Abstract

Background of the study: In today’s libraries, increasing pressures on managing and visualizing digital collections in an efficient, interactive, and user-centered way continue to challenge the profession. Augmented Reality (AR) holds promise to facilitate spatial navigation, access to collections, and learning experiences in libraries. Purpose: The purpose of this research is to conduct a systematic review of the literature related to AR applications in library digital collections, visualization, and management. Method: Using a Systematized Literature Review (SLR) methodology, articles were found through the Publish or Perish software using Google Scholar as the primary search engine. A total of 100 articles were initially screened, and 36 articles that met predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria were selected for in-depth thematic analysis to uncover emerging patterns and research clusters. Findings: Five main themes were identified: 1) Augmented Reality (AR) for Library Navigation and Orientation, 2) AR for Visualization of Digital Assets: AR is increasingly investigated as a medium for the visualization of digital collections, 3) Integration of AR with Complementary Technologies, 4) Application of AR in Specialized Library Contexts, and 5) AR as a Facilitator of Educational Objectives. The most significant challenges identified include limited infrastructure, difficulties with system integration, and training/education issues for librarians. Conclusion: This review confirms the high potential for AR to improve user engagement, facilitate information connectivity, and enhance educational functions within libraries. However, the success of AR relies on broadband infrastructure, open content, and partnerships across community sectors, with implications for both theory and the development of immersive services.

Abstract

The final project exam or defend theses often causes anxiety for some students. Anxiety is a normal response to situations that will be faced. However, excessive anxiety will affect the lack of confidence at the time of the thesis defense. In addition to anxiety, student obstacles in presenting the final project / thesis include lack of practice and lack of mastery of presentation techniques. This service activity is intended to provide an overview to the target audience in preparing themselves to appear confident during the final project presentation or thesis defense. This community service activity is delivered through training to undergraduate students in the Nutrition and Feed Technology Study Program at Bogor Agricultural University who are taking Scientific Writing and Presentation Courses as many as 150 people. To provide a comprehensive understanding of the problems during the final project / thesis examination, I compiled three material frameworks which included an understanding of the final project, the final project/ thesis examination process and how to build confidence for the final project presentation or defend thesis. There are three things that candidates need to prepare in order to appear confident when delivering a final project presentation or thesis examination, namely physical readiness, mental readiness and presentation strategies and techniques.  To determine the target audience's understanding of the material presented, I gave the opportunity to several students to present their thesis plans and asked them some questions. From the answers of the target audience, it can be seen the ability to analyze, skills in delivering thesis plan, answering questions and defending arguments. These are the skills needed in facing the final thesis examination.

Abstract

Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) Library provides various services, yet many students do not utilize them optimally due to limited awareness and engagement. To address this, a personal selling approach was implemented through the ITB Campus Ambassador program. This study aims to analyze how personal selling is applied by Campus Ambassadors in promoting library services, focusing on strategies used, forms of involvement, and the impact on student awareness and participation. This research adopts a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. The findings show that ITB Campus Ambassadors serve in multiple roles: as speakers, moderators/MCs, content creators, and tour guides. In these roles, they deliver promotional messages in a communicative and personal manner across various platforms, both direct and digital. With relatable peer characteristics, appropriate communication style, and social influence, they build stronger connections and enhance the effectiveness of the library’s promotional messages. These findings suggest that Campus Ambassadors act as effective personal selling agents, bridging communication between the library and students while strengthening the library's image on campus.
