture fisheries. Capture fisheries potential was estimated 4.140,7 tons per year that consist of 2.898,2 tons of pelagic fishes and 1.242,5 tons of demersal fishes. Fishery products are a source of animal protein which is very beneficial for the body because they contain high protein and low fat. Furthermore, capture fisheries products are export commodities that can contribute for foreign exchange. Handling of fresh fishes is the most important part because it can affect the quality of fish product. Handling of fishery products is generally still on a traditional scale and is managed from generation to generation with limited capacity. “Pemindangan” processing in Kusamba Village, Dawan District, is one of the fish traditional handling techniques. Kusamba Village had very high production of Frigate Tuna, however not all Frigate Tuna can be processed with Pemindangan techniques. Thus, an alternative techniques for Frigate Tuna processing is necessary to improve the value of Frigate Tuna products. This products called “Sambal Tongkol”.The advantage of Sambal Tongkol are the manufacturing process does not require a long time and special expertise so that it can be adopted by local community in Kusamba Village. In addition, Sambal is one of favorite food products for Indonesian people as a staple food companion. Sambal products have been widely developed but not many have developed with the addition of Frigate Tuna. This community empowerment activity was expected to be able to improve soft skills of coastal communities which will be able to improve their economy as well.

Abstract

Provinsi Bali memiliki empat buah danau alam yang terletak di tiga kabupaten yaitu, Danau Beratan, di Kabupaten Tabanan, Danau Buyan dan Tamblingan di Kabupaten Buleleng dan Danau Batur di Kabupaten Bangli. Danau Beratan memiliki potensi sumberdaya perikanan dengan kekayaan jenis seperti : Ikan Mujair, Nila , Nilem, Karper, Nyalian, Lele, Gabus, Betok, Sepat, dan Ikan Zebra. Budidaya perikanan di sisi utara danau sudah dikembangkan dengan sistem keramba jaring apung (KJA). keberadaan ikan zebra yang dominan di suatu perairan menyebabkan pertumbuhannya menjadi lebih cepat daripada jenis ikan lainnya dan cenderung menjadi spesies pengganggu. Kondisi ini menyebabkan ketidakseimbangan sistem perikanan di Danau Beratan bahkan menimbulkan keresahan masyarakat nelayan yang menggantungkan hidupnya di perairan tersebut. Metode yang digunakan dalam melaksanakan kegiatan ini adalah metode penangkapan langsung (direct capture) bersama masyarakat nelayan dan pelaku lainnnya dengan mengunakan alat jaring kitcrik /pencar (hand net), alat jebak/bubu (trapper), serok atau ancho dan alat tangkap listrik (electrofishing). Metode yang lainnya adalah Focus Group Discussion (FGD) untuk memberikan pengetahuan dan pemahaman kepada Kelompok Nelayan Mina Puspa Merta, serta melakukan diskusi dan urun pendapat (umpan balik) tentang penanggulangan dan penangkapan ikan zebra yang merupakan masalah pokok di ekosistem perairan Danau Beratan. Populasi ikan zebra yang terus meningkat harus segera ditindaklanjuti dengan cara menangkapnya secara berkala, agar ikan-ikan asli atau ikan lokal yang bernilai ekonomis tinggi tidak hilang dari ekosistemnya.

Abstract

Ikan lele merupakan ikan air tawar yang telah lama dikenal dan dibudidayakan di Indonesia dan merupakan salah satu komoditas air tawar yang bernilai ekonomis penting. Permintaan pasar terhadap ikan lele cukup tinggi sehingga memiliki prospek untuk dibudidayakan secara intensif. Kegiatan budidaya ikan lele secara intensif menggunakan pakan buatan merupakan salah satu faktor penting dalam pertumbuhan ikan. Harga pakan buatan yang tinggi menyebabkan usaha budidaya sulit untuk berkembang. Untuk menyiasati mahalnya harga pakan, timbul kebutuhan terhadap bahan pakan yang lebih murah tetapi memiliki nilai nutrisi yang diperlukan ikan. Salah satu pakan alami yang memiliki kandungan protein tinggi adalah cacing tanah (Lumbricus rubellus). Pemberian pakan cacing tanah (L. rubellus) sebagai pakan alternatif selain pakan buatan dapat diterapkan untuk mengatasi permasalahan ketersediaan pakan tersebut. Dengan demikian diperlukan adanya pelatihan tentang cara budidaya cacing tanah (L. rubellus) sebagai pakan alternatif kepada pembudidaya ikan lele. Tujuan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ini adalah untuk mengenalkan dan menerapkan teknologi budidaya cacing tanah (L. rubellus) sebagai pakan alternatif dalam budidaya lele dengan cara memberikan pelatihan (teori dan praktek) terhadap masyarakat pembudidaya. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan dalam tiga tahap, yaitu: survey lokasi, pendekatan masalah, pelatihan budidaya cacing L. rubellus, dan monitoring setelah pelatihan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa peserta memahami materi yang diberikan. Keberhasilan ditunjukkan dengan adanya respon positif dari peserta saat kegiatan pelatihan dan juga melakukan pengembangan terhadap kegiatan budidaya cacing L. rubellus sebagai pakan alternatif.
