Abstract

Materi struktur dan fungsi sel merupakan materi yang sangat penting namun banyak peserta didik yang tidak mendapatkan hasil belajar kognitif maksimal dikarenakan strategi belajar dan media pembelajaran yang kurang efektif. Index card match bergambar diprediksi sesuai untuk mengatasi masalah-masalah dalam pembelajaran materi struktur dan fungsi sel. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh penggunaan index card match bergambar terhadap motivasi belajar dan hasil belajar kognitif peserta didik. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan quasi experimental dengan desain non equivalent control group. Subjek penelitan adalah kelas XI MIA 1 (kelas eksperimen) dan MIA 2 (kelas kontrol) SMA Negeri 1 Purwodadi. Data motivasi belajar diperoleh dari lembar observasi dan data kognitif diperoleh dari nilai posttest, LKPD, dan laporan praktikum. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji independent t test. Nilai motivasi belajar kelas eksperimen berada pada kriteria tinggi, sedangkan kelas kontrol berada pada kriteria sedang. Hasil uji independent t test nilai motivasi belajar menunjukkan nilai sig (2-tailed) 0,015. Nilai rata-rata posttest kelas eksperimen 75, sedangkan nilai rata-rata kognitif kelas kontrol 70. Hasil uji independet t test menunjukkan sig (2-tailed) 0,023. Baik data motivasi, maupun data ranah kognitif mempunyai nilai sig (2-tailed) lebih rendah dari 0,05. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara nilai motivasi belajar dan posttest antara kelas eksperimen dengan kelas konrol. Nilai akhir ranah kognitif kelas ekaperimen menunjukkan ketuntasan klasikal 83%, sedangkan kelas kontrol 55,5%. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah strategi belajar index card match bergambar berpengaruh signifikan terhadap motivasi dan hasil belajar kognitif peserta didik pada materi struktur dan fungsi sel. Cell structure and function contentis a very important matter, but many students are not getting maximum cognitive learning score because learning strategies and learning media are less effective. Index cards match pictorial deemed appropriate to address the problems in a matter of cell structure and function learning. This study aimed to examine the effect of using index cards match display against students’ motivation and cognitive learning outcomes. This study uses a quasi-experimental design with non-equivalent control group design. Research sample class XI MIA 1 (experiment class) and MIA 2 (control class) SMA Negeri 1 Purwodadi. Data obtained from the learning motivation observation sheets and cognitive data obtained from the value posttest, LKPD and practical reports. Data were analyzed using independent t-test. Score of experiment class learning motivation is at high criteria, while the control class that is in the middle criteria. The test results independent t test showed that value of learning motivation sig (2-tailed) 0.015. The average value posttest experiment class 75, while the average value of cognitive control class 70. The test results showed sig independent t-test (two-tailed) 0.023. Both the data and the data of cognitive motivation has value sig (2-tailed) is lower than 0.05, this indicates that there are significant differences between value of learning motivation and posttest experiment and control class. The final value of cognitive domain showed that classical completeness of experiment class 83%, while the control class 55.5%. The conclusion of this study is to learn strategy index card match display significant effect on motivation and cognitive learning outcomes of students in the material structure and function of cells.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan model TPS terintegrasi Mind mapping terhadap kreativitas dan hasil belajar siswa materi Archaebacteria dan Eubacteria di MAN 2 Brebes pada semester ganjil tahun ajaran 2015/2016. Metode penelitian yang digunakan Quasi Experiment dengan desain Noneequivalent Control Group Pretest-Postest Design. Sampel penelitian yang digunakan adalah kelas X MIA 3 berjumlah 38 siswa sebagai kelas kontrol yang dan X MIA 4 berjumlah 32 siswa sebagai kelas eksperimen diambil dengan teknik Purposive Sampling. Prosedur penelitian meliputi tahap persiapan, pelaksanaan dan penyelesaian. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah metode observasi, tugas, tes, dan angket. Data kreativitas berupa hasil observasi dan hasil Mind mapping yang dibuat siswa. Hasil belajar kognitif diperoleh dari peningkatan nilai Pre-test dan Post-test. Hasil perhitungan kreativitas menunjukkan bahwa kelas eksperimen mencapai kriteria kreatif sedangkan kelas kontrol kurang kreatif. Analisis untuk mengetahui pengaruh model terhadap kreativitas dan hasil belajar dilakukan dengan uji Independent Samples t Test. Hasil uji t data kreativitas siswa menunjukan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kelas kontrol yang menggunakan model konvensional dengan kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan model TPS. N-Gain kedua kelas juga terbukti berbeda signifikan. Berdasarkan hasil pembahasan dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model TPS terintegrasi Mind mapping berpengaruh terhadap kreativitas dan hasil belajar siswa materi Archaebacteria dan Eubacteria. This research aimed to discover the effect of applyingTPS model integrated with Mind mapping to the students’ creativity and learning achievement inArchaebacteria and Eubacteria subject in MAN 2 Brebes in the first semester inthe academic year 2015/2016. It appliedthe Quasi Experiment with Noneequivalent Control Group Pretest-Postest Design. The sample of the researchused were38 students of X MIA 3 as the class control and 32 students of X MIA 4 as the experimental classby applying Purposive Sampling technique. The procedure of the research included the steps of preparing, conductingandfinishing. The technique to collect the data was done by observation, assignments, tests, and questionnaire. The data of creativity was presented as the observation result and Mind mapping resultmade by the students. The result of cognitive learning was gained by from the improvementon the score in Pre-test and Post-test. The result from the creativity counting shows thatthe experimental classachieves the criteria of creativitywhile class control is less creative. The analysis used for discovering the effect of the model to the students’ creativity and learning achievement is done by Independent samples t test. Based on the result of t test, the data of students’ creativity presents a significant difference between class control which applied conventional model and experimental class which applied TPS. Both of the classes’ N-Gain prove a significant difference. Based on the previous discussion, it can be concluded that the application of TPS model which is integrated with Mind mapping effects on the students’ creativity and learning achievement in Archaebacteria dan Eubacteria subject.

Abstract

Teachers and students have difficulty in observing protist spesies. The basic competence 3.5 oblige thestudents to apply the principle of protist grouping classification carefully and systematically. Therefore, thereshould be a media of culture protist along with its way and the students’ observation worksheet for protists.This research is aimed to develop the valid and effective culture media of protist for class practice activities inProtist Material. This research used Research and Development (R&D) method. Small scale trials weredone to 10 students using purposive random sampling. Big scale trials were done to 64 students. The validityof protist culture was scored using validity sheets by validator, then was analyzed in percentage description.The effectivity score of protist culture media was obtained based students’ processing skills score. The result ofthe research showed that protist culture media was considered valid by experts with the average score of90,1%. The observation of students’ skills showed that both classes of the research has classical grade of85,3% and 87,1%. Based on the results, it can be concluded that protist culture media with its guidance andstudents’ observation worksheet was valid and effective to be used by Senior High School students.

Abstract

Zygomycota and Ascomycota Classesare classified as the Fungi Kingdom groups It is needed to hold a practicum activity in the fungi grouping learning. Nevertheless, the tools and materials at school to observe the fungi are inadequate. Therefore, it is necessary to hold a fungi practicum which accompanied with a students worksheet that is able to develop the students’ science process skills so that the teachers and the students are able to achieve the learning objectives of the Fungi material. This study aims to analyze the students' science process skills after the application of guided-inquiry learning model in the fungi practicum activity. The study used pre-experimental design method with one-shot case study design as the research method. Furthermore, the students’ understanding level is obtained based on the results of the students' skill score, such as the ability to observe and to conduct an experiment which able to reach the defined completeness criteria. The result shows that the observation skills score of class X.MIA.1 and class X.MIA.3 were 85% and 91% and the experimental skills score of class X.MIA 1 and class X.MIA.3 were 85.7% and 88.5%. The understanding of fungi material is classified successful in Fungi practicum learning activity due to the classical completeness that reaches above 85%.

Abstract

This study analyses the students' problem solving and metacognitive abilities by applying the BSCS 5E model based on multiple representations to ecosystem material. This research is a pre-experiment using the One-Shot Case Study design. The research pupils were students of class X SMA N 1 Donorojo in the 2019/2020 academic year. The research sample was class X MIPA 2 and X MIPA 5, taken by purposive sampling. The methods used in data collection include tests, interviews and questionnaires. The results showed that the problem-solving ability was in the "medium" category with an average score of 58.8 and the students' final score was in the "medium" category with an average of 60.4. Metacognitive abilities are in the "ok" category. The study journal is in the "high" category. Also the implementation of the learning model is in the "high" category. The calculation results obtained rcount ꞊ 0.509 while rtable with dk ꞊ 65 and a significant level of 5% is 0.244. Because rcount> rtable, HO reject and accept H1 means a significant relationship between problem-solving and metacognitive abilities. Contribution of problem-solving abilities to metacognitive abilities was 26%. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the students ' problem-solving abilities are in the "medium" category and the students' metacognitive abilities are "ok" by applying the BSCS 5E model based on multiple representations on ecosystem material.

Abstract

Learning on 21 centuries is not only focused on improving students' learning achievement but also focused on developing students' skills and abilities. One of them is to develop the students' science process and creative thinking skills. Guided discovery is one of the learning methods that is suggested for showing those students' skills. This research is aimed to know the result of achievement on students’ science process and creative thinking skills on fungus material. The method used was pre-experimental by using a One group pre-test post-test design to conduct the research. The population of the research was all students of class X MIPA SMAN 8 Semarang in the academic year 2019/2020. The sample of the research used the purposive sampling technique. The result found that students’ science process skills in this research showed the result of each aspect got very good criteria in two experimental classes. The result of students’ creative thinking got classical achievement that was 94.36% by the number of students that reached it was 67 students of 71 sample. The improvement in students’ creative thinking result got an improvement by N-gain score 0,73 with high criteria. Based on the result of analysing the research, it can be concluded that the Guided Discovery learning method can improve students’ achievement of the science process and creative thinking skills.

Abstract

Biology is a subject that involves the scientific process in its teaching and learning activity so that it requires a learning model which can apply that scientific process, one of which is guided inquiry. The learning subject of virus is abstract, cannot be seen directly in everyday life and is microscopic in nature within which requires visual presence, not only verbal explanation so that students can fulfil their basic competence, namely analyzing (C4) which is included in the category of high-level thinking. In the learning model implemented at SMA N 1 Lasem, the teacher has not yet developed students’ critical thinking skills. One of the learning models that can be applied to improve critical thinking skills is guided inquiry based on multiple representations. The aim of this research is to determine the effectiveness of the implementation of guided inquiry in the learning subject of virus based on multiple representations toward students’ critical thinking skills. This research is an experimental research with a pre-test post-test control group design. The sample was class of X MIPA 3 as the experimental class and class of X MIPA 5 as the control class. The researchers used purposive sampling technique. The data collection methods were tests, observations, and questionnaires. The result showed that the average post-test mark of the experimental class was higher than that of the control class; that is 80.1 with classical completeness up to 92% and N-gain of 0.46 categorized as medium in the experimental class, while in the control class, the average post-test mark is 72.5 with a classical completeness of 78% and N-gain of 0.24 categorized as low. These results were strengthened by a questionnaire on students responses, teacher responses and observations of the learning process which gave a positive response with ≥ 75% categorized as good to the guided inquiry learning model based on multiple representations in the learning subject of virus. Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded that the implementation of guided inquiry based on multiple representations in the learning subject of virus is effective in improving students’ critical thinking skills.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the effectiveness of the discovery learning assisted by teaching materials based on multi-representation to improve students' critical thinking skills and independent learning attitudes. The research applied used a pre-experiment type one group pretest-posttest design. The population in this study were students of class X MIPA SMA N 1 Kayen for the academic year 2020/2021. The samples in this study were students of class X MIPA 2 and X MIPA 7. The results showed that the two sample classes experienced an increase in critical thinking skills of 0.54 in the medium category and an increase in independent learning attitudes by 0.45 in the medium category. Before treatment, the pretest results were obtained with the results of 1.39% being a very critical category, 9.72% critical, 38.89% quite critical, and 50% less critical. After being treated with the application of the discovery model with multi-representation-based learning tools, the post test results showed that 26.39% of students were in the very critical category, 61.11% in the critical category, and 12.5% ​​in the moderately critical category. From the results of the N-Gain test, students experienced an increase of 18.06% in the high category, 65.28% in the medium category, and 16.67% in the low category. Classically, 81.94% of students complete the KKM. The independent learning attitude of students has increased by 0.45, namely in the medium category. Students experienced an increase of 18.03% in the high category, 63.89% in the medium category, and 18.06% in the low category. Before learning, 25% of the students were in the very independent category, 63.89% of the students were in the independent category, and 11.1% of the students were in the moderately independent category. After learning, 80.56% of students in the very independent category, 18.05% of students in the independent category, and 1.39% in the moderately independent category. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the application of the discovery learning with multi-representation-based learning tools on ecosystem materials is effective for improving students' critical thinking skills and independent attitudes.

Abstract

This study aims to develop science literacy-based digital teaching materials that are feasible, practical, and effective for improving students' critical thinking on the sub-materials of energy flow and biogeochemical cycles. This type of research is research and development (RnD). The method used in research and development refers to the ADDIE development model. The population in this study were students in grades XI Mipa and X SMA Negeri 15 Semarang in the 2022/2023 academic year. MIPA 7 for small-scale trials and 60 students from each of 30 students X-1 and X-2. The data collection techniques used were interviews, questionnaires and tests. Based on data analysis, the feasibility test results of science literacy-based digital teaching materials by material experts amounted to 85% and media experts amounted to 82%. The results of the practicality test analysis by teachers in both scale trials were 90% and the results of the practicality test analysis by students in both scale trials were 84%. From all the results of the analysis, it is included in the category of very feasible and practical. To determine the effectiveness of science literacy-based digital teaching materials, pretests and posttests in classes X-1 and X-2 were conducted and then calculated using the N-Gain test based on aspects. The results of the N-Gain test for the science literacy aspect in both classes were 0.64% and the N-Gain test for the critical thinking ability aspect in both classes was 0.62%. This shows that classes X-1 and X-2 on improving science literacy and critical thinking skills are at moderate criteria. It can be concluded that the use of science literacy-based digital teaching materials is effective for improving students critical thinking skills in the sub-materials of energy flow and biogeochemical cycles.
