This research is a type of descriptive qualitative research. The data in this study are transcripts of student conversations when learning Indonesian takes place. Data collection was carried out using observation, recording, interviewing, and listening techniques. Then do preduction and presentation of data, as well as drawing conclusions. The last step, the researchers conducted time triangulation, to experts, and discussions. Based on the results of data analysis, five forms of language interference were found, namely cultural interference, semantics, syntax, morphology and phonology. Cultural interference occurs due to students' lack of knowledge of the target language culture (B2). Semantic interference occurs in the use of words that have variables in a language. Syntactic interference, including the grammatical system of B1 mixed with B2. Morphological interference, occurs in the formation and change of word formsin the use of B1 due to friction with B2. Phonological interference, there are errors in pronunciation or pronunciation of sounds in Indonesian because they are influenced byregional language (Javanese).Language interference is difficult to eliminate so we need a way to minimize its impact. The methods that can be used are the teacher's efforts, student awareness, and the role of the environment.

Abstract

This research explores the use of metalinguistic elements in ethnopoetics as a strategy to increase students' language awareness, particularly among PGSD students at PGRI Delta University. By combining linguistic and cultural aspects, this approach aims to provide a holistic understanding of language and improve the ability to analyze and use language in a multicultural context. The research method used is qualitative with data collection techniques through structured observation. The results showed that metalinguistic elements, such as phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, and pragmatics, can be applied in learning Indonesian in elementary schools. This helps PGSD students in teaching local cultural values and improving students' communication skills. The implementation of these metalinguistic elements contributes to increased language awareness, reading and writing ability, and more effective communication skills. This research highlights the importance of understanding language as a means of communication and cultural expression, and how metalinguistic elements can help students understand oral traditions and social values. The integration of metalinguistic elements in learning not only enhances students' learning experience but also prepares them to become better communicators.

Abstract

Javanese language has the largest number of speakers in Indonesia. The Javanese are scattered in almost every region in Indonesia, including in Papua which has settlements for transmigrants. Nabire is one of the areas in Central Papua that is designated for the transmigration program, so that many villages have a large population of Javanese speakers. However, as Nabire developed, there were more and more immigrants, not only from the Javanese. So that to communicate, people choose to use Indonesian or Papuan Malay so that they can be accepted and understood by all ethnic groups. Now, the use of Javanese in transmigrant villages is mixed with Indonesian, Papuan Malay, and other regional languages. However, Javanese is still often used, especially in the family realm. This study aims to describe the use of Javanese in the family sphere by Javanese transmigrants in Wadio Village, West Nabire District, Nabire, Papua. The research method uses a qualitative descriptive technique with a sample of 105 respondents. Determination of the number of respondents was taken from 10% of the total Javanese population of 1,050 people. The results of this study indicate that there is still language maintenance in the village. In the old group, they have high loyalty with a percentage of 86.75%, while in the young group, it is moderate with a percentage of 51.25%.

Abstract

This research is a class action research (CAR) combined with the results of the design of teaching material products in the form of a Mandarin Language Module. Researchers tried to use self-made Mandarin language modules to improve students' speaking skills by collaborating using the application of the Project-Based Learning model. The Pre-cycle Test, Cycle 1 Test and Cycle 2 Test use the same test questions by testing students' speaking skills through dialogue displayed on the LCD as discussion material for making projects that can be developed by students in their respective groups. At the pre-cycle stage, 5 students were in the complete category (18.5%) and 22 were incomplete (81.5%). At the stage of cycle I, the percentage of completeness increased to 12 students who were in the complete category (44.5%) and 15 students who did not complete (55.5%). The percentage of each cycle increased until the final results were obtained from cycle 2, namely 92.6% complete (25 students) and 7.4% incomplete (2 students). This result is very satisfying to the researcher because the Mandarin language skill is a subject that is quite difficult for beginners, especially since they have very little study time but are required to master quite a lot of pronunciation and vocabulary.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze environmental-themed discourse and ecolexicon forms in the Revised Edition of the Indonesian Language Textbook for grade VII students of junior high schools/Islamic junior high schools. Through an ecolinguistic approach, this study explores the use of language in texts to represent environmental issues. Data were taken from textbooks published by the Ministry of Education and Culture in 2023. This study uses a descriptive analytical method with documentation, listening, and note-taking techniques, as well as interactive data analysis. The results of the study show that environmental-themed discourse in the Indonesian Language Textbook Revised Edition in 2023 is dominated by discourse in the form of news texts. Ecolexicons in environmental discourse are manifested in the form of words and phrases. The diversity of these themes has the potential to increase students' awareness of environmental issues. However, the findings also show that the presentation of environmental-themed discourse is still lacking, so further efforts are needed to integrate ecological values in textbooks in order to build students' ecological intelligence.
