Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman jagung manis pada sistem TOT terhadap pemberian dosis pupuk majemuk NPK 16-16-16 dan pemberian mulsa jerami dengan ketebalan tertentu, serta mengetahui dosis yang efisien dari penggunaan pupuk NPK 16-16-16 dan tingkat ketebalan mulsa jerami untuk tanaman jagung manis yang dibudidayakan pada sistem tanpa olah tanah (TOT). Penelitian ini merupakan percobaan faktorial yang disusun menggunakan Rancangan Petak Terbagi. Pada penelitian ini pembagian petak menjadi 2 macam yaitu petak utama yang merupakan perlakuan ketebalan mulsa jerami dan anak petak yang merupakan dosis pupuk NPK 16-16-16. Petak utama pada penelitian ini disusun dengan menggunakan rancangan dasar RAK Hasil penelitian ini menemukan bahwa perlakuan dosis pupuk Majemuk NPK 16-16-16 berpengaruh nyata terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman jagung manis. Perlakuan dosis pupuk Majemuk NPK 16-16-16 300 kg/ha menunjukan hasil terbaik terhadap panjang tanaman (umur 28, 42, dan 56 HST), jumlah daun (umur 28, 42, dan 56 HST), panjang tongkol berkelobot, diameter tongkol berkelobot, berat tongkol berkelobot, dan kadar gula dengan perlakuan terbaik menggunakan dosis pupuk majemuk NPK 16-16-16 300 kg/ha (P3). Selain itu perlakuan ketebalan mulsa jerami berpengaruh nyata terhadap parameter berat tongkol berkelobot dan kadar gula.

Abstract

One of the biggest problems confronting humanity in the twenty-first century is the global food crisis. Global food security is becoming more and more precarious as population growth picks up speed and climate change puts agricultural sustainability and food security in jeopardy. Technology is an important factor for increasing sustainable food systems in order to accomplish this goal. Smart Farming concept combines sensors, data analytics, artificial intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT), and information and communication technology (ICT). In this research paper, the researchers' method of gathering data is documentation studies. This research aims to review technologies that could be utilized to overcome the global food crisis, one of which is smart farming. The society is expected to contribute to collective efforts to create a world free of starvation and abundant food for all through this understanding of smart farming.

Abstract

Chili is one of the vegetable commodities that is often consumed by people in Indonesia. The demands of chili will increase along with population and industrial development in Indonesia. The rising demand for chili will increase the use of chemical fertilizers, especially Urea and NPK. Efforts to reduce the use of excess chemical fertilizers are to use biofertilizers and biochar. Biofertilizers function to provide nutrients to replace chemical fertilizers while biochar is a soil ameliorant material that can bind nutrients and water in the soil. The application of biological fertilizers and biochar is expected to improve the chemical, biological and physical properties of the soil so as to provide media and nutrients for plant growth. In addition, the purpose of this study was to obtain the best combination dose of biochar and biofertilizer on the growth and yield of red chili. This study used a factorial randomized group design (RAK). The first factor is the dose of biofertilizer (Y) consisting of 3 levels, namely 6 l/ha, 8 l/ha and 10 l/ha. The second factor is the dose of biochar (B) consisting of 4 levels, namely 6 tons/ha, 8 tons/ha, 10 tons/ha and 12 tons/ha. The results showed that the combination of biofertilizer doses and biochar treatments interacted with plant height at 28 and 35 HST (Days After Planting), number of leaves at 35 HST and fruit weight throughout the harvest period. The best combination was found at a dose of 6 l/ha biofertilizer and a dose of 8 tons/ha biochar. Keywords: growth and yields, chili, biochar, biofertilizers

Abstract

The problem is the abundance of untapped teak wood waste that has an impact on environmental pollution. The purpose of this community service activities is to develop an agro-industrial area and become a marketing platform for wood waste processing products. The service activities include: (1) programing preparation and socialization stage, (2) programing and to do exhibition assistance training, (3) monitoring and evaluation, (4) Marketing and promotion. The results obtained from processed teak waste are in the form of vehicle souvenirs such as cars, vespa, motorbikes, rickshaws, mineral water containers, fruit containers, and ashtrays which have been exhibited as superior products at the sub-district level. This program is implemented by UPN Veteran East Java together with Soerja Ngawi University and the Ngawi Food Security Agency. Activities carried out include comparative studies, mentoring, apprenticeship, procurement of tools and training for making souvenirs from waste, and marketing for groups of craftsmen. Waste processing is beneficial for the community in increasing knowledge and skills, increasing community income, and making the regional superior product of Ngawi Regency. Environmental pollution can be overcome by utilizing waste into superior products.

Abstract

Tanaman Krokot (Portulaca oleracea L,) salah satu jenis tanaman liar yang dapat digunakan sebagai obat. Krokot dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai tanaman obat karena memiliki banyak kandungan gizi. Kandungan vitamin dalam krokot dapat digunakan sebagai antioksidan senyawa yang dapat melindungi sel dari kerusakan yang berasal dari radikal bebas. Kandungan gizi yang banyak pada tanaman krokot menjadikan alasan bahwa tanaman krokot dapat dijadikan sebagai tanaman budidaya. Budidaya tanaman membutuhkan pupuk untuk menambah nutrisi tanaman. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu mengetahui pupuk yang paling baik terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil pada tanaman krokot. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Lahan Agroklimatologi UPN “Veteran” Jawa Timur. Perlakuan ini terdiri dari faktor yaitu macam pupuk yang terdiri dari 5 perlakuan P0 : tanpa pupuk (kontrol), P1 : pupuk kandang sapi, P2 : pupuk kandang kambing, P3 : pupuk kandang ayam dan P4 : pupuk kascing. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pemberian pupuk kandang kambing mampu meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman krokot.

Abstract

Purple eggplant (Solanum melongena L.) is one of the horticultural commodities that is quite much in demand by the people of Indonesia. The need and demand for purple eggplant every year continues to increase along with the increase in population, but purple eggplant production in some areas is still quite low due to one of them is limited land due to land conversion and less fertile land. This research was conducted from December 2024 to March 2025 in Bulurejo Village, Rengel District, Tuban Regency, East Java. This research was designed using a completely randomised design (RAL) which was arranged factorially and consisted of two treatment factors. Factor The first factor is the provision of husk charcoal (A) which consists of four levels, namely A0: 0 g/plant (control), A1 100 g/plant (control), A2: 100 g/plant (control), A3: 150 g/plant (control): 150 g/plant, A2: 150 g/plant, A3: 200 g/plant. The second factor is the application of several concentrations of Gandasil B (G) consisting of four levels, namely: G0: 0 g/L (control), G1: 2 g/L, G2: 3 g/L, G3: 4 g/L. The results showed an interaction between the application of husk charcoal 200g/plant and the concentration of Gandasil B 3g/l (A3G2) which produced the highest number of total flowers per plant, total fruit per plant, and total fruit weight per plant but not significantly different from the treatment of a combination of the application of husk charcoal 150 g/plant (A2G2) and the concentration of Gandasil B 3 g/l and a combination of the aplication of husk charcoal 200 g/plant and the concentration of Gandasil B 4 g/l (A3G3).

Abstract

Background: National Pakcoy (Brassica rapa L.) production declined by approximately 9.69 % from 2022 to 2023 due to climate variability, suboptimal cultivation practices, and agricultural land-use conversion, highlighting the need for alternative production strategies. Wick-based hydroponic cultivation with optimized nutrient management using AB Mix and Gandasil D foliar fertilizer is therefore investigated for its potential to enhance nutrient uptake efficiency, vegetative growth, and yield of pakcoy in a sustainable manner. Methodology: the study conducted in Gubeng District, Surabaya, utilized a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The first factor was AB Mix concentration (500 ppm, 1000 ppm, 1500 ppm), and the second was Gandasil D foliar fertilizer concentration (Control, 1 g/L, 2 g/L, 3 g/L). Observation parameters include, plant length (cm), leaf area (cm2), total fresh weight, shoot fresh weight, and shoot dry weight. Further analysis was performed using the Honestly Significant Difference (HSD) test at a 5% significance level. Findings: showed a significant interaction between the AB Mix concentration and Gandasil D foliar fertilizer on the plant shoot dry weight, with the highest yield (6.27 g) achieved by the combination of 1500 ppm AB Mix and 2 g/L Gandasil D. The single treatment of 1500 ppm AB Mix concentration yielded the best average for all observed parameters, including: plant length (16.73 cm), leaf area (688.04 cm2), total fresh weight (64.15 g), shoot fresh weight (51.56 g), and shoot dry weight (6.27 g). The 2 g/L Gandasil D concentration treatment provided the highest results for total fresh weight (56.09 g) and shoot fresh weight (45.28 g). The combination of 1,500 ppm AB Mix and 2 g/L Gandasil D demonstrated the most optimal results for the growth and yield of pakcoy plants compared to other treatment combinations. Contribution: These findings provide information regarding the selection of the optimal AB Mix and Gandasil D concentrations to maximize the growth and yield of pakcoy in the wick hydroponic system, which can be utilized in educational or training programs for communities practicing urban farming
