Abstract

The increasing prevalence of obesity throughout the country could lead to an increase in themetabolic syndrome, it is caused by the wrong diet (excessive intake) with a highconsumption of simple carbohydrates, high in fat and low in fiber and do not get used toconsume a balanced diet. Nearly one-third (33.1%) of adults in North Sulawesi is included inthe category of overweight (overweight) and obese. This figure is more than three times thenational rate of 10.3%. The prevalence of adults overweight and obese Tomohon highest inurban areas and Manado, respectively 40% and lowest in MongondowBolaang (20%). Thisinformation further confirms that North Sulawesi tackle nutrition double burden, both ininfants and adults, especially adult women. This research is an observational study and use cross-sectional study design. The researchwas conducted over three months (December 2010 to February 2011) in Manado City NorthSulawesi province. The underlying research for determining the location of North Sulawesi ingeneral and especially the city of Manado has a specific diet and are likely exposed to foodsthat are high in protein, fats, simple sugars, and foods with a salty taste. The population inthis study were all religious leaders in the city of Manado numbered 6770 people. Theminimum sample is determined based on the formula of the sample to the data is limitedproportion of the population numbered 147 people and taken by systematic randomsampling. The results of this study indicate that there is a highly significant relationship betweenphysical activity, unhealthy eating patterns (risk foods) with the occurrence of central obesityp<0.01 this was confirmed by the results of logistic regression analysis on the step to 6 showthat a high protein intake a variable / risk factor greater influence on the occurrence ofcentral obesity compared to other risk factors Exp B = 6.87, p<0.001 (95% CI 2.52 to 18.70).In other words the more central obesity was found 7 times greater in subjects with risk offood intake, especially high intake of protein compared to other risk food intake and physicalactivity. The prevalence of central obesity on religious leaders in the city of Manado in this study was67.34%. Diet in this case is a high protein intake is the most influential variable on theoccurrence of central obesity on religious leaders in the city of Manado than other riskfactors of food intake and physical activity

Abstract

Nutritional adequacy are needed by every individual since the fetus is still inthe womb, babies, children, adolescence, adulthood, to old age. Mother orexpectant mother is vulnerable group because it requires adequate nutritionshould be maintained nutritional status and health in order to give birth tohealthy babies. Poor nutrition is one of the most common nutritional disorderthat occurs during pregnancy that lead to iron deficiency anemia. Many ofthese mothers provide little iron to the fetus is needed for normal ironmetabolism, then they become iron deficiency anemia and hemoglobinlevels fell below the mother 11gr% during the third trimester. Consumption ofMoringa leaves (Moringa oleifera) is one alternative to tackling malnutrition inIndonesia. The results of modern scientific research proving that Moringaleaves are one source of plant-based foods rich in nutrients. The content ofnutrients in the leaves of Moringa is 7 times the vitamin C in oranges, 4times the vitamin A in carrots, 4 times the calcium in milk, 3 times thepotassium in bananas, 3 times the iron in spinach and 2 times the proteinfound in yogurt or protein inside an egg. This study aims to determine theincrease in hemoglobin levels in pregnant women who suffer from anemiaafter using moringa leaf powder. The design of the study is a quasiexperimental that are one group pretest-posttest design. The population ispregnant trimester II-III; Samples are pregnant trimester II-III with anemiaand total sample of 35 people. Moringa leaf powder Dosage: 2 x 2 capsulesorally daily (Moringa leaf powder contains 500 mg / capsule) was given for30 days. Examination using Hemometer Sahli. The results of the comparativehypothesis testing with Wilcoxon test between Hemoglobin levels before andafter treatment values obtained significancy 0.000 (p < 0.05), so it can beconcluded that there were significant differences between the Hemoglobinlevels before treatment and after treatment. It was concluded thatsupplementation with powdered moringa leaves (Moringa oleifera) canimprove hemoglobin levels in pregnant women suffering from anemia.

Some research results reinforce that opinion , where theprevalence of malnutrition in patients new entry in Latin America shows 50.2 points and3 major hospitals in Indonesia ( Sardjito hospital Yogyakarta , Sanglah hospital Bali,Jamil hospital Padang) reported 56.9 % .The results showed a significant increase in albumin levels in patients who receivedpostoperative dietary extra filtrate cork fish . Increase in serum albumin was also noadverse effect to the increase in blood triglycerides . As research results Suprayitno et al. (2003 ) , showed that administration of filtrate cork fish can increase levels of serumalbumin and a new wound healing scar . A set of case studies , providing extrainformation that the administration menu filtrate cork fish was positively correlated withincreased levels of albumin and wound healing process . Increased levels of albumin ,patients who have an extra menu filtrate cork fish are relatively higher than white eggs. The problems of the study is how the effectiveness of catfish protein in patients withhypoalbuminemia indication . Benefits of this research include: to provide a newalternative in the management of diet especially in patients with hypoalbuminemiaindication .This research uses a quasi-experimental design of pre and post test , this study willprovide an overview of the effectiveness of cork fish protein in patients withhypoalbuminemia indication . The experiment was conducted in the department of Prof. .Dr. . R.D. Kandou Manado in July - September 2013 . The population in this study wereall patients with hypoalbuminemia indications shown by the results of laboratory tests .Of the subjects in this study 16 patients with criteria for men and women , cooperative ,and approved informed consent and the approval of the hospital and ethics committeethe Ministry of Health polytechnic Manado . Subjects using the technique of determiningsubjective instrument global assessment ( SGA ).Processing and data analysis using univariate analysis to determine thecharacteristics of the frequency distribution of the variable . Bivariate test by using apaired t - test . Then followed by a multivariate analysis using linear regression .Theresults are significant differences in albumin before and albumin after intervention with -average increase of 0.31 mg / dl . Multivariate test variables explained that the effect ofthe intake of energy , protein , fat and duration of cork fish nuggets on levels of albuminby 60 % , the rest is influenced by other variables not amined .Conclusion there are differences in initial levels of albumin and albumin levels after theend of the intervention, and no catfish nugget effect of the increase in albumin levels ofpatients with hypoalbuminemia

Abstract

One of the main challenges currently facing the health sector in Indonesia is chronic child malnutrition. Although many health developments and advances have been made in Indonesia over the past few years, the problem of stunting remains significant. The results of Basic Health Research showed that the prevalence of stunting in Indonesia in 2013 was 37.2%. The results of the Nutrition Status Assessment (PSG), in the province of North Sulawesi, the prevalence of stunting according to the TB / U index in 2017 increased by 31.4%. For Kotamobagu City the prevalence of stunting is 38.1%. To determine the relationship of nutrient intake and the level of family income to the incidence of stunting in children aged 3-5 years in the work area of Upai City Health Center, Kotamobagu. This study used a cross sectional design with a sample size of 41 people. The results of this study indicate there is a relationship between iron intake with stunting, whereas energy intake has no relationship with stunting, protein intake has no relationship with stunting events, vitamin A intake has no relationship with stunting, and family income levels have no relationship with stunting. There is a relationship between iron intake and the incidence of stunting while the intake of energy, protein, vitamin A and the level of family income have no relationship with the incidence of stunting.
