Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of the Self-Directed Learning (SDL) model on students’ learning motivation at SMA Negeri 1 Indralaya Utara. SDL is considered an approach that allows students to set goals, manage strategies, and reflect on their learning process, thereby strengthening intrinsic motivation. The study employed a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent control group design, involving one experimental and one control class. Data were collected through observation questionnaires on learning motivation during the learning process. Instrument testing confirmed validity and reliability with a Cronbach’s Alpha of 0.873. The data were normally distributed and homogeneous. The t-test showed a value of 3.421 with a p-value of 0.001 (< 0.05), indicating a significant difference between the experimental and control groups. The experimental group achieved a higher mean score (82.15) compared to the control group (74.32). These findings support Knowles’ SDL concept and Deci and Ryan’s Self-Determination Theory, which highlight autonomy and competence as key factors for intrinsic motivation. The study concludes that SDL is effective at the secondary school level, and teachers are encouraged to act as facilitators who foster students’ learning independence

Abstract

The research entitled "Increasing Students' Civic Learning Activeness Through the TGT Type Cooperative Learning Model (Team Games Tournament) in Class VII.1 SMP Negeri 10 Palembang" aims to determine the increase in student learning activeness in class VII.1 SMP Negeri 10 Palembang on PPKn subjects the subject of Working Together and Working Together The subjects of this study were students of class VII.1 Palembang State Middle School for the academic year 2022/2023, a total of 38 people. The method used in this research is Classroom Action Research, carried out in 3 cycles consisting of 6 meetings. Based on the results of the study, it was found that student activity in cycle I was 43.61% (19 people), cycle II student activity was 59.72% (26 people), and cycle III student activity was 69.86% (35 people). Abstract

The research was conducted using collaborative classroom action research methods whose aim was to improve student learning outcomes in Civics subjects. This research was conducted by meeting the needs of students for learning styles, namely visual and auditory. This research was conducted in 2 research cycles consisting of 4 stages, namely planning, action implementation, observation, evaluation, and reflection. The research was conducted on class X.3 students of SMA Negeri 6 Palembang. With the results of the study showing that in the pre-cycle only 8 (27.58%) students achieved a completeness score, while 29 students (72.42%) had not completed, with an average score of 55.17. In cycle I, students experienced an increase in the number of students who completed 19 students (49.28%) while students who had not completed totaled 18 students (50.72%) with an average value of 66.55. Then in cycle II there was a very high increase compared to the previous cycle, namely students who had reached the KKM totaled 36 students (96.55%), while students who had not yet completed numbered 1 student (3.45%) with an average value of 80 This research shows that the application of differentiated learning can improve the learning outcomes of students in class X.3 SMA Negeri 6 Palembang.

Abstract

Improving Motivation To Learn Civics Through The Use Of Learning Media Maze Boards In Junior High School Students. Teachers in general still choose conventional learning and still think that innovative learning takes up a lot of time in implementing it in class. The aim of the research was to increase the motivation to learn Civics in class VII.8 of SMP Negeri 10 Palembang through the application of the labyrinth board media. This form of research uses a class of action research known as which consists of several cycles. As the subject was class VII.8 students of SMP Negeri 10 Palembang, totaling 36 students. Based on the findings of research results regarding Increasing Student Learning Motivation Through Maze Board Media in Class VII.8 SMP Negeri 10 Palembang Application of Maze Board Learning Media on Cooperation and Mutual Cooperation Materials. This can be seen from the increase in the proportion of students' learning motivation. In the initial action, the proportion of 70% was classified as lacking, in the action cycle I, the proportion of 75% was classified as sufficient, in the action cycle II, the proportion of 88% was classified as good.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the existence of problems in PPKn learning, marked by students not being able to meet several indicators of learning comprehension. On the other hand, teachers still apply conventional learning methods, namely lectures. The lecture method commonly used by teachers is less efficient in its application so that it does not arouse students' interest in boring learning. As a result, students do not fully understand the subjects they are studying. The purpose of this study is to improve students' learning comprehension abilities towards PPKn learning by implementing the pair checks learning model in class VIII.2 of SMP Negeri 10 Palembang. The design of this study is based on classroom action research carried out by a teacher in the classroom. The action plan in each cycle of this research is grouped into four stages, namely: 1. Planning stage, 2. Action implementation stage, 3. Observation/observation stage, 4. Reflection. Research data were obtained through test sheets and documentation. The success criteria determined in the study were 60%. The results of the study showed that in cycle I the level of students' understanding ability increased from the original 40% to 50% but the success criteria set had not been met. Improvements were made in cycle I to continue cycle II which increased by 11% to 61% which means that the intervention was declared successful because it achieved the success set. The success of this study was achieved through improvements made in each cycle.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Scout extracurricular activities on the leadership character of students at SMA Negeri 1 Indralaya. The leadership character is examined through five indicators: relationship-building, agility and adaptability, digital competence, broad insight, and acting as an agent of change. Employing a quantitative approach with a descriptive method, data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. The population comprised 34 Scout members, all of whom were included as samples using a saturated sampling technique. The simple linear regression analysis revealed a positive and significant influence of Scout extracurricular activities on students' leadership character, with a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0,420 or 42%. This indicates that 42% of the variation in students' leadership character can be explained by their participation in Scout activities, while the remaining 58% is influenced by other factors. These findings suggest that Scout activities such as marching drills, routine training, and camping effectively foster practical and contextually relevant leadership values in students' daily lives.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the efforts of Civics teachers in implementing inter-religious tolerance at Kusuma Bangsa High School Palembang. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data collection techniques in this study used interviews, documentation, and observation techniques. The analysis techniques used in this study include data reduction, data presentation and conclusions. As a formal educational institution, schools are an important part of efforts to instil national character and religious guidance to students. Teachers as educators play an important role in efforts to instil an attitude of tolerance between religious communities in schools. Professional competent, and knowledgeable teachers not only act as teachers, but also educate, guide, direct, train, assess, and evaluate students. The things that the Pancasila and Civic Education teacher of Kusuma Bangsa Palembang High School does in improving the religious tolerance of students, namely modelling and fostering tolerance to students through habituation of praying in class and religious activities at school and fostering appreciation for differences through tolerance-based learning in accordance with the material taught.

Abstract

This research aims to determine how teachers perceive the Artificial Intelligence (AI) program in learning activities at SMA Negeri 1 Indralaya Utara. The study employs a qualitative approach using descriptive qualitative methods. Sampling techniques utilized purposive sampling with three informants. Based on the analysis results, it can be concluded that teachers' perceptions of the Artificial Intelligence (AI) program in learning activities at SMA Negeri 1 Indralaya Utara are positive, receiving strong support from teachers for the AI program in the learning process at school. The experience, benefits, impacts, and significant role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) assist students and teachers in exploring knowledge and aid in creating learning media efficiently and automatically.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the efforts of Civic Education teachers in enhancing students’ learning motivation at SMP Negeri 1 Tulung Selapan. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and were analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that teachers applied various strategies to foster students’ learning motivation. First, providing rewards and appreciation in the form of verbal praise, thumbs-up gestures, good grades, and simple gifts such as snacks and stationery. Second, creating a conducive learning atmosphere by maintaining classroom cleanliness, arranging seats neatly, and beginning lessons with ice-breaking activities. Third, applying varied teaching methods such as lectures, group discussions, question-and-answer sessions, quizzes, and educational games like crossword puzzles and word scrambles. Fourth, implementing objective assessments based on the Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKM) and offering remedial programs for students who had not met the standard. Fifth, delivering feedback in the form of praise, corrections, learning summaries, and constructive suggestions. Lastly, fostering positive relationships with students through open communication, providing opportunities for discussion, and resolving conflicts wisely.These findings are in line with experts’ opinions that learning motivation is influenced by both intrinsic and extrinsic factors. Teachers’ efforts in giving rewards, creating a comfortable learning environment, employing varied teaching methods, and building positive relationships with students have been proven to increase enthusiasm, interest, and participation in the learning process. Therefore, teachers play roles not only as knowledge transmitters but also as facilitators and motivators in education.
