Abstract

Natural phenomena are conditions or situations strongly influenced by natural conditions. These conditions or situations can be in the form of disasters or non-natural disasters. Introducing the concept of natural phenomena is one of the effective steps in introducing nature to children. This introduction can be done through friendly learning according to the age and characteristics of the child. In the process, children can be introduced to some natural phenomena that often occur in their environment. This learning can be carried out through outreach activities in PKM activities. This activity was carried out at KB Kurnia Bakunase, Kupang City. Topographically, Kupang City consists of low-lying areas, coastal areas, and hills, which, based on its location; Kupang City is an area that is prone to earthquakes, tsunamis, floods and droughts. Based on this, we should introduce some natural phenomena in the area where the child lives so that the children can immediately understand the concept of natural phenomena around them.

Abstract

The high rate of stunting in East Nusa Tenggara Province must be done by preventing stunting or failure to grow from the first 1000 days of a child's life. Adequate food intake for pregnant women so that the fetus develops properly. If the mother's food intake is sufficient and there are no other complications, generally the fetus will grow and develop well. Adequacy of this food intake can later be seen by the weight gain of the fetus by gestational age. Respondents in this study were pregnant women and their families who are members of the Rindu Sejahtera Posyandu community, East Penfui Village, Kupang Regency. The data collection technique used pre-test and post-test questionnaires. Analysis of the data using the formula Percentage Score (PS) = total score acquisition (n) / total score maximum (N). The results showed that before the education was conducted, the average score obtained by the respondents was 70.59%, while the average score after the educational activities was 82.35%. The educational materials after interviewing the participants showed that all participants had never received socialization about the first 1000 days of life.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic that occurred in all parts of the world has had an impact on the various sectors. Not only in the economic sector but also in the educational sector. Until Month June Year 2020, the Indonesian government had carried out a new-normal policy. The purpose of the study was to analyze the affordability of the Covid-19 referral hospital to the position of students during the new-normal era. The affordability could be observed by the distance traveled by students to the nearest Covid-19 referral hospital.  This study used the OD matrix layer from ArcMap 10.3. The sample used in this study was 87 students with 11 Covid-19 referral hospitals in East Nusa Tenggara Province. Based on the research results in the form of maps produced, showed that from 87 students observed, only 59 or 67.82% could reach the Covid-19 referral hospitals.  Meanwhile, the other 28 students or 32.18% couldn’t be reached by the hospitals. The amount of students observed, located less than 15 km from the Covid-19 referral hospitals were 35 or 40.22% from the total of 87 students. The hospital which students refer to based on their location was the WZ. Yohanes hospital.

Abstract

Landslides on the Ende - Wolowaru road, Ende Regency often occur every year, especially in the rainy season. Therefore, research was carried out to determine the level of vulnerability to landslides on the Ende - Wolowaru road section, Ende Regency, using an estimation model referring to Puslittanak research in 2004. Mapping of landslide-prone areas was carried out at a radius of 250 meters along the Ende - Wolowaru road section, Ende Regency with area 2,514 ha. The analysis used GIS analysis, such as: scoring and overlay methods based on 2004 Puslittanak Department of Agriculture estimation model. The parameters used are rainfall, rock type, slope, land cover and soil type. The results of the analysis in this study show that the level of vulnerability to landslides at the research location consists of a non-prone class covering an area of 13.38 ha, a vulnerable class covering an area of 1,620.38 ha and a very vulnerable class covering an area of 880.65 ha and (2) the level of validation mapping results that is equal to 88%.

Abstract

The importance of developing border areas as one of the programs run by the government must be supported by existing potential. Livestock is one of the largest contributors to income for the community in Napan Village. The absence of a location as a potential for developing livestock barns in Napan Village is a problem. Therefore, it is necessary to determine whether the area has a potential for developing livestock barns in Napan Village. This study includes mixed-method research and methods using forum group discussions (FGD) and IDW. Key informants are the Head of Napan Village and the community. The conclusion of this study shows that the development of livestock barns in Napan Village is quite large because it is supported by the number and types of diverse livestock and the community agrees to develop livestock barns there. The location for developing livestock barns is obtained as wide as 2.11 km2. This great potential can give Napan Village the potential for development in border areas, especially in the field of livestock. In addition, to overcome the problem of illegal livestock sales, it is necessary to build surveillance posts in border areas so that the number of incidents can be suppressed.
