Abstract

This research is to find out Psychological Well-Being (PWB) of  38  teenagers at SOS Desa Taruna Kinderdorf Bandung. The method uses descriptive method by using survey technique. Purposive sampling technique is used for selecting samples. The measuring tool used is the tool developed by Ryff (1989) and modified by the researcher. The tool consists of 84 items. The data is statistically analyzed in the form of perecentage using SPSS 17.0 and the result was 64 items with validity number between 0.308 to 0.657 and reliability of 0.82. Based on the data  analysis, the result shows that the  teenagers at SOS Desa Taruna Kinderdorf Bandung have equal percentage PWB degree, namely 50% of high PWB and 50% of low PWB. The PWB has six dimensions. They are influenced by some factors, among others related with age, sex, education level, and “Big Five Personality” types. The researcher suggests a further research on the contribution of some factors that  influence PWB towards the degree of PWB and its dimensions.  Furthermore, a further research is needed to be done for teenagers at Kinderdorf Bandung before and after living in the dormitory to know exactly if there is a different degree of PWB and its dimensions. The director of SOS Desa Taruna Kinderdorf Bandung is able to re-examine a caring system to teenagers who live outside Lembang and design a caring system that is more suitable for them in order to improve their PWB dimensions. Besides, psychologists at SOS Desa Taruna Kinderdorf Bandung are able to take a significant role in councelling, face to face or group councelling, improving low PWB and its dimensions of teenagers of SOS Desa Taruna Kinderdorf Bandung.  Keywords: psychological well-being, teenagers, SOS Desa Taruna Kinderdorf Bandung.

Abstract

Abstract. This study was conducted to measure correlation between attachment to God and students’ gratitude in “X” University. Gratitude is an appreciation of individual being grateful because he has received kindness form others. Grateful people will be healthier, more enthusiastic, and optimistic. One of the factors that influences the development of gratitude is spiritual life or religiosity, which reflects human view of God, known as attachment to God. The hypothesis was there was a correlation between attachment to God and gratitude. This was a correlational research design, with 100 students of University “X” as participants. The instruments were questionnaire of gratitude and attachment to God. Data were analyzed using Chi Square. The result revealed that there was no correlation between attachment to God and gratitude. Attachment to God’s dimensions did not have any correlation with gratitude too. This study also revealed that age and gender show no relationship tendencies with gratitude. For further research, next researchers are suggested to measure correlation between gratitude and other factors.Keywords: attachment to God; dimension of attachment to God; gratitude

Abstract

This research is conducted to find out the contribution of social environment to the academic self-regulation of 10th grade students of SMA ‘Y’ Bandung. This research used social environment questionnaire based on the journal from Martinez-Pons (2002) and academic self-regulation based on Zimmerman’s theory (quoted in Boekaerts, 2000) among 160 people from SMA ‘Y’ Bandung. The result of this research showed that peers and teachers give a significant contribution to the academic self-regulation, while parents give a non-significant contribution to the academic self-regulation of the 10th grade students. The aspect of encouragement from parents, from teachers and the encouragement as well as the rewarding from peers give significant contributions to the academic self-regulation of the students. Keywords: social environment, academic self-regulation

Abstract

Deteksi dini tumbuh kembang anak diperlukan agar guru dapat membantu anak didik di usia PAUD untuk berkembang dengan lebih optimal. Masalah yang paling signifikan muncul di TK dan Daycare Damian School adalah tantrum dan juga permasalahan bahasa pada peserta didik. Tujuan diselenggarakannya pelatihan ini adalah membekali Guru PAUD dan TK di Damian School khususnya dalam melakukan Deteksi Dini dalam Tumbuh Kembang serta mengatasi permasalahan umum seperti tantrum serta keterlambatan bicara pada peserta didik. Metode yang dipergunakan adalah psikoedukasi melalui pelatihan. Total peserta yang menghadiri kegiatan ini adalah 7 orang guru. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi, terdapat peningkatan pemahaman peserta akan materi yang telah disampaikan, dengan hasil uji Wilcoxon Sign Rank Test menunjukkan adanya perbedaan signifikan antara pemahaman sebelum dan setelah mengikuti pelatihan, dengan selisih rank bertanda positif (T hitung < T tabel = tolak H0). Artinya pemahaman guru-guru meningkat setelah mengikuti pelatihan ini. Dari hasil evaluasi juga diperoleh gambaran bahwa mayoritas peserta bertekad akan menerapkan materi tersebut dalam kegiatan mereka sehari-hari di lapangan sebagai guru. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa kegiatan pelatihan ini memberikan manfaat bagi guru-guru di TK dan Daycare Damian School.

Abstract

Guru adalah figur di sekolah yang berperan penting dalam ketercapaian tujuan pendidikan. Kemampuan guru untuk memfasilitasi proses belajar siswa dan memotivasi siswa untuk mengikuti aktivitas pembelajaran di kelas merupakan salah satu kompetensi dasar yang perlu dikembangkan oleh guru. Peningkatan pengetahuan dan kemampuan guru untuk mengaplikasikan teknik-teknik learning dan melakukan pendekatan motivasional yang tepat terhadap siswa inilah yang menjadi tujuan dalam pelatihan tentang “learning and motivation”. Pelatihan dilakukan secara hybrid, sedangkan metode pelatihan yang diberikan meliputi direct instruction, small-group discussion, inquiry teaching, dan experiential learning. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi level reaksi, seluruh peserta memberikan reaksi yang positif terhadap sesi-sesi pelatihan yang diberikan. Sedangkan berdasarkan evaluasi hasil belajar peserta, pelatihan ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman dan sikap guru mengenai materi learning, namun mereka belum menunjukkan adanya perubahan dalam pemahaman konseptual atas teori motivation; kondisi ini didiskusikan lebih lanjut. Secara umum dapat disimpulkan bahwa pelatihan ini memberikan dampak yang baik bagi peningkatan pemahaman guru atas materi pelatihan, sehingga diharapkan bahwa guru lebih mampu memotivasi dan menolong siswa dalam belajar.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sejauhmana strength-based parenting dan life satisfaction remaja berperan terhadap school engagement pada siswa SMA di Bandung. Sebanyak 170 siswa SMA di Bandung menjadi responden penelitian ini. Untuk mengukur strength-based parenting, digunakan strength-based parenting Scale yang memiliki koefisien validitas berkisar 0.518-0.846, dan reliabilitas 0.942. Untuk mengukur school engagement, digunakan kuesioner hasil modifikasi alat ukur school engagement dengan kisaran koefisien validitas 0.374-0.835, dan reliabilitas 0.907. Sedangkan untuk mengukur life satisfaction digunakan Satisfaction with Life dengan koefisien validitas 0.652-0.813 dan reliabilitas 0.802. Hasil pengolahan data dengan menggunakan regresi berganda menunjukkan bahwa strength-based parenting dan life satisfaction secara simultan berperan terhadap school engagement, namun secara parsial hanya strength-based parenting yang berperan, sedangkan life satisfaction tidak berperan terhadap school engagement. Untuk penelitian selanjutnya, disarankan agar mempertimbangkan pemenuhan kebutuhan dasar siswa, serta motivasi, sebagai faktor yang diduga turut memengaruhi school engagement.

Abstract

Since it was raised more than two decades ago, research on Psychological Well-Being (PWB) in Indonesia has invited many interested people to follow up. This situation is in line with the development of the overall orientation of Positive Psychology as a form of renewal from conventional psychological orientation. A large number of PWB studies carried out in Indonesia provides quite broad theoretical and practical implications. In general, the data obtained through these studies use group norms on respondents who are relatively small in size, so that their findings are not accurate in providing a description of PWB in the group of respondents studied. Among the six dimensions psychological well-being (self-acceptance, personal growth, positive relations with others, purpose in life, environmental mental mastery, and autonomy), dimensions autonomy often show findings with lower scores than other dimensions. The purpose of this study was to find a profile of the dimensions of autonomy. The research method used is a meta-analysis and confirmation analysis of approximately 100 results of existing research, with a respondent size of around 3,000 people. After getting the score standard autonomy from the meta-analysis study, it will be continued by distributing the PWB questionnaire to around 844 respondents emerging adulthood. This research moved from the basic assumption that Indonesian culture was different from a western culture where the initial research of this PWB was developed. These cultural differences will then form different behaviors in displaying dimensions autonomy in everyday life.   Keywords: autonomy; meta-analysis; positive psychology; psychological well-being; emerging adulthood.

Abstract

Orang tua sebagai figur utama yang berperan dalam pengasuhan anak ternyata belum tentu dapat memberikan pengasuhan yang layak. Dewasa ini berkembang istilah toxic parenting, yaitu salah satu jenis pengasuhan yang memiliki dampak negatif terhadap perkembangan anak, dan memiliki ciri-ciri yang bernuansa kekerasan. TK Pelita Fajar adalah salah satu Taman Kanak-kanak di Bandung yang memiliki program pendidikan anak usia dini di jenjang play group, TK A dan TK B. Guna menghindarkan anak dari dampak buruk fenomena toxic parenting, maka TK Pelita Fajar mengadakan acara pembinaan bagi orang tua siswa dengan tema “Mengatasi Toxic Parenting”. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada hari Jumat, 11 Oktober 2024 pada pk 8.45-10.00, menggunakan metode lecturing, dengan paparan materi, pemutaran cuplikan film dan survey games. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada perbedaan pemahaman mengenai toxic parenting antara sebelum dan setelah psikoedukasi, yang kemungkinan berkaitan dengan waktu pelaksanaan yang terbatas. Evaluasi teknis menunjukkan bahwa hampir seluruh peserta menilai pelaksanaan psikoedukasi ini baik dan sangat baik, dari sisi metode, materi, narasumber dan interaksi antara narasumber dan peserta. Simpulan dari evaluasi adalah terbatasnya waktu pelaksanaan perlu menjadi perhatian untuk terjadi perubahan dalam pemahaman materi.
