Abstract

This study analyzes the implementation of Extinction Rebellion (XR) global values by XR Riau in building a local climate movement amid environmental crises in Riau Province. The focus is on three key values: shared vision of change, mission on what is necessary, and regenerative culture. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach through interviews and literature review. The results show that XR Riau implements these values through public education, symbolic nonviolent actions, and the development of collective awareness. These values shape movement direction, issue prioritization, and internal sustainability. However, challenges remain, including low public awareness, limited capacity, and safety concerns. Abstract

The Malacca Strait border region is a narrow area separating North Rupat, Indonesia, from Malacca, Malaysia. The Strait of Malacca varies considerably in width, ranging from 27 to 115 Nautical Miles (NM). The Strait, separating North Rupat from Malacca, Malaysia, is only about 20.99 Nautical Miles (NM). It is a highly strategic fishing and shipping zone, but is highly vulnerable to illegal practices, both from North Rupat and from abroad, including neighboring Malaysia. This study employed qualitative methods, collecting survey data from fishermen and the local government of North Rupat District. The theory used is regime compliance, to determine whether the regulations implemented in North Rupat are in accordance with the provisions of UNCLOS 1982. The constructivist perspective used is commonly used in conjunction with regime theory. This perspective explains that regional regulations are adopted from the international regime. The results of this study that the North Rupat government has implemented a series of efforts, including outreach and patrols, to address the practice of fishermen taking fish into Malaysian waters. These efforts have succeeded in reducing the number of small-scale fishermen taking and selling fish in the area by 2024. Abstract

This study aims to identify the strategy of PT Humpuss Maritim Internasional (HUMI) in supporting Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) point 14 on life below water through the implementation of the Humpuss Blue Commitment. The research employs a qualitative descriptive method using interviews and literature review. The findings show that HUMI’s strategy is implemented through proper ballast water management, the use of Oil Water Separator (OWS) technology, improved ship waste management, and environmental initiatives such as mangrove planting and employee awareness programs. The implementation of these strategies has strengthened environmental compliance within the company, as reflected in the absence of violations in 2024. However, the company still faces challenges in building sustainability awareness among employees, which continue to be addressed through policy reinforcement and ongoing innovation. Keywords: PT Humpuss Maritim Internasional, Sustainable Development Goals, Life Below Water.

Abstract

This study analyzes the policies of the Polish government in addressing irregular migration during the period 2021–2024. The main focus of this research is to understand how Poland responds to the increasing flow of migrants, particularly those involving illegal entry and illegal stay. This period is significant due to the rise in migration pressure, especially following the Poland–Belarus border crisis in 2021. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive-analytical approach. Data were collected through literature review, including official documents from the Polish government, European Union reports, and publications from international organizations. The analysis examines the relationship between migration dynamics and the policies implemented by the Polish government. The findings show that Poland has adopted relatively restrictive policies in dealing with irregular migration, such as strengthening border control, building physical barriers along its borders, and rejecting the European Union’s migrant relocation mechanism. These policies are largely based on considerations of national security, state sovereignty, and domestic political pressures.obstacles.
