NEAR-DUPLICATE REAL-LIFE FACE IMAGE a Intan Yuniar Purbasari, bBudi Nugroho a,bTeknik Informatika, Fakultas Teknologi Industri, UPN “Veteran” Jawa Timur, Indonesia Jl. Kata kunci: Content-Based Image Retrieval, Local Derivative Pattern, Two-tier Inverted File, Real-life Face Image. Abstract Content-based image retrieval (CBIR) is an image retrieval method based on the analysis of numerical characteristics of the image at the absence of text information. An efficient similarity search in ultra-high dimensional space has been proposed using two-tier inverted file and Local Derivative Patterns (LDP) as feature extraction method with high accuracy and high performance on experimental face image data sets. However, real-life images have different size, resolution and a potential noise. It is unknown whether LDP would show the same satisfactory result given real-life image data sets. This research designed and developed a face search engine to find near-duplicate face in real life images using LDP method to extract image features and two-tier inverted file for multidimensional indexing process. A state expansion method was also introduced to capture more detailed description of image histogram by considering neighbor information. The experiment was performed on 8,083 reallife face images of various sizes between 20x20 to 80x80. The data set contained duplicate copies of face images with some transformation processes. The search result returned top 20 images which had the most similarity with the query images and had an average precision rate of 0.75 or 75%. Abstract

Facial recognition is one of the most popular issues in the field of pattern recognition.Face recognition with uncontrolled lighting conditions is more significant than thephysical characteristics of individual faces. Uncontrolled lighting from the right and leftcan affect the face image. A lot of research on facial recognition, but little attention givento the face image is symmetrical object. Several studies to explore and exploit thesymmetrical properties of the face for face recognition were performed. In this paper, wepropose a pre-processing method to solve one of the common problems in facial imageswith varying illumination. We utilize the symmetric property of the face then performedgamma correction then classified using Robust Regression. The results of this experimentgot an average accuracy of 94.31% and the proposed technique improves recognitionaccuracy especially in images with extreme lighting conditions using gamma correctionparameters γ = 0.3.

Abstract

One of the important competencies in the field of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is Computer Network (which includes the development of Information Technology infrastructure and computer network security). One part of competence in the Computer Network scope is the use of Mikrotik equipment that is needed in the practical field. Currently, many agencies and industries whose computer network infrastructure use Mikrotik-based devices. The development of activity program that leads students to the preparation of this competency is clearly necessary. With regard to the competence of Mikrotik's own expertise, the existence of a Mikrotik certificate becomes proof that someone has mastered this competency. To get this certificate, of course, must follow the Mikrotik Certification program which cost is relatively expensive. In addition, this certification program is quite difficult to pass. So anyone who wants to follow this certification needs preparation adequately. The grant program of UPN "Veteran" of East Java (JARIT) which has been implemented aims to direct the Laboratory at the Faculty of Computer Science not only for the activities of the Practicum course, but also as the Center for the preparation of students in improving their competence, especially those related to the Professional Certification, Mikrotik devices. The hope when graduating students will not only have an undergraduate degree but also professional competence through Certification.

Abstract

The academic transcripts management system in UPN "Veteran" of East Java is currently arranged based on the courses that have been taken by students who are sorted alphabetically. The problem is there is no information about the courses in each semester, so the academic transcript can not be used to know the progress of student learning. It also can not know whether there is a course that has not been taken in the previous semesters, because it can affect the process of taking courses in the next semester related to the rules of the prerequisite course. The system also lists all the courses that have been taken by the student although re-taking the course. Thus, grade point average/GPA on the Transcript is actually less valid, since the calculation of GPA should only be based on the course with the best score (when the student repeats the same course). In addition, how to know which courses have graduated and not graduated must be done through manual examination. These problems are currently done manually, which is certainly very inefficient. In this study, the application system was developed to manage the Academic Transcripts (Information System of Academic Transcripts Management). In this system, courses of old curriculum will be converted to new curriculum courses. Transcript only include graduated courses, classified per semester on the current Curriculum. The system is also designed to provide information on what courses have been taken and which have not. With this new system, the management of Academic Transcripts can be done more effectively and efficiently, thereby reducing errors and abuse intentionally or unintentionally. This certainly supports the performance of academic supervision by leaders at the level of study program, faculty, and university.

Abstract

Currently, Face Recognition Technology has been widely implemented in various fields of life. One of them is to verify someone's identity. In this research, an application system has been developed related to the process of recording student attendance in a lecture class, where student attendance is obtained from faces data taken from image acquisition in a classroom. Automatically, face recognition results are inputed into the presence system. In this system, the lecturer can verify the results of the automatic attendance made by the system. This verification process is needed because the face recognition process carried out by the system cannot reach 100% accuracy. So, the student attendance record in class can be valid.

Abstract

The School of TK Al Wahyu Surabaya has difficulties in managing student data (especially students registered in the previous few years), so the school management only focuses on the list of students in the current academic year. Data management manually takes a long time, the accuracy of the people who handle it, and is very susceptible to human error. Based on the field survey that has been carried out, school managers have difficulty managing data recorded on papers and computer files, especially when the school has to send report data to the relevant City Government Education Office. Through this community service activity (PIHAT Program), the Proposing Team offers a solution to these problems by implementing the Student Management System at TK Al-Wahyu Surabaya. In this system, student data management is carried out using web-based software to facilitate data gathering, automatic data retrieval, and student data mapping. The activity steps needed to realize the proposed solution include system requirements analysis, system customization, server & network infrastructure preparation, system installation, data entry to the system, training and assistance for system operation, evaluation of problems that arise during system operation, improvement of the system to overcome obstacles that arise and ensure the system can run according to plan, as well as final evaluation to determine the effectiveness of system implementation. Based on the activities that have been carried out, the installation of the application system and the process of assisting school administrators and admins for the operation of the system have been carried out. School administrators are very enthusiastic about implementing this system. This system supports data management and reporting to the City Government Education Office. For TK Al Wahyu Surabaya, the application of this system is a new breakthrough for schools, which have been accustomed to manual work, then use software-based methods that are faster and more effective.
