Abstract

Study of Casting Fertilizers on Physical Properties Change of Soil and Yield of Sweet Corn on Inceptisol. A field experiment was conducted to study the effect of casting fertilizes on soil physical characteristics and yield of sweet corn (Zea mays saccharata Sturt) on Inceptisol. The Experiment was arranged in Randomized Block Design (RBD) with three replications and eight treatments. The treatments were consisted of : O0 = control (without casting); O1 = 2.5 ton/ha; O2 = 5 ton/ha; O3 = 7.5 ton/ha; O4 = 10 ton/ha; O5 = 12.5 ton/ha; O6 = 15 ton/ha; O7= 17.5 ton/ha. The results indicated that casting fertilizer was highly significant affected on soil conductivity and soil aggregates, but was not significant to soil porosity, and fresh corn cob weight of the yield. The casting fertilizer rate of 15 to ha- 1 gave the highest yield of 13.69 ton ha-1 or increasing of 60.12% compared to without casting fertilizer (8.55 ton ha-1). The treatment casting of 15 ton ha-1 could increase soil conductivity of 480.87% (20.97 cm/hours compared with control (3.61 cm/hours) and the soil aggregate could increase of 150.16% (3.53 ml) compared to control (1.26 ml).

Abstract

Giving Cocopeat Compost and Phonska Fertilizer for Cultivation of Sweet Potato on Sandy Soil of Kusamba Beach, Dawan Sub District, Klungkung Regency. The purpose of the study were to know the effect of cocopeat compost and Phonska fertilizer in the physical and chemical properties, growth and production of sweet potato. The study was conducted at Green house of Agriculture Faculty Udayana University in pot experiment using the basic design of block randomized design. The treatment tested were cocopeat compost (K) at a dose of 10% (K1); 20% (K2); 30% (K3); and 40% (K4) of the weight of sand soil; and Phonska fertilizer (P) at a dose of 200 kg ha-1 (P1), and 400 kg ha-1 (P2). Each treatment was repeated 3 times. The results of the study showed that the treatment of cocopeat give the highest of total N, available P, available K, organic matter, weight of crop and tuber respectively on P4 treatment i.e. 0.06%; 414.27 ppm; 1079.59 ppm; 3.12%; 204.33 grams; and 58.74 grams, and the smallest one was in treatment of K1, i.e. 0.01%; 204.80 ppm; 577.23 ppm, 0.62%; 108.47 grams; and 11.78 grams, while the highest of Electric conductivity, pH, Bulk Density and permeability were occured by K1 amounted to 2.48 mmhos cm-1; 8,4; 1.09 grams cm-3 and 151.26 cm/hour; and the lowest was in K4 treatment i.e. 0.75 mmhos cm-1; 7.3 and 1.09 g cm-3. In the treatment of phonska the highest of total N, available P, available K, crop weight achieved by treatment of P2 i.e. 0.04%; 62.96 ppm; 788.61 ppm; 167.27 grams; and 32.35 grams, and the lowest was in the treatment of P1 i.e. 0.02%; 53.06 ppm; 709.48 ppm; 24.62 grams; and 24.62 grams.

Abstract

Erosion Prediction and Planning of Soil Water Conservation at Otan Watershed, Tabanan Regency The aims of this research was to predict the erosion and planning of soil and water conservation when the erosion is more than tolerable erosion. The USLE (Universal Soil Loss Equation) was used to predict erosion and planning of soil and water conservation. The result showed that the erosion level in this area was varied from very slight to very severe. The lowest erosion was on land unit 11 and 12 which were on the forest land. Slight erosion occurred on land units 2, 3, 4, 5, 10, 13, 18, 20, 22, 23, 25, 26, 28, 31, 32, 33, 34, 36, 37, 40, 41, and 43 on the use of forest land, irrigated fields, and mix crop land. Moderate erosion can be found at cocoa plantations, coffee plantations, scrub and dry land (land unit 1, 8, 16, 30, 38, dan 45). Severe and very severe erosion occurs at mixed crop land, coffee plantations, mixed crop and dry land (land unit 35 and 6, 7, 9, 14, 15, 17, 19, 21, 24, 27, 29, 39, 42, and 44 ). The planning of soil and water conservation was focused on the very severe erosion by doing for some plant growing storied canopies, very high density, and constructed terrace for land unit of 6, 7, 14, 15 ,19, 21, 27, and, 29. While at land unit, 9, 17, 24, and 35 was purposed mixed estate crop with high density, it was combinated with mulch of 1 ton/ha and in land unit 39 were for traditional terrace with gogo rice and corn plant in rotation plantation.

Abstract

Research on the effect of dosage combination of Evagrow bio-fertilizer and chemical fertilizers on soil properties, growth and yield of rice has been carried out in the glasshouse, Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University using factorial experiment with a Randomized Block Design (RBD). The first factor is Evagrow bio-fertilizer in 3 level, i.e. E0 (without bio-fertilizers), E1 (5 g bio-fertilizer/L) E2 (10 grams bio-fertilizer/L). The second factor is chemical fertilizer, which consists of 3 levels: K0 (without chemical fertilizers), K1 (150 kg Urea/ha + 75 kg SP36/ha + 37.5 kg KCl/ha), K2 (300 kg Urea/ha + 150 kg SP36/ha + 75 kg KCl/ha). The results showed that chemical fertilizers give a significant and very significant effect on most of the rice growth and yield parameters. The application of chemical fertilizers K1 and K2 increased yield of dry grain harvest to 52.87% and 102.54% compared to controls.  Application of Evagrow bio-fertilizer did not significantly increase growth and yield of rice. There is no interaction between chemical fertilizers and Evagrow bio- fertilizer.  Similarly to some of the soil characteristics, biological fertilizer and chemical fertilizer application did not show significant effect on most of the soil characteristics, except on salt levels. Keywords: Evagrow Biofertilizer, Inorganic Fertilizer, Oryza Sativa
