Abstract

Community service activities are a tri dharma obligation for an academic. Coastal areas are transitional areas between the ocean and land, which contain various ecosystems, one of which is mangroves. There are various functions of mangroves, some of which are to maintain air quality and coastal ecosystems. The condition of mangroves in Indonesia is currently tending to worsen because they are not maintained and have changed functions. So the purpose of this community service activity is to add mangrove plants that will contribute to improving and maintaining air quality and coastal ecosystems. The location chosen is Wababe Beach, precisely in Negeri Tulehu because in that location there are many mangroves that have died and need to be replanted. Some of the things done in this community service activity are to first meet with the King of Negeri Tulehu. Then a review of the activity location was carried out. After that, the handover of 500 mangrove seedlings obtained from the Maluku Provincial Agriculture Office. The last planting activity was carried out by all participants at the designated location. The conclusion of this activity is that the activities carried out are right on target and answer the needs of residents for the addition of mangroves in coastal areas so that they can improve and maintain the quality of air and the ecosystem of coastal areas.

Abstract

One of the most important approaches is the development of villages to become disaster-resilient villages. One of the strategies to improve community preparedness is to develop a Disaster Resilient Village (Destana). The purpose of the development of Destana is to increase the capacity of the community in dealing with and recovering from disasters. The method of implementing the State profile preparation program by Tulehu State Thematic KKN Students is carried out in a collaborative and multidisciplinary model. The implementation of this Community Service Activity is carried out by following 3 stages which include the planning stage, the preparation stage and the socialization and simulation stage. Data collection is carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. Community service through Thematic KKN has a great influence on public awareness of the importance of having an understanding related to the willingness to face disasters both in terms of knowledge and equipment that must be prepared. Because in community service activities through the Thematic KKN program, it has a very positive effect on the community as well as school students to know their preparedness in dealing with the disaster. The implementation of socialization and simulation is a form of activity that seeks the State of Tulehu to be included in the category of ready to face disasters through a video that will be sent directly by the Tulehu State Thematic KKN Group to the Central Maluku BNPB.

Abstract

Coastal development in Indonesia is receiving increasing attention as the need for urban spaces oriented towards sustainability, comfort, and aesthetics increases. One relevant approach is the Waterfront City (WFC) concept, a coastal-based city development that integrates ecological, social, cultural, and economic aspects. This study aims to assess the feasibility of developing a Waterfront City in Southeast Maluku Regency by assessing the area's existing conditions, social potential, and economic prospects. The research method uses a descriptive-analytical approach through a combination of secondary data in the form of regional planning documents and primary data from field surveys, interviews, and questionnaires. The analysis is conducted based on social, economic, technical, and environmental aspects to obtain a comprehensive picture. The results show that the coastal area of ??Langgur City, particularly Watdek, Ohoijang, and Tanah Misi, faces pressure due to dense settlements above the sea, environmental degradation, and limited basic infrastructure. From a social perspective, the majority of the community supports waterfront development in the hope of increasing public space, tourist access, and new job opportunities, despite concerns regarding the relocation of traditional settlements. Local cultural factors, such as Larvul Ngabal and the principle of ain ni ain, serve as important social capital in encouraging community acceptance. From an economic perspective, the feasibility analysis shows a positive NPV, high IRR, and a B/C ratio >1, indicating that the project is financially viable. Overall, the development of Waterfront City in Southeast Maluku is considered feasible if designed in a participatory manner and based on sustainable development principles. The project's success is largely determined by the integration of spatial planning policies, community involvement, and efforts to maintain a balance between economic growth, cultural preservation, and coastal environmental sustainability.

Abstract

Rapid population growth in Sirimau District, the center of Ambon City, has led to a shortage of burial land, a vital component of green open space. The underlying problem is that existing burial grounds are nearly full and no longer adequate, as evidenced by the practice of piling up graves. Facing this situation, this study focuses on analyzing land needs and suitability for new burial sites, with the aim of projecting needs through 2044 and identifying suitable areas. The study used arithmetic projection methods to predict the number of deaths, which were then analyzed using spatial overlay techniques based on physical, ecological, economic, and land-use criteria. The projection results indicated that 11.74 hectares of new burial land would be needed. However, the analysis in Sirimau District indicated that only 6.57 hectares of suitable land were available, making it insufficient. An expanded analysis across Ambon City identified several potential sites in five sub-districts. It concluded that Sirimau District is unable to meet its own needs, necessitating city-wide cemetery planning. These results can serve as recommendations for the government in spatial planning and contribute to meeting the 30% green open space target.
