Abstract

Moringa leaves (Moringa oleifera L.) are a plant that is widely consumed by Indonesian people and has high nutrition and antioxidants. Utilization of Moringa leaves as a health supplement requires an innovative dosage form to make it practical to use, one of which is by making it in the form of effervescent tablets. The purpose of this study was to obtain an optimal formula for effervescent tablets of aqueous extract of Moringa leaves (Moringa oleifera L.). This study was an experimental study, by preparing effervescent tablets of aqueous extract of Moringa leaves using 3 different formulas using the wet granulation method. The physical stability of the effervescent tablets obtained was then evaluated. The evaluation results were analyzed to obtain the optimal formula from the 3 formulas. The research results obtained showed that F3 was a formula that had good physical stability of granules and tablets. Granules from F3 have an angle of repose of 22.45°, and a compressibility percentage of 12.67%. F3 effervescent tablets have a weight uniformity that does not exceed 5% or 10%, size uniformity that is not more than 3 times the thickness of the tablet, and a faster dissolving time compared to other formulas, namely 1 minute 22 seconds. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the optimal formula of the 3 formulas is F3 with an acid and base concentration of 20% each.

Abstract

The cytotoxicity test is a screening test used to evaluate the reaction of live cells to implants in cell culture tests. This study aims to determine the cytotoxic activity of akar kedayan in fertilized Tripneustes gratilla eggs, which have an impact on inhibiting the development of fertile cells. This study used an experimental method by comparing the inhibition of Tripneustes gratilla egg cell division in the ethanol extract group of akar kedayan at concentrations of 10, 100, and 1000 ppm, with negative control, then observing embryo cell division at 1, 2, 4, and 12 hours. After fertilization, a comparative statistical analysis was conducted using the ANOVA test, followed by the Tukey HSD Post Hoc Test. The results showed that the negative control and 10 ppm concentration did not inhibit the division of the fertile Tripneustes gratilla eggs (P-value>0.05), while the ethanol extracts of 100 and 1000 ppm significantly inhibited the division of Tripneustes gratilla eggs (P-value< 0.05). This study concludes that the ethanol extract of akar kedayan has cytotoxic ability by inhibiting the development of Tripneustes gratilla fertile eggs with the optimum cytotoxic dose range at concentrations of 10-100 ppm.

Abstract

Dialkyl-alginate biosurfactant is an amphifilik rhamnolipid biosurfactant that has the potential to be developed into an antibacterial agent. The purpose of this study was to prove that the biosurfactant of dialkyl alginate both before and after creams has antibacterial activity especially against Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Test of antibacterial activity of biosurfactant dialkyl alginate at concentrations of 5%, 10% and 20% to Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa using Hammond, et al (2011) modified quantitative method. Enbatic® 1% is used as a positive control and sterile aquadest as a negative control. Determination of antibacterial activity of dialkyl alginate biosurfactant followed by analysis of leakage of protein and nucleic acids using UV-vis Spectrophotometry and leakage of Ca2 + and K + metal ions using Atomic Absorption Spetrophotometry (AAS). The most active concentration was formulated into cream and then performed physical evaluation (organoleptic, pH, adhesion, spreading and viscosity) and tested antibacterial activity using the well method. The test results showed that the biosurfactants of dialkyl-alginate before and after the cream was treated as antibacterial activity. The concentration of 10% was the most active concentration having activity which did not differ significantly to positive control with p value of 0,05

Abstract

Effective drug management requires careful inventory control to prevent problems with shortages or excess stock which can be detrimental to both the pharmacy and consumer service. This research aims to identify the percentage of drugs based on sales and investment transactions using the ABC method at Pharmacy "X" and grouping drugs into categories A, B, or C. This research is retrospective and uses a quantitative descriptive approach. The research object is data on the use of branded drugs at Pharmacy "X" for the period January- December 2022. The sample consists of 897 drug items throughout 2022, and samples were taken using the total sampling method. Data analysis involves marking numbers, item names, types, quantities, units, total prices, and trade groups, which are then sorted based on sales and investment transactions from largest to smallest. ABC analysis of this study shows that Group A dominates drug sales, while Group C has the largest number of drug items despite low movement. Close monitoring is required in Group A to prevent losses due to expired drugs. Pharmacy "X" needs to consider reducing inventory in Group C to optimize expenditure and storage space, thereby reducing the risk of expired medicines and increasing inventory management efficiency.

Abstract

Pharmacies have a role in providing health services and as a business that follows the principle of profitability. If drug management is inefficient, it can result in excessive drug stocks and/or running out of stock of several types of drugs. This research aims to find out how big the percentage of drugs is in the number of sales transactions and the investment value in planning drug needs using the ABC analysis method at Pharmacy "X". This research is a retrospective study using quantitative descriptive methods. The object studied is data on the number of sales transactions for generic medicines at Pharmacy "X" for the period January-December 2022. The sample used in this study was 168 items of medicine sold throughout 2022 using a total sampling technique. The results of ABC analysis based on investment value show that group A consists of 34 medicinal items with an investment value of IDR 103,417,500 (69.43%), group B consists of 42 medicinal items with an investment value of IDR 30,276,000 (20 .33%) and group C consists of 92 items of medicine with an investment value of IDR 15,258,300 (10.24%). Group A drug items have the highest sales and investment levels, so it is important to ensure stock availability to reduce the risk of decreasing service quality and pharmacy losses.
