Abstract

4C competencies (Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking and Problem Solving, Creativity and Innovation) is the learning achievement needed at this time. Learning in the Industrial Revolution 4.0 era provides an opportunity to increase 4C competencies without space and time limits, by utilizing information and communication technology. This study aims to use the G-Suite for Education as a substitution of learning models and or strategies to improve 4C competence in the Wawasan Pedagogi Course in the Physics Study Program of Mathematics and Natural Science Faculty of Sebelas Maret University. The research mechanism includes two strand cycles, namely learning with a student-centered learning (SCL) approach as follows: 1). Classical and 2). Online using G-Suite for Education. Reflections from the two research cycles show students could  follow both classical (face-to-face) and online learning strategies, in the delivery of material and or assessment of learning outcomes.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to investigate the effect of particle content and grain size of Sokka roof tile powder on the burning endurance of the composite of Sokka roof tile powder - ripoxy R-802.The materials used were a Sokka roof tile powder (SGS), ripoxy R-802 resin, MEKPO catalyst and P-EX promotor. The Sokka roof tile powder was generated from the rejected Sokka roof tile which was crushed into powder. The powder was sieved to result in three size variances, which were mesh 80 retained in mesh 100 (177μm-149μm), mesh 150 retained in mesh 200 (99μm-74μm), and breaking away from mesh 200 (≤74μm). Prior to getting mixed with the resin, SGS was heated in an oven for 45 minutes in the temperature of 105oC. Afterwards, the powder was mixed with ripoxy R-802 resin for 3 minutes. The variances of SGS content were determined to be 10%, 20%, 30% and 40% composition. Making composite was conducted by press mould. Fixed composites was given post curing treatment in the temperatures of 80oC for 120 minutes. The burning testing on the composite was conducted on the basis of the standard of ASTM D-635. The indicator of burning endurance was determined by the data of time of burning (TOB) and rate of burning (ROB). The TOB resulted from the time of ignition and the ROB resulted from the time of fire propagation time in the composite. The results of this research are as follows: (1) the addition of SGS can improve the burning endurance of the composite of SGS-ripoxy R-802 as indicated by the increase in the TOB but the decrease of ROB due to the addition of the content of SGS; (2) the small size of the particle of SGS can increase the burning endurance of the composite of SGS-ripoxy R-802 as signified by the increase in the TOB but the decrease in the ROB due to the small size of the particle of SGS which breaks away from mesh 200 (≤74μm).

Abstract

Abstract

Reusing carbon fiber once it has been used as reinforcement in composite structures involves a complex recycling technique. This recycling process requires a strategy to ensure the recycled carbon fiber meets technical standards. Among various recycling processes, the solvolysis technique yields carbon fiber with high purity. However, solvolysis is also the most time-consuming method. This study proposes using quenching and roll-bending pretreatments, which increase the contact surface area between the composite and the solvent solution for expediting the solvolysis process of carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) composite. Quenching was performed by heating the composite to 75°C, 100°C, and 125°C before immersing it in water at room temperature. Roll bending was designed based on the principle of three-point bending and aimed to induce a strain in the composite that exceeds the strain of the epoxy resin. Quenching at 75°C, followed by roll bending, resulted in a 21% increase in the surface area of the composite. This increased area improved the solvolysis efficiency of CFRP composites by up to 21% after four days of immersion in a mixture of acetone and acetic acid.

Abstract

This study presents the design, fabrication, and evaluation of a space-efficient, lightweight, and foldable study table intended to enhance learning conditions in Islamic boarding school (pesantren) environments. The table was designed using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software with a focus on ergonomic principles, particularly a recommended working height of 70 cm to support proper posture. The final product features a durable steel tube frame, a plywood tabletop, and a collapsible leg mechanism, enabling compact storage in limited dormitory spaces. The fabrication process included precision cutting, Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), and the application of rust-resistant enamel paint, resulting in a total weight of approximately 6.5 kg with a load capacity of 40 kg.To evaluate its effectiveness, five students participated in comparative study sessions using both the old and the new table under controlled conditions. Concentration duration, used as the primary performance indicator, increased from an average of 264 seconds with the old table to 359 seconds with the new one—an improvement of 95 seconds or 36.43%. This enhancement is attributed to improved ergonomic posture, structural stability, and positive psychological effects stemming from user involvement and aesthetic design. The foldable design also allows better space utilization in multifunctional boarding school rooms. Overall, the table demonstrates significant functional and educational benefits and offers a scalable, low-cost solution for learning environments in resource-constrained settings. Future improvements may include using lighter materials and integrating storage or seating features to further improve user experience and usability.
