Abstract

This research aims to analyze the promotional management activities related to (1) Planning, (2) Organizing, (3) Implementing, and (4) Supervising carried out at MTs Al Kautsar Yogyakarta. The research employs a qualitative approach with a case study methodology. The subjects of the research include the foundation, school principals, teachers, and students. Data collection was conducted through interviews and documentation, while data validity was ensured using triangulation. The data analysis involved three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and verification. The results of this research are as follows: 1) Planning: School promotion planning begins with an analysis conducted by the KS to determine the goals and budget, which are then submitted to the foundation. The final meeting, attended by the foundation, school principals, and senior teachers, involves determining promotional strategies, media, and techniques. The school targets are then implemented by senior teachers. A reduction in funds occurred because the school did not have a sponsor. The outcomes of the promotional meeting were documented in minutes. 2) Organizing. The foundation initiates the organizing process by selecting teams based on seniority. Information about activities is conveyed verbally, and there is no official decree regarding the structure or duties of each member. 3) Implementing: Door-to-door promotional activities are conducted directly at schools and other locations by distributing brochures. 4) Supervising: The foundation supervises the entire process, starting with planning by making decisions on goals and budgets, organizing by selecting a core team, and implementing by monitoring promotional activities.

Abstract

The challenges in realizing quality education in Indonesia are still significant. One of the main challenges is the inequality of education quality in various regions, especially in areas that are classified as remote or with limited resources. This study aims to analyze the strategies of school principals in improving teacher performance using a qualitative approach based on case studies. The subjects of the study included school principals and teachers. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, then analyzed in three stages: data condensation, data presentation, and drawing conclusions and verification. Data condensation was carried out by summarizing and sorting relevant information, while data presentation was in the form of narratives, tables, or diagrams to highlight the principal's supervision policies. Conclusions were drawn based on the patterns found and verified to ensure their validity. The results of the study showed that teachers have competence in learning planning, mastery of material, and implementation of strategies and evaluation. School principals play a strategic role in improving the quality of teaching through the provision of facilities, motivation, training, and strengthening collaboration with teachers and other stakeholders. This study implies that school principals can guide, supervise, and provide appreciation to teachers in order to improve the quality of education in schools.

Abstract

The implementation of the Kurikulum Merdeka at Center of Excellence Vocational High Schools (PK) faces challenges, including limited industrial partners, inadequate practical facilities, insufficient teacher understanding, and limited access to technology. This study aims to analyze the management of implementing the Kurikulum Merdeka at the Center of Excellence Vocational High Schools (SMK PK). A descriptive qualitative method was used, with principals, vice principals, and teachers at three PK SMKs (SMK Negeri 1, 2, and 3 Tarakan) as subjects. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and documentation, and then analyzed using the interactive model developed by Miles, Huberman, and Saldana. The results indicate that curriculum planning is conducted through the development of the Educational Unit Operational Curriculum (KOSP), involving internal stakeholders. Implementation includes intracurricular learning, the Pancasila Student Profile-based P5 project, and internships, although hampered by the lack of industrial partners. Learning evaluation remains hindered by assessment instruments that are not aligned with the principles of the Kurikulum Merdeka. The study's conclusions underscore the importance of collaboration with the Business and Industry World (DUDI), increasing teacher capacity through training, and providing supporting facilities. The research implications recommend strengthening synergy between schools, the government, and DUDI to increase the relevance of the curriculum to the needs of the world of work and optimize project-based learning.
