Abstract

Background: Low Birth Weight (LBW) is one of the risk factors that have a high contribution to infant mortality. Increasing the baby's weight is used as an indicator to determine LBW growth. In LBW babies, touch therapy is a form of stimulation to increase endurance, digestive function activities, and vagus nerve activity. Objective: This study aims to determine the effect of Loving Touch Therapy (LTT) as one of the effective non-medical methods to increase body weight in LBW that can be done by parents during home care. Method: This study was a quantitative study using an experimental design and Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT) design. This research conducted in 15 respondents in the intervention group with four weeks' LTT and 15 respondents in the control group who were given Tactile Kinesthetic Stimulation (TKS). Data were obtained from measurements of body weight before and after the intervention then the data were analyzed using independent t-test with significance level p-value <0.05 and multivariate analysis using linear regression. Results: 19 respondents female (63.3%) and 11 respondents male (36.6%) was participated in this research by the frequency distribution of the gender. It was a significant increase in body weight in LBW with LTT carried out by his mother for 28 days compared with TKS stimulation. The differences in the average weight gain are 197 grams. The difference is statistically significant. Conclusions: It can be concluded that LTT is more effective in increasing body weight in LBW post-hospital care because the technique is simple and sequential from the front to the back of the baby's body which makes it easier for parents to understand and physiologically doesn't lose much an energy.

With the aim of preventing the occurrence of some diseases can be prevented by immunization. Parents, health cadres, and health workers play a role in increasing the number of immunization visits. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the role of parents, cadres, and health workers on toddler immunization visits to the Posyandu of the Serai Wangi Puskesmas working area, Talang Muandau District. This research design is cross sectional. This research was conducted at Puskesmas Serai Wangi with a population of 787 people. The sampling technique is using purposive sampling to a sample of 89 people. Data collection tools in this study used observation sheets and the results of the study were processed using a questionnaire that had been tested / validity. The results in this study found that there is a relationship between health workers (0.0,048 < 0.05) with immunization visits of toddlers and there is no relationship between the role of parents (0.526 > 0.05), health cadres (0.185 > 0.05). The suggestion of this study is that the health center can be an evaluation material for the Puskesmas, especially health workers involved in the MCH program to improve service efforts in the form of education related to the importance of utilizing Posyandu. Keywords: The role of parents, health cadres, health workers, immunization

The purpose of the study was to determine the determinants of tuberculosis transmission prevention behavior in patients with tuberculosis. This research is a quantitative research with cross sectional study design. The research was conducted in the working area of Wanasari Health Center, Brebes Regency. The population as well as the sample used in this study were 62 patients with tuberculosis in the working area of Puskesmas Wanasari Brebes Regency. The sample collection technique used total sampling. Data analysis was done univariate and bivariate.

Abstract

Abstract: Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) is still one of the serious health problems that cause high mortality rates in children worldwide. There are 3 Puskesmas with the highest incidence of ARI, namely Puskesmas Turikale, Puskesmas Moncongloe, and Marusu. Data from Turikale Health Center, ARI disease is included in the 10 highest diseases in 2023, which is 907 cases. The recap report of the ARI control program of Maros Regency, January-November 2023 found 623 cases. The purpose of the study was to determine the relationship between food consumption patterns and the incidence of ARI among children under five. The results showed a relationship between fruit consumption patterns (p value: 0.000) and vegetable consumption patterns (p value: 0.001). It is recommended for health centers to increase counseling related to the dangers of smoking at home, exclusive breastfeeding, and routine consumption of vegetables and fruits in accordance with the Puskesmas work program. Keywords: Toddlers, Fruit, ARI.
