Abstract

Abstract

Analysis of Income and Risk of Tobacco Farming in Subak Gede Sukawati, Gianyar. Indonesia is a fertile country with a tropical climate, which makes Indonesia have great potential to produce commodities in the agricultural sector. Gianyar Regency also uses its agricultural land, apart from planting rice and growing secondary crops, farmers also plant plantation crops, one of which is community tobacco plants with an area of 215 ha. Subak Gede Sukawati, in accordance with the existing awig-awig, must be planted alternately for one year. The planting period for tobacco plants planted in Subak Gede Sukawati, which is a community tobacco plant, only lasts once a year, starting from February-May of the same year, starting from cultivating the land to harvesting with a plant age of between 105-121 days. The population is all farmers who were farming tobacco at the time the research was conducted. The sample was determined as 30 farmers using accidental sampling. Farming income is the difference between the farming income obtained and the total farming expenditure. The farming business being carried out is considered profitable if the total income is greater than the total farming expenditure, conversely if the total income is less than the total farming expenditure then the farming business is said to be making a loss. Risk and uncertainty appear in the variations in results obtained by farmers. Where the results obtained are sometimes good or high or conversely the results obtained are low. Farmers cannot predict the outcome, but farmers can only accept it as it happens. Likewise, prices, costs, pests and diseases, as well as profits are caused by uncertainty, so that income or farming profits are variable.

Abstract

Comparative Analysis of Farming Profits for Rice and Local Garlic in Subak Aya, Babahan Village, Penebel District, Tabanan Regency. Subak Aya is a subak in Tabanan Regency where in the same growing season some farmers plant garlic and some grow rice. The purpose of the study was to analyze the characteristics of rice and local garlic farmers and to analyze the comparative advantage of farming between rice and local garlic. The analysis uses the average difference test with the help of the SPSS application. The results of this study indicate 1) Most of the farmers who grow rice and local garlic are of productive age, namely 15-64 years with more than 10 years of farming experience with land status mostly being cultivated land and arable land area above 30 acres. The education level of most farmers is high school and the number of family dependents of most local garlic farmers is 3 people while rice farmers are more than 3 people. 2) There is a significant difference in the profits obtained by farmers of rice and local garlic (h1 is accepted), where the profit of local garlic is higher, namely Rp. 13.272.710 /ha/growing season while rice only Rp 2.111.876 /ha/growing season. Farmers are advised to maximize the production of garlic to see that the profits obtained are greater than the benefits of rice production. The role of the government is also deemed necessary to assist farmers in the form of capital (money), technology and other production facilities, so that farmers can produce garlic effectively and efficiently, increase productivity which in turn has higher competitiveness compared to the imported garlic market.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has hampered agro-ecotourism's economic, social, and environmental benefits. Previous studies have ignored visitor experiences, sustainability, and secondary data. A pandemic-era field assessment of Kintamani agro-ecotourism fills this gap. Purposive sampling was used to select 100 local visitors for the survey. Perceptual class intervals and WarpPLS 7.0 were used to analyze the data. Kintamani agro-ecotourism destination services and guest loyalty scored the highest. Attributes and service quality affected visitor satisfaction and loyalty, whereas the CHSE program measures did not. These findings include improving attributes and service quality, encouraging sustainability, collaborating with local communities and stakeholders, and developing innovative products and services for Kintamani agro ecotourism. Diverse market segments may be immersed in a region's culture and nature. Kintamani agro-ecotourism requires strong branding, marketing, and data-driven decision-making. Crisis management plans and sustainable infrastructure can help agro-ecotourism to survive unexpected disasters. Agro-ecotourism in Kintamani depends on the adaptation, innovation, and preservation of a region's natural and cultural legacy.
