Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the urgency of implementing sustainability reports that supports Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the higher education level. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method with the literature study and case study approaches. Data from the literature study were taken from various sources, i.e., research articles, books, websites, and other scientific references. Primary data from the case study were sourced from the results of the survey and interview at one of the state universities in Indonesia. The data processing and analysis include data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion making. Results showed that various organizations have produced sustainability reports regularly. This finding implied that for higher education institutions (especially the university service agencies and legal entity for state universities), the regular publishing of sustainability reports is a manifestation of the transparency of organizational actions towards the environment and society and that it could be a good example for other organizations. Therefore, higher education institutions can have a significant role as the main pillar to support the implementation of SDGs programs in all sectors in Indonesia.

Abstract

The credibility of financial reports is very important to increase the trust of parties outside the company. Several studies identified audit costing as providing credible evidence that a client's financial condition at risk demands more rigorous audit procedures. This study aims to identify whether Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Good Corporate Governance (GCG) have an impact on audit costs. The research data are companies that have been registered in the Corporate Governance Perception Index (CGPI) for the period 2016 to 2018. The study population was 50 companies, while the research sample was 33 companies using a purposive sampling technique. The results of the regression analysis show that CSR does no effect on audit costs, the CSR program carried out and disclosed by the company is not included in the audit of the client's business by the auditor. Thus, the size of the CSR disclosure cannot affect audit costs. Meanwhile, GCG has a positive effect on audit costs. Companies with a good CGPI score can pay more audit fees because they have higher financial standards, so they choose the big four KAP which are more integrated and qualified.

Abstract

Purpose : This study aims to determine whether Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Good Corporate Governance (GCG) affect audit costs and firm value, and to analyze the mediation relationship between audit costs and firm value. Design/methodology/approach : Data collection through this case is on companies in Indonesia that are listed on the Corporate Governance Perception Index (CGPI) between 2016 and 2018 with 33 firmyears observations. Findings: The results of the path analysis show that CSR has no effect on audit costs, CSR programs carried out and disclosed by the company are not included in the client's business audit by the auditor. The size of the CSR disclosure cannot affect the audit fee. Even though GCG has a positive effect on audit fees, companies with high CGPI scores can pay more audit fees because they have higher financial standards, so they choose the Big four KAP that are more integrated and have quality. Meanwhile, CSR and audit fees do not affect firm value. However, GCG has a significant negative effect on firm value. The analysis of the effect of mediation shows that audit fees cannot mediate between CSR and GCG on firm value. Research limitations/implications: Overall, the audit fee cannot reflect the company's risk which is taken into consideration in making investment decisions. This happens because in investment decisions, investors look more at short-term profits such as daily stock prices and profitability. Practical implications : This research can provide important implications for management and regulators, namely as an alternative in making investment decisions that can increase firm value. Paper type: This research is a development research that tries to analyze the indirect effect, so that researchers have a little difficulty determining the theories used to link the interplay of components that influence each other, so researchers must make an opinion to strengthen this research.

According to the Government Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia Number 60 of 2008 concerning the Government's Internal Control System, SPIP is an internal control system that is carried out thoroughly within the Central Government and Regional Governments. The important role of the SPIP is expected to create a culture of supervision over all activities in the entity so that early on it can detect the possibility of storage and minimize the occurrence of actions that can harm the state. SPIP which consists of elements of the Control Environment, Risk Assessment, Control Activities, Information and Communication, and Control Monitoring. The work of the KPU, both in Jember and other regions, is a phased work, which focuses on elections at both the central and regional levels so that the focus of work at this stage is that at this time SPIP reporting is only for administrative purposes. This is the reason why the author describes the phenomena that exist in the field, with the hope that in the future it will not only be an administrative complement but can be used as a control to increase the effectiveness of management at the Jember Regency KPU and can implement SPIP on an ongoing basis. The type of research used is qualitative research using a phenomenological study approach, because the author wants to describe the implementation of SPIP in Jember Regency KPU.

Abstract

As a source of funding in the industrial world and also as a forum for people who want to carry out investment activities, the capital market has a vital function in national development. This research is a quantitative research using logistic regression analysis model (Logit). This study uses two independent variables and one dependent variable in the form of a dummy variable on a nominal scale, which will be estimated using the T statistical test method. The results of SPSS output calculations using the T statistical test conclude that World Oil Prices and The Fed Interest Rate partially have no effect on the volatility of the Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) during the Covid-19 Pandemic. Each of these independent variables is not a good indicator for estimating the movement of the JCI during the Covid-19 pandemic and investors should not use it as the basis for making investment decisions in the stock market
