Abstract

Ekstrak rimpang temulawak (Curcuma xanthorriza Roxb.) memiliki sifat alelopati yang berasal dari hasil senyawa metabolit sekunder. Senyawa metabolit tersebut menghambat pertumbuhan tanamanlain. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari potensi ekstrak rimpang temulawak dan mendapatkan konsentrasi ekstrak rimpang temulawak yang tidak dapat menghambat perkecambahan kedelai. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Maret hingga April 2015 yang dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Sumberdaya Lingkungan menggunakan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Brawijaya, Rancangan Acak Lengkap. Penelitian ini terdiri atas 6 perlakuan yaitu P0 (kontrol), P1 (konsentrasi 20%), P2 (konsentrasi 40%), P3 (konsentrasi 60%), P4 (konsentrasi 80%), P5 (konsentrasi 100%) dan 4 kali ulangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa ekstrak rimpang temulawak mampu menghambat perkecambahan kedelai yang terlihat pada perlakuan konsentrasi 60%.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to explore the experiences of local educators teaching Indonesian as a Foreign Language (BIPA) in Timor-Leste, specifically at two educational institutions: Escola Secundaria Geral (ESG) and Escola Técnica Vocacional (ESTV). Using a reflective qualitative approach with a collective case study design, the research involved six active teachers as key participants. Data were gathered through classroom observations, semi-structured interviews, open-ended questionnaires, and analysis of instructional documents, then examined using thematic coding and narrative reflection. The findings show that teachers developed task-based learning strategies, culturally relevant media, and contextual approaches despite facing structural limitations. Lesson plans generally demonstrated moderate alignment with Graduate Competency Standards (SKL), though they need improvement in goal setting, cultural integration, and rubric-based assessment. This study emphasizes teachers’ voices as essential sources of curricular knowledge, shifting focus from macro-level policy to reflective classroom practice. Consequently, BIPA is seen not just as a language teaching initiative but as a form of soft diplomacy that strengthens bilateral relations between Indonesia and Timor-Leste through intercultural education.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to evaluate the efficacy of integrating adaptive conversational AI models in enhancing language proficiency—specifically speaking and listening skills and learning motivation among BIPA (Indonesian for Foreign Speakers) learners. Methods: A quasi-experimental design was employed involving 30 BIPA learners at ESGC São João de Brito, Liquica, Timor-Leste. Participants were divided into an experimental group utilizing an adaptive conversational AI model and a control group following conventional teaching methods. Data collection encompassed language proficiency tests (speaking and listening), questionnaires to gauge learning motivation, and direct classroom observation. Results: The findings revealed significant improvements in the experimental group's speaking and listening abilities compared to the control group. Furthermore, learners using AI exhibited higher motivation levels, engaged in more active classroom interactions, and held positive perceptions of the AI-based approach, whereas the control group did not demonstrate comparable gains. Novelty: This research underscores the distinct potential of adaptive conversational AI not only for improving oral communication but also for fostering intercultural competence among BIPA learners. It offers valuable insights for designing innovative, responsive, and learner-centered teaching strategies within technology-integrated BIPA curricula.

Abstract

Artikel ini membahas pengembangan media pembelajaran digital berbasis video untuk pembelajaran bonang gamelan degung sebagai bagian dari pendidikan seni musik tradisional. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian dan pengembangan dengan model Media Development Life Cycle (MDLC) yang meliputi tahap concept, design, material collecting, assembly, testing, dan distribution. Luaran penelitian berupa video pembelajaran yang memvisualisasikan teknik dasar permainan bonang, pola tabuhan, serta contoh permainan dalam konteks gamelan degung, dan didistribusikan melalui platform YouTube. Hasil pengembangan menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model MDLC efektif dalam menghasilkan media pembelajaran yang layak secara teknis, mudah diakses, dan sesuai dengan karakteristik pembelajar generasi digital. Respon guru yang berperan sebagai pelatih serta murid ekstrakurikuler gamelan degung menunjukkan bahwa media ini membantu proses pembelajaran dan latihan, memudahkan pemahaman teknik tabuhan, serta mendukung pembelajaran mandiri. Secara akademik, penelitian ini berkontribusi pada kajian teknologi pendidikan dan pendidikan seni musik dengan menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan media pembelajaran berbasis video dapat menjadi pendekatan strategis dalam adaptasi pembelajaran musik tradisional di era digital, sekaligus mendukung upaya pelestarian budaya melalui pemanfaatan teknologi.

Abstract

This study addresses the limited attention given to independent practice in primary music education by examining how young students structure drum practice beyond direct instruction in a non-formal setting. A qualitative design was employed involving four students aged seven to nine, using participant observation, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis during thirty-minute sessions. Inductive thematic analysis revealed that students consistently initiated practice by revisiting previously learned 4/4 grooves, using prior material as a structural anchor. Despite tempo instability and coordination challenges between the hi-hat and bass drum, students maintained rhythmic coherence while negotiating motor demands. Problem-solving was predominantly global, relying on whole-pattern repetition rather than segmentation. Practice organization emerged implicitly, progressing from hi-hat stabilization toward full groove integration. These findings highlight early-stage self-structured practice behaviors and extend understanding of independent practice in drum learning. However, the small sample and single-context design limit generalizability. Future research should involve larger samples and longitudinal approaches to examine developmental progression in practice strategies.

Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this research is to reveal the process of designing a virtual instrument for Sundanese drumming, starting from practical studies to its realization as a market-ready design. The influence of the development of digital music technology has led to various inventions in the form of virtual instruments. As part of the preservation and development of local culture-based music, it is necessary to create virtual musical instruments, including Sundanese drums. The problem that occurs today is, that virtual instrument media for Sundanese drums that facilitate learning Sundanese drums is still very rare. Method: The method is practice-led research or practice-based study by playing real drumming instruments recorded using sampling media in the form of virtual instruments in the KONTAKT Library. Result and Discussion: The design process is carried out in three stages, namely. pre-production, production, and post-production. The results showed that the pre-production analysis of tepak kendang sunda highlighted four drum sounds, namely keplak, kentrung, kemprang, and gedug. The production stage shows that the results of the tepak kendang analysis were recorded and produced a variety of different selected drum sounds. Conclusion: The sound samples were arranged in a keymap system on the KONTAKT keyboard, based on a velocity range system, so that each sound type expression can function as a virtual instrument in a DAW (digital audio workstation) application via midi. Pre-production alpha testing results with two phases state that the virtual instrument of the Sundanese drum can run well. The implication of the product design of the virtual instrument of Sundanese drums is adequate and ready to be used as a means of creativity in digital music.

Abstract

The implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum emphasizes student-centered learning through authentic and meaningful experiences that support competency and character development. One learning approach aligned with these objectives is arts-based project learning through angklung performance. This study aimed to explore how angklung performance contributes to strengthening the artistic competence of Elementary School Teacher Education (PGSD) students within the context of the Merdeka Curriculum. A qualitative case study design was employed involving PGSD students at Nusa Putra University, Sukabumi, who participated in a series of angklung performance activities as part of project-based learning. Data were collected through participant observation, semi-structured interviews, reflective documentation, and field notes. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis supported by source triangulation and member checking to ensure trustworthiness. The findings revealed four major themes: improvement of musical and artistic skills, enhancement of collaborative learning and communication, strengthening of cultural awareness and appreciation of local heritage, and development of responsibility, discipline, and self-confidence. However, participants also encountered challenges related to limited musical backgrounds and restricted rehearsal time. The study demonstrates that angklung performance serves as an effective culturally responsive learning strategy that supports artistic competence development while promoting the values of the Pancasila Student Profile. These findings provide practical implications for integrating traditional arts into teacher education programs within the Merdeka Curriculum framework

Abstract

This study aims to investigate students’ preferences for digital platform features in vocal learning, examine the factors influencing those preferences, and explore their associations with learning motivation and learning outcomes. A quantitative cross-sectional survey design was employed involving 384 university students actively engaged in digital-based vocal learning. Data were collected through structured questionnaires, the construct validity of which was confirmed using confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). The data were subsequently analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential techniques, including independent-samples t-tests, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis. The findings revealed that audio-visual features received the highest preference rating (M = 4.32, SD = 0.68), followed by real-time feedback (M = 4.28), accessibility (M = 4.21), content personalization (M = 4.15), discussion forums (M = 3.97), and gamification (M = 3.89). Education level (F = 5.83, p = .003) and digital skill proficiency (F = 12.67, p < .001) significantly influenced students’ preferences, whereas gender showed no statistically significant difference (t = 1.42, p = .157). Furthermore, platform preferences demonstrated significant positive correlations with learning motivation (r = 0.52, p < .001) and learning outcomes (r = 0.41, p < .001). These findings provide practical implications for platform developers and educators in designing student-centered vocal learning environments that are responsive to contemporary learners’ needs.

Abstract

Kegiatan menyanyi keroncong bagi guru SMK mata pelajaran harus memenuhi hasil belajar sesuai dengan kurikulum yang berlaku. Salah satu caranya yaitu dengan menerapkan kreativitas dalam bernyanyi keroncong. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk mengaji keunggulan pelatihan lagu Keroncong untuk memicu kreativitas bernyanyi. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di Kabupaten Pangandaran pada bulan Agustus 2022. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatf dengan teknik pengumpulan data, observasi dan wawancara. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 21 orang guru partisipan pasif dan partisipan aktif berjumalh 7 orang dengan kegiatan pelatihan sebanyak 5 kali. Kegiatan pelatihan dilakukan dengan kegiatan penguatan sensitivitas rasa ritmik, melalui praktek musik ritmik pada lagu yang berjudul “Lagu Keroncong” dan “Kota Bandung”. Pelatihan dilanjutkan dengan kegiatan mengolah dan memperindah melodi lagu Keroncong dengan menggunakan ornament vocal. Metode penelitian yang diterapkan adalah kualitatif, deskriptif dengan cara menjelaskan dan menafsirkan proses dan hasil pelatihan kreatif bernyanyi Keroncong. Kegiatan pelatihan kreatif bernyanyi Keroncong berhasil memicu kreativitas partisipan, untuk mengelola motif dalam melodi baik secara ritmikal ataupun secara intervalis.
