Abstract

Letter management system at Information Technology Faculty is still done manually. This method has some issues such as letter not archieved properly, late letter, letter was not received by the intended recipients and letters are damaged on distribution process. There is a need for a software that is able to manage and distribute a letter in Information Technology Faculty.Letter distribution software for Information Technology Faculty was developed by using Yii framework to build  web-based applications and Gammu SMS Gateway to equip the software with SMS notification feature. Framework utilization aims to speed up the software development process. This letter distribution software is also equipped with a feature that allows the user to comments a letter so they are able to interact with other users.The result of this research is a software that can be used to manage and distribute letter in Information Technology Faculty. This software was developed on ubuntu linux operating system as the server and apache as web server, PHP programming language and MySQL database. The software has not been used as operational software in Information Technology Faculty, but the software has met the basic functions of the letter distribution software for Information Technology Faculty.Key words : web application, letter, letter distribution, framework, Yii, SMS notification, Gammu, comment AbstrakSistem pengelolaan surat masuk di Fakultas Teknologi Informasi masih dilakukan secara manual. Pengelolaan secara manual ini menimbulkan beberapa permasalahan. Permasalahan tersebut antara lain arsip yang tidak terkelola dengan baik, surat terlambat sampai, surat tidak diterima dengan oleh penerima yang seharusnya dan surat yang rusak saat distribusi. Diperlukan sebuah perangkat lunak yang mampu mengelola dan mendistribusikan surat yang beredar di Fakultas Teknologi Informasi.Aplikasi distribusi surat di Fakultas Teknologi Informasi dikembangkan dengan menggunakan framework Yii untuk proses pengembangan aplikasi berbasiskan web dan Gammu untuk menambahkan fitur SMS Gateway. Penggunaan framework bertujuan untuk mempercepat proses pengembangan aplikasi. Aplikasi distribusi surat ini juga dilengkapi dengan fitur komentar yang memungkinkan pengguna dapat saling berinteraksi dengan pengguna lainnya. Penelitian ini menghasilkan sebuah aplikasi yang dapat digunakan untuk mengelola dan mendistribusikan surat di Fakultas Teknologi Informasi. Aplikasi ini dikembangkan pada sistem operasi ubuntu linux sebagai server dan menggunakan web server apache, bahasa pemograman PHP dan database MySQL. Aplikasi ini belum digunakan pada operasional Fakultas Teknologi Informasi namun aplikasi ini sudah memenuhi fungsi dasar aplikasi distribusi surat di Fakultas Teknologi Informasi.                                                                                                                                                        Key words : web application, letter, letter distribution, framework, Yii, SMS notification, Gammu, comment

Abstract

   21 Laundry Padang merupakan sebuah usaha yang bergerak di bidang jasa pencucian pakaian dengan menyediakan berbagai layanan seperti cuci komplit (cuci kering dan setrika), cuci dan kering, maupun setrika saja. Berdasarkan analisis yang dilakukan, diketahui bahwa sistem transaksi yang sedang berjalan pada 21 Laundry Padang masih belum optimal dan ditemukan masalah seperti penumpukan arsip dan laporan, aliran informasi yang lambat, lambatnya proses pencarian data, dan rekap laporan transaksi yang sulit. Solusi untuk permasalahan tersebut berupa sebuah sistem informasi dengan berbasis web yang dilengkapi aplikasi mobile yang dapat diakses oleh pengguna tanpa batasan waktu dan tempat. Sistem dibangun dengan metode waterfall yang terdiri dari tahapan analisis, perancangan, implementasi, dan pengujian sistem. Pada tahap analisis, tools yang digunakan untuk pemodelan adalah BPMN (Business Process Model Notation), Use Case Diagram, dan Skenario Use Case. Tahapan perancangan dilakukan dengan membuat rancangan arsitektur aplikasi, DFD (Data Flow Diagram), ERD (Entity Relationship Diagram), dan User Interface. Proses implementasi dilakukan dengan menggunakan database MySQL dan bahasa pemograman PHP dan javascript Pemrograman dilakukan secara prosedural. Aplikasi mobile dibangun dengan menggunakan kakas Basic4Android. Proses pengujian sistem informasi dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode black-box testng. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan sistem yang dibangun telah sesuai dengan kebutuhan fungsional yang ditentukan. Penelitian ini telah menghasilkan sebuah sistem informasi pelayanan jasa laundry yang dapat digunakan untuk memgelola layanan jasa laundry pada 21 Laundy Padang. Kata kunci: laundry, sistem informasi, web, mobile, waterfall

Abstract

Officially the World Health Organization (WHO) has determined that COVID-19 is a pandemic, and the Indonesian government has also declared the Corona outbreak a national disaster. To be able activities during a pandemic, we must carry out Communication, Information, and Education (IEC) to the public regarding COVID-19. IEC can be done by using posters as a communication medium. Socialization of education media is aim at high school students in the city of Padang. The purpose of this activity is to provide training to high school students in the city of Padang so that the knowledge provided can be used by making educational posters and share information related to COVID-19 to the public through social media as of concern for students to reduce the spread Coronavirus. This activity involved students from four schools in Padang, namely SMAN 7, SMAN 11, SMA Pertiwi 2, and SMA Don Bosco Padang. The method of implementing activities consists of three stages, namely preparation, implementation, and evaluation. During the activity, participants were very enthusiastic about participating in the activity until the final stage. This activity's target achievement was 90% seen from the participants who collected educational posters during the training. Meanwhile, the participants' visual literacy ability was 85%, assessed from participants' understanding in conveying visual messages into educational posters. To motivate participants to stay enthusiastic study during pandemics, the best posters were selected from the activity participants.

Abstract

Academic portal of Universitas Andalas is an information system that act as an academic information integrator as well as a means of communication between the campus academic community. Based on preliminary analysis that has been done, the Academic portal of Universitas Andalas functional is still not optimal, especially in terms of academic guidance facilities. The online academic guidance at Universitas Andalas so far still relied on social media applications which are generally in the form of chat applications. Social media usage as a communication facility for online academic guidance is not documented well. Meanwhile, academic guidance documentation is needed due to one of the accreditation assessments components by the National Higher Education Accreditation Board. Besides academic guidance is also a requirement for getting exam card for students. Academic guidance which done face to face, requires students to meet with the supervisor to get signature on the test card. There are several cases where students have not been able to meet face-to-face with a supervisor which resulted in being unable to take the exam. The solution to the problem above is to develop an online academic guidance facility in academic portal of Universitas Andalas. This facility is fulfilled by creating chatting facilities as social media or chatting applications that are often used. For this reason, research is needed to develop online academic guidance facilities. This research aims to develop an online academic guidance facility in academic portal of Universitas Andalas so that academic guidance can be run optimally and are documented. The research method used is a preliminary study to obtain accurate information and data needed, literature study, analysis and system design, implementation, and testing. The testing method used in this study uses black box testing. There are 18 functional requirements obtained based on the analysis. This research has created a portal that has an online academic guidance facility in academic portal of Universitas Andalas. The test results of the system show that the functional system is in accordance with the functional requirement.

Abstract

Senior High School 1 Batusangkar is a public school that has utilized technology in the implementation of school activities, starting from the presence of a website as an information room, using computers and the internet at school. In addition, this school is also equipped with four computer laboratories which are used for teaching rooms for students. However, in daily activities, the data generated by the school has not been integrated into an information system properly. This has become a momentum for the Department of Information Systems, UNAND in assisting schools in implementing, socializing and educating the school information system JIBAS (Inter-School Information Network) at Senior High School 1 Batusangkar as a tangible form of carrying out the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, namely community service. JIBAS is a school management information system that helps school operations ranging from academics, finance, libraries, reporting and teacher-student interactions. It is hoped that this system can help schools organize, manage and tidy up their data. Thus, this data becomes information that flows and is useful for various interested parties. The implementation method for this activity consists of three stages, namely preparation, implementation, and evaluation. After this community service activity was carried out, the school felt that this system was very good to be developed and used further for school activities as a whole. However, with the various other features that exist in JIBAS besides the Academic features, the school needs to study other features so that the effectiveness and efficiency presented by this system can be felt by the school..

Abstract

The use of information technology has resulted in numerous life changes. Starting with manual work to ensure that knowledge of innovation grows, creating automated or digital work makes it easier for people to carry out their daily operational activities. A website is an information medium to introduce or promote a company or organization. Develop a profile website to aid in information dissemination and tools for village leaders that can be accessed more quickly and practically, resulting in an innovative, effective, and efficient teaching and learning process. Nowadays, technology allows all manual labour to be converted into a practical digital mode. This community service project aims to help the Tanah Lapang Village socialize and the village head with responsibilities. The executors were a group of lecturers and students from Andalas University's Faculty of Information Technology. The stages of creating a website began with identifying the village's problems. Tanah Lapang Village information is now available on the website, including its profiles, history, organizational structure, population data, facilities, and tourism activities in the village.

Abstract

Android is a platform for smartphones that can be used anytime and anywhere. Smartphones can be felt in various aspects of human life, especially in education, as a medium of learning material between teachers and students. The development of Android-based applications needs special basic Android programming skills. The Informatics Subject Teacher Consultation of Padang (MGMP) is interested in developing a simple Android-based application but needs direction and guidance to learn Android programming. Therefore, a workshop was needed to develop an Android-based application using AppInventor for simple applications. The workshop provided more steps, essential knowledge, and new experience to be developed by MGMP Team to support duties as teachers.

Abstract

Rencana Pembelajaran Semester (RPS) merupakan wujud pengembangan kurikulum yang dibuat berdasarkan Dokumen Kurikulum. Pengelolaan RPS yang baik adalah salah satu kunci untuk memaksimalkan proses pengawasan dan pengembangan pembelajaran. Sistem pengelolaan RPS di Program Studi Sistem Informasi Universitas Andalas masih dilakukan secara konvensional. RPS belum terstruktur dengan baik sesuai standar penyusunan RPS sehingga akan menyulitkan dosen dalam melakukan pengawasan, evaluasi, dan pengembangan rencana pembelajaran, yang selanjutnya juga akan mempengaruhi kualitas lulusan serta akan menyulitkan proses penilaian pada saat Re-Akreditasi program studi. Oleh karena itu, pengelolaan RPS berupa penulisan yang terstruktur dan adanya wadah untuk mengarsipkan perubahan RPS yang dilakukan selama proses pengembangan, penting dilakukan. Hal ini dapat dicapai dengan menggunakan sebuah sistem informasi sehingga dirasa perlu untuk membangun sistem informasi pengelolaan RPS. Sistem Informasi Pengelolaan RPS dibangun berdasarkan metode Waterfall yang terdiri dari tahap analisis kebutuhan, perancangan sistem, implementasi sistem dengan memanfaatkan arsitektur MERN (MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, dan Node.js) sebagai empat teknologi utama, yang dilanjutkan dengan tahap pengujian. Dengan sistem yang dikembangkan, dosen dapat membuat RPS secara terstruktur serta memiliki arsip RPS yang pernah dikembangkan untuk nantinya dijadikan bahan evaluasi pembelajaran. Pengujian fungsional yang dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa sistem informasi pengelolaan RPS sudah berjalan sebagaimana yang direncanakan.

Abstract

West Sumatra Province, with a high disaster risk level, requires a more efficient reporting system to support disaster management. Currently, the West Sumatra Provincial Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) relies on WhatsApp and Microsoft Excel, which are considered ineffective. The goal of this activity is to implement the mobile application E-Disaster on the Android platform to enhance disaster reporting efficiency at the BPBD of West Sumatra Province. The activity method consists of three stages: preparation, implementation, and reporting. In the preparation stage, needs analysis is conducted through visits to the BPBD of West Sumatra Province to gather necessary information for application development. Implementation involves developing the application based on the gathered requirements and conducting demonstrations and handing over the application to the BPBD of West Sumatra Province. The reporting stage involves presenting the activity results and evaluating the application usage. The outcomes show that the E-Disaster application has been successfully implemented and well-received by the BPBD of West Sumatra Province. This application facilitates BPBD officers in promptly responding to disaster reports and enhances coordination and response in the field. The conclusion drawn from this activity is that the E-Disaster application can improve the response and efficiency of the BPBD of West Sumatra Province in monitoring and responding to disasters in the region. Thus, it is expected that this application will significantly contribute to disaster management in West Sumatra Province and serve as a model for developing similar systems in other high-risk disaster areas.

Abstract

Informasi merupakan suatu bagian dari komponen komunikasi yang memegang peranan penting agar pesan yang ingin disampaikan oleh komunikator dapat ditransmisikan secara baik. Informasi yang dapat diberikan oleh display salah satunya adalah informasi mengenai keberadaan lokasi yang akan dituju. Salah satu lingkungan yang memerlukan display yang dapat memberikan informasi keberadaan lokasi yang akan dituju adalah kampus Universitas Andalas. Berdasarkan studi pendahuluan yang dilakukan pada peserta SNMPTN, didapatkan 93% responden kesulitan dalam menemukan lokasi ujian yang dicari dikarenakan minimnya display peta lokasi. Oleh karena itu, perlu dilakukan pembangunan peta digital Universitas Andalas yang dapat diakses dengan mudah oleh pengguna. Sistem yang dibangun berbasis web dan menggunakan codeigniter sebagai framework PHP, penyimpanan data dan server menggunakan Laragon, serta Leaflet js untuk menampilkan peta. Perancangan sistem terdiri dari pembuatan use case diagram, database, dan user interface. Kemudian, dilakukan pengkodean dan pengujian sistem dengan metode blackbox testing. Penelitian ini menghasilkan sistem berupa peta digital yang mempermudah pengguna mendapatkan akses informasi lokasi dan bangunan yang terdapat di wilayah Universitas Andalas.
