Abstract

Information needs are necessary for humans to answer questions that are in the mind, in order to enhance their professions or main activities. The needs of each person are influenced by different situations, cognitions and physiological backgrounds. All aspects of human life require information which is expected to continuously support the improvement of life patterns toward increasing complexities. The purpose of this study was to identify and analyze the relationship of information seeking behavior by military instructors with the learning outcomes of transportation briefing of the Indonesian Army in Cimahi. This study used the correlational research method with the Spearman rank statistical test; study results showed: 1) a positive relationship between the information seeking behavior of the initiation phase and learning outcomes of transportation briefing; 2) a positive relationship between the information seeking behavior of the selection phase and the learning outcomes of transportation briefing; 3) a positive relationship between the information retrieval behavior of the exploration stage and the learning outcomes of transportation briefing; 4) a positive relationship between the information seeking behavior of the formulation stage and the learning outcomes of transportation briefing; 5) a positive relationship between the information collection stage collection behavior and the learning outcomes of transportation briefing; and 6) a positive relationship between the information seeking behavior of the presentation stage and the learning outcomes of transportation briefing. In conclusion, there is a positive relationship between information seeking behavior by military instructors and the learning outcomes of transportation briefing.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the "role of teachers in the growing smart home smart home users reading Mekarsari Ciwidey village". The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative method. Techniques of data collection through observation, interviews, and questionnaires on children users Smart House, as well as library research. In this study, researchers analyzed that the characteristics of a good teacher is a smart home: to answer and give you the exact reason of the importance of reading books, being able to explain well about the book being discussed, can share experiences about the positive impact of diligent reading, always actively invited to do read books together, always be friendly, provide information about the importance of reading the book again and again, delivering an important message about reading clearly, using language that is easily understood in explaining the importance of reading books. Based on the research results, the researchers concluded that teachers or communicators in Smart House Program in Rural Mekarsari Ciwidey meets the characteristics of a good teacher smart homes. Teachers in the program the smart home has good credibility in delivering messages and infor- mation about the importance of reading to children. And content of the message conveyed by the communicator to get a good response from the res- pondent, as well as the interest in reading are owned by the Village Mekarsari Ciwidey fall into the category of high. Researchers hope that this study can serve as a model for other social foundation to develop childrens interest in reading villages in other areas.  Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menentukan "Peranan Pengajar di Rumah Pintar Dalam Menumbuhkan Minat Baca Pengguna di Desa Mekarsari Ciwidey". Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kuantitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan kuesioner pada pengguna anak-anak Rumah Pintar, serta studi pustaka. Dalam studi ini, peneliti menganalisis bahwa karakteristik guru yang baik adalah rumah pintar: untuk menjawab dan memberikan alasan yang tepat tentang pentingnya membaca buku, mampu menjelaskan dengan baik tentang buku yang sedang dibahas, dapat berbagi pengalaman tentang positif dampak rajin membaca, selalu aktif diundang untuk melakukan buku membaca bersama-sama, selalu ramah, memberikan informasi tentang pentingnya membaca buku lagi dan lagi, memberikan pesan penting tentang membaca dengan jelas, menggunakan bahasa yang mudah dipahami dalam menjelaskan pentingnya membaca buku. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, para peneliti menyimpulkan bahwa guru atau komunikator di Rumah Pintar Program di Pedesaan Mekarsari Ciwidey memenuhi karakteristik guru yang baik rumah pintar. Guru di program rumah pintar memiliki kredibilitas yang baik dalam menyampaikan pesan dan informasi tentang pentingnya membaca untuk anak-anak. Dan isi dari pesan yang disampaikan oleh komunikator untuk mendapatkan respon yang baik dari responden, serta minat baca yang dimiliki oleh Desa Mekarsari Ciwidey jatuh ke dalam kategori tinggi. Para peneliti berharap bahwa penelitian ini dapat berfungsi sebagai model untuk yayasan sosial lainnya untuk mengembangkan minat anak-anak dalam membaca desa di daerah lain.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze how the information sources on the internet used as therapy treatment (Web Therapy) by internet addicts, especially social media addicts. The method used is qualitative method based on case study perspective. The method used to collect data incorporates in-depth interview, observation, and literature study.  The informants are seven internet addicts who acknowledge themselves as internet addicts, especially social media addicts  not by medical diagnostic as one and been using internet sources as a treatment to overcome their mental issue. Triangulation is conducted by interviewing a psychology expert. The study results show that (1) The informants admit that information sources on the internet help them reduce stress while under pressure. (2) The informants admitted the initiative comes within themselves to use information sources on the internet in order to reduce stress. (3) There are some ways for informants to identify their personal problems, that is (a) When they feel like they have no one around to talk with, to share their problems with, they use chatting platform to talk with and positive feedbacks from social media. (b) When they encounter negative psychological condition, they need entertainment from internet sources to be relaxed and refresh. (c) When they need contemplation they will look up for some information sources on the internet which might help them to contemplate. (4) To employ self-healing using Web Therapy, the informants choose (a) Entertaining information sources that can help them laugh and relax (b) Information sources contain references on how to cope with their problems. (c) Information sources that can help them to contemplate when encounter problems. (d) Interactive information sources where they can interact and communicate with friends online. (5) The informants prefer social media such as online games with multiple players, youtube, facebook, online forums longue such as kaskus.com and detik.com, and the form of information including games, movies, music, articles on health, food, humor series, chatting, memes, sarcasms, and satyrs (6) The informants agree that although they feel better after using some information sources on the internet as a treatment for self-healing therapy, but it is only temporary not a permanent one. They are also aware of the significant to face their own problems and cope with it.  This study results can be the groundwork for libraries to develop Web Therapy services.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to improve the skills and presentation techniques for librarians and library managers at Padjadjaran University. The dedication uses study analysis method. The results showed that there was an increase in presentation skills and techniques for librarians and library managers at Padjadjaran University through workshops. Workshop participants attended all the series of activities, starting from listening to the presentation of the material by the speakers, discussing it, and doing the practice of making presentation material using Prezi software. It is expected that will come. Participants will further develop with these activities.

Abstract

Background of the study: Eco-friendly information literacy plays an important role in helping to change public behavior towards a more environmentally friendly lifestyle. Purpose: The aim of this research is to examine various aspects of information literacy within the green and sustainable business programs conducted by The Local Enablers (TLE) in an eco-friendly context. Method: The research method employed is qualitative descriptive study. The research subject is based on the involvement of specific parties with the research object to be studied in-depth. The subjects involved in this study consist of several individuals who play roles in the TLE project team during the planning and implementation of green and sustainable business programs. Findings: This research outlines the information literacy process in the green and sustainable business program at TLE according to the Big6 Model theory, from problem formulation to information evaluation. The Big6 Model assists TLE as a problem-solving framework for the information needs of the green and sustainable business program. Each member of the TLE team is able to explain the process of searching for and using information during program development. Conclusion: Eco-friendly information literacy is well-established within TLE, where they actively seek out and implement new environmental information within the TLE ecosystem. In designing and implementing green and sustainable business programs, TLE recognizes the urgency of environmental issues and understands that the process of information literacy is an effective problem-solving tool.

Abstract

Abstract Background: Early-age children are lacking the ability to independently maintain health, indicating the crucial role of parents in ensuring well-being. Objective: This study aimed to assess the literacy skills of parents at Puspa Sehat UNPAD in obtaining, deciding, applying, and presenting health-related information. Method: A case study with a qualitative method was applied through interviews, literature review, observation, and data triangulation. Results: The results showed that parents at Puspa Sehat UNPAD can identify health issues and information requirements concerning dental health, child nutrition, and skin health. Furthermore, information was obtained from various channels such as Google, Instagram, journals, healthcare professionals, and consultations. In making informed decisions, it was necessary to read, listen, and observe relevant and credible sources, such as healthcare professionals. Health information was applied by visiting a doctor based on recommendations, selecting nutritionally appropriate foods, and purchasing prescribed skin medications. It was also presented verbally and through social media such as WhatsApp. Conclusion: To maintain the health of children, parents at Puspa Sehat UNPAD demonstrated fairly good health literacy skills. Abstract

Berakhirnya Pembatasan Sosial Berskala Besar dalam Rangka Percepatan Penanganan Covid-19 membuat perpustakaan berupaya untuk menarik kembali pemustaka dengan melakukan berbagai upaya promosi. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui penerapan strategi, hambatan, dan penunjang dalam melakukan promosi perpustakaan pasca pandemi Covid-19 di Dinas Arsip dan Perpustakaan Kota Bandung. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus.  Teknik analisis yang digunakan menggunakan analisis interaktif. Hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa Perpustakaan Kota Bandung telah menggunakan ke-8 bauran promosi dari Kotler dan Keller. Sedangkan untuk hambatan dan penunjang, ditemukan dengan melakukan analisis SWOT yang mana Perpustakaan Kota Bandung memiliki kekuatan dalam lokasi yang strategis dan mendapatkan pengawasan langsung dari pemerintah; kelemahan dalam luas ruangan aktivitas pemustaka, kurangnya pemanfaatan media sosial, juga koleksi yang terbatas; peluang dalam aktif bekerjasama dengan berbagai stakeholder dan dengan mengembangkan layanan teknologinya dan; ancaman karena memiliki kebijakan yang terlalu ketat, tidak fleksibel dengan perkembangan zaman, dan fasilitas kegiatan promosi yang belum memdadai.

Abstract

The library is one of the sources of information and science that has an important role in supporting education, research, and the development of society. One of the indicators of success in the library is the high level of interest in visiting librarians. This research aims to find out how much the quality of the service is linked to the interest of visiting librarians in the Bandung City library. The sampling technique in this study used quota samplings, with a quantitative approach to 43,338 library visitors in January – November 2023 and a sample of 300 respondents. An analysis conducted using the Software Statistical Package for The Social or SPSS version 27 resulted from the results of this study that the quality of the service has an influence with the interest of the publisher with the acquisition of numbers of 0.629 or in the level of “strong ” relationship. The highest variable is obtained by the physical evidence (tangible) of 0.506 then followed by reliability of 0.450, assurance of 0,425, responsiveness of 0.406, and finally empathy of 0.376

Abstract

Repositori perguruan tinggi di Indonesia masih dalam tahap adopsi awal sebab kurangnya kebijakan lembaga terkait keterbukaan akses, partisipasi akademisi, dan kontrol kualitas. Peran OAIR sebagai direktori yang dapat memudahkan temu kembali informasi, menghidupkan komunikasi ilmiah, dan menjadi pembanding setiap perguruan tinggi, menjadikan penelitian ini penting. Digunakan metode kualitatif studi kasus dengan pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Digunakan model analisis data Miles dan Huberman mencakup tahapan reduksi, penyajian, penyimpulan sementara dan verifikasi, serta penarikan kesimpulan akhir. Kolaborasi internal dibangun melalui rapat terkait pengembangan repositori, serta penyempurnaan jaringan antar divisi. Kolaborasi eksternal perpustakaan dibangun melalui kerja sama dengan fakultas, pimpinan tertinggi dan sivitas akademika untuk mengintegrasikan seluruh karya ilmiah UPI. Pada proses implementasi diperlukan strategi untuk memperkaya konten repositori melalui unggah mandiri, koordinasi dengan fakultas, dan digitasi. Sedangkan strategi untuk mendorong partisipasi dilakukan melalui pendidikan pengguna dan kebijakan mandat. Untuk memastikan kualitas konten digital diperlukan verifikasi, validasi, dan perlindungan hak cipta. Pemanfaatan teknologi diterapkan dengan mengoptimalkan fungsi user interface, usage statistic dan interoperability system. Dalam implementasi OAIR perlu adanya keterlibatan dari berbagai pihak serta langkah yang tepat dalam menghimpun muatan lokal, mendorong partisipasi, kontrol kualitas, serta penerapan fungsi teknologi.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine the effect of discipline, work experience and achievement motivation both individually and jointly on the performance of state Madrasah Tsanawiyah teachers in Purworejo district. This research includes quantitative research with a deductive research process that is answering the formulation of the problem used concepts / theories so that hypotheses can be formulated. The study was conducted in three MTs N in Purworejo district, namely MTs N 1, MTs N 2, MTs N 3 with a population of one hundred forty five people and a sample of as many as one hundred people. The data collection technique uses questionnaire techniques with questionnaires as data collection tools. In this study the analysis used was descriptive analysis and inferential analysis. From the data analyzed it was found the results that discipline had a positive and significant influence on performance, work experience had a positive but not significant effect on teacher performance while achievement motivation had a positive and significant influence on the performance of MTs N Purworejo district teachers. The three independent variables, namely discipline, work experience and achievement motivation have an effect of forty eight percent on the dependent variable namely teacher performance, while fifty-two percent of the others are influenced by other things not examined. Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan mengetahui pengaruh kedisiplinan, Pengalaman kerja dan motivasi berprestasi baik secara sendiri-sendiri maupun bersama-sama  terhadap kinerja guru Madrasah Tsanawiyah negeri di kabupaten Purworejo. Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian kuantitatif dengan proses penelitiannya bersifat deduktif yaitu menjawab rumusan masalah digunakan konsep/teori sehingga dapat dirumuskan hipotesisnya. Penelitian dilakukan di tiga MTs N di kabupaten Purworejo yaitu MTs N 1, MTs N 2, MTs N 3 dengan jumlah populasi sebanyak  seratus empat puluh lima orang dan sampel yang digunakan  sebanyak seratus orang. Teknik pengumpulan data nya menggunakan  teknik questioner dengan angket sebagai alat pengambilan datanya. Dalam penelitian ini analisis yang  digunakan yaitu analisis deskriptif dan analisis inferensial. Dari data yang dianalisis di temukan hasil bahwa kedisiplinan memberikan pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja,  pengalaman kerja memberikan pengaruh positif tapi tidak signifikan terhadap kinerja guru sedangkan  motivasi berprestasi memberikan pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja guru MTs N kabupaten Purworejo.  Ketiga variabel bebas tersebut  yaitu kedisiplinan, pengalaman kerja dan motivasi berprestasi memberikan pengaruh  sebesar  empat puluh delapan persen  terhadap  variabel terikat yaitu kinerja guru, sedangkan lima puluh dua persen yang lain dipengaruhi oleh hal lain yang tidak diteliti
