Abstract

This research aims to know the effectiveness of media cards (Card Sort)-based experiments to improve students’ critical thinking skills. The design of this research is the control group pretest posttest design. Samples taken in pusposive sampling and obtained Class VII F as a Class VII and class B experiments as a control class. This research data is the data value of the posttest and observation data of critical thinking skills of students. The results of this study indicate that the average value of experimental class posttest is 79.18 66.25 control and class. The t-test analysis results 4.62 whereas t table 1.67. Based on observation, analysis results the average rating on the class control at each meeting of 36% (not critical), 53% (quite critical), 66% (critical) while the average in class experiments at each meeting is 52% (quite critical), 69% (critical).

Abstract

The science learning process is not only learn how to remember the materials, but also capable in science process skill and apply knowledge in scientific work. Through science process skill in learning science, the study is no longer focused on the end result, but also on the process. Project activity is one of learning activities which is appropriate to develop science process skill, through a project students can be actively involved in learning and able to understand the concepts. Project activites can be fasilitated by teaching material in the form of worksheets because its more practical in its use. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the use of project based learning worksheet on pollution in enhancing science process skills and understanding of the concept of students. This study was an experimental with the type of quasi-experimental research design. The experiment was conducted in Junior High School 7 Magelang with research subjects students of grade VII. The results showed the average percentage of science process skills students experimental class was 91% with good criteria once the fourth meeting, with the average percentage the first meeting was 39% with a sufficient criteria. Class control has an average percentage of science process skills of students is 45% with not good criteria on the fourth meeting, with the average percentage the first meeting is 36%. Understanding the concept of experimental class students have increase in average the value of N-gain of 0.46. As well as the experimental class has an average value of understanding the concept of a higher grade than the control based on the calculation of the t test with tcount≥ttable (4.80≥1.67). Thus, project based learning worksheet on pollution effectively used to improve the understanding of the concept and science process skills of students.

Abstract

Dalam lingkup perguruan tinggi, aktivitas penilaian kinerja juga diterapkan untuk menilai kinerja dosen. Dasar yang digunakan dalam penilaian tersebut menggunakan dasar tri dhrama perguruan tinggi. Dalam penilaian kinerjanya, diperlukan data terkait kepuasan mahasiswa terhadap dosen. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah data kepuasan mahasiswa jurusan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam, FMIPA, UNNES, berjumlah 146 untuk semua dosen di prodi yang berjumlah 12 dosen. Dalam pengambilan data menggunakan kuesioner dari Badan Penjaminan Mutu Unnes. Varibale yang digunakan (1) kehandalan dosen (reliability); (2) sikap tanggap (responsiveness); (3) jaminan (assurance); dan (4) empati (empathy). Data akan diolah dengan melakukan clustering kinerja dosen dalam cluster baik, atau kurang. Metode clustering yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode K-Means. Cetroid data untuk cluster_baik 17.099 dan cluster_kurang 15.874. Sehingga diperoleh penilaian dosen berdasarkan indeks kepuasan mahasiswa dengan 5 dosen cluster_baik dan 7 dosen_cluster kurang. Hasil yang dari penelitian dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan kinerja dosen dalam mengajar untuk meningkatkan indeks kepuasan mahasiswa. Kata kunci—Clustering, K-Means, Data Mining, Penilaian Dosen

Abstract

This research examined the readiness of pre-service integrated science teachers in Indonesia in following the dimensions of the next generation science standards. It employed a survey method combined with an examination of the readiness of pre-service integrated science teachers who are currently studying in five colleges in Indonesia. The survey collected the data from 218 respondents, consisting of managers of science education study programs, pre-service science teachers, science education lecturers, science teachers, school principals, and education practitioners. There were 131 pre-service science teachers participating in this study in addition to 40 science teachers with have more than seven years of service as a comparison. The survey instrument was designed and presented in the form of docs.google.com, consisting of 12 questions. Learning evaluation experts validated the instrument before it was administered to the respondents. This study found that pre-service science teachers were not prepared due to three aspects: mastery of concepts; digital literacy and teaching how to apply scientific concepts in life. The achievement of future science teacher criteria for pre-service teachers is higher than teachers, except for aspects of teaching skills and human literacy.

Abstract

The Women Farmer Group in Semarang was established in 2013, and it has been developing small businesses in the processing of local fresh milk into various snack products. However, the selling value has not reached the optimum results since it faces a problem in packagingquality. Therefore, as one of the goals of Tridarma of Indonesian higher education which have directed the university to care about problems in society, an accompaniment to the business was carried out for improving the quality of product packaging. There were three activities conducted, i.e., training; re-designing; and monitoring. The results of the community service showed that the program was highly effective to enhance the understanding of Women Farmer Group members on the importance of product packaging as a strategy of marketing proved by the results of the average posttest score at 80.55. Product testing to consumers shows that the new packaging could increase consumer buying interest in comparison to the old one. Also, with the new packaging, the non-preservative snacks could have a longer storability compared tothe old packaging. In this community service activity, an empowerment model can be obtained and can be further developed.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas penggunaan LKS Salingtemas berbasis ScienceEntrepreneurship terhadap keterampilan komunikasi ilmiah dan minat berwirausaha siswa. Jenis penelitianini yaitu quasi experiment dengan desain nonequivalent control group design. Sampel diambil dengan tekniksimple random sampling. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas VII E (kelas eksperimen) dan VII C (kelaskontrol) di SMP N 7 Magelang. Data diambil dengan metode tes (hasil belajar kognitif siswa), angket (minatberwirausaha siswa) dan observasi (keterampilan komunikasi ilmiah). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkanbahwa rata-rata keterampilan komunikasi ilmiah siswa kelas eksperimen pada setiap pertemuan mengalamipeningkatan dengan rata-rata peningkatan setiap indikator yaitu 24,58%. Minat berwirausaha kelaseksperimen mengalami peningkatan setiap pertemuan dengan rata-rata peningkatan setiap indikator sebesar19,53%. Hasil uji N-gain minat berwirausaha siswa kelas eksperimen masuk ke dalam kategori sedang yaitu0,469, sedangkan untuk kelas kontrol masuk ke dalam kategori rendah yaitu 0,150. Berdasarkan hasilpenelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa LKS Salingtemas berbasis Science Entrepreneurship efektif meningkatkanketerampilan komunikasi ilmiah dan minat berwirausaha siswa

Abstract

The research objective is to reveal the knowledge of people who have visited the Jurnal Pendidikan IPA Indonesia (JPII) website about articles with international standards. The instruments used were questionnaires and interviews which were conducted a feasibility test before being used. The strategy employed was sequential explanatory by collecting and analyzing quantitative data followed by qualitative data. The articles of the participants were still unassigned and submitted from July to August 2020. The number of participants was 85 consisting of 78 lecturers, 4 students, and 3 teachers. The research results from questionnaire analysis were; the participants’ intention of visiting the JPII website as 53% to cite articles, the benefit that obtained was 69% getting references, the most interesting part of 62% was the results and discussion, the substance primacy of 35% was in the discussion section, and participants find it easiest to find novelties in the discussion section of 53%. The interview results with 79 participants (93%) stated that they had gained knowledge about international standard articles that had these characteristics; interesting topics, strong gap analysis, methods that are detailed and have novelty, and discussion that has a clear novelty.

Abstract

Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk: 1) memberikan pengetahuan bagi guru IPA SMP di Karimunjawa untuk merancang media pembelajaran IPA dengan bahan yang harganya relatif murah, 2) melatih keterampilan guru IPA untuk membuat media pembelajaran IPA, dan 3) melatih keterampilan guru IPA dalam menggunakan media pembelajaran IPA. Metode yang digunakan adalah dengan memberikan pelatihan kepada guru IPA SMP di Karimunjawa tentang merancang, membuat, dan menggunakan alat peraga IPA dengan bahan yang relatif murah. Pelatihan alat peraga IPA dilakukan di SMP N 1 Karimunjawa berjalan dengan baik. Pada akhir pelatihan peserta menunjukkan peningkatan keterampilan dalam merancang, membuat dan menggunakan alat peraga IPA dari bahan murah dan mudah didapat dari lingkungan. Peserta berharap ada tindak lanjut kegiatan sejenis dimasa yang akan datang.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the characteristics, validity, and ability of Interactive E-Book media containing Virtual Laboratory in fostering learning motivation and to find out how the cognitive learning outcomes of students. The design of this research is Research and Development, using modified steps according to Sugiyono. Analysis of potential problems seen from the low motivation to learn of students, which is supported by the lack of innovation in learning media on global warming at SMP N 4 Semarang. In this study, an interactive learning media on global warming material was developed in the form of an E-Book with an application format so that it could be accessed flexibly via mobile phones. The Interactive E-Book was declared very valid with an average validation of 92.94% from media validators and 89.87% from material validators. Then a trial was conducted to determine the readability of the media. The results of the media readability research from students obtained an average of 88.92% with very good criteria. The ability of Interactive E-Books to increase students' learning motivation was measured using a learning motivation questionnaire, there was an increase in the high category. In addition, the increase in learning motivation is also supported by the cognitive learning, average pretest score was 51.78 while the posttest score was 85.56. Based on the description, it is concluded that the Interactive E-Book is valid to be used as a medium in learning activities and is able to improve students' learning motivation.
