Abstract

One effort made by the Biology Education Study Program to provide 21st-century skills to prospective biology teacher-students is to teach STEM through STEM courses. This research covers the issue of developing innovative learning-based teaching materials and developing 21st-century competencies. The research design used in product development was referred to the Thiagarajan 4D development model, such as the define, design, develop, and disseminate stage. The research objective is to understand STEM learning materials based on Arduino Science Journal in improving prospective 21st-century biology teachers. In particular, to determine: (1) The level of validity of Arduino Science Journal-based STEM teaching materials in increasing 21st-century biology teacher candidates. (2) The levels of the practicality of STEM teaching materials based on the Arduino Science Journal to improve prospective 21st-century biology teachers. (3) The Effectiveness of Arduino Science Journal-Based STEM Teaching Materials in Improving the Learning Outcomes of Prospective 21st Century Biology Teachers. The data of research is the percentage value of the validity and practicality. The results of this study indicated that the Arduino Science Journal integrated STEM teaching materials developed, had satisfied the criteria of validity and practicality, and were used effectively in STEM learning.

Abstract

Teachers had difficulty developing Science Process Skills in biology subjects during the Pandemic at SMA Negeri 1 Sambit Ponorogo. This study aims to 1) analyze the Science Process Skills of class XI IPS 1 student at SMA Negeri 1 Sambit Ponorogo in Biology learning through pickle making practicum, 2) describe the involvement of parents in biology learning during distance learning. The research design used One-Shot Case Study. The research subjects were 27 people from class XI IPS 1 SMA Negeri 1 Sambit Ponorogo. The research instrument used a Science Process Skills observation sheet, an independent practicum assessment sheet, and an online questionnaire for parents & students. The analysis was carried out by descriptive quantitative. Based on the implementation results, it is known that Science Process Skills are categorized as good in independent practicum activities, where the ability to apply is 89.91%, concludes 78.70%, proposes 90.74% hypotheses, predicts 77.78%, and observes 92.59%. While 62.59% of parents are less involved in helping students while learning from home, this affects the success of distance learning. The conclusion of this research is; 1) Practicum making events can be used in applying Science Process skills of Class XI IPS 1 student at SMA Negeri 1 Sambit Ponorogo, 2) Parental involvement in biology learning during distance learning in Class XI IPS 1 SMA Negeri 1 Sambit Ponorogo needs to be improved, because of involvement parents are still very low during distance learning in class XI IPS 1 SMA Negeri 1 Sambit Ponorogo.

Abstract

Abstrak: Berdasarkan hasil wawancara dengan pengurus MGMP IPA Kabupaten Bengkayang, diperoleh informasi bahwa banyak guru IPA yang berkeinginan untuk dapat membuat media pembelajaran yang dapat digunakan untuk mengajar di kelas sesuai dengan karakteristik materi dan kondisi lingkungan serta sarana prasarana di sekolah. Program Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru-guru MGMP IPA Kabupaten Bengkayang dalam pembuatan media pembelajaran Sains Interaktif menggunakan sofware macromedia Flash sesuai dengan karakter materi IPA dan pembuatan soal interaktif menggunakan sofware Easy Quizzy. Metode yang digunakan adalah pelatihan dan pendampingan, yang dilaksanakan di SMPN 1 Teriak Kabupaten Bengkayang, Provinsi Kalimantan Barat pada tanggal 22 sampai dengan 24 Oktober 2018.Abstract:  Based on the results of interviews with the management of the MGMP Natural Sciences Bengkayang Regency, information was obtained that many science teachers who wish to be able to make learning media that can be used to teach in a class by following the characteristics of the material and environmental conditions and also infrastructure in schools. This Community Service Program aims to improve the competency of Bengkayang Regency MGMP teachers in making Interactive Science learning media using Macromedia Flash software by following the character of the science material and making interactive questions using Easy Quizzy software. The method used is training and mentoring, which was carried out at SMPN 1 Teriak, Bengkayang Regency, West Kalimantan Province on October 22-24, 2018.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman guru tentang implementasi model Double Critical Technology Society (DCTS) pada pembelajaran IPA. Sasaran kegiatan ini adalah guru-guru IPA SMP dan SMA yang berada pada wilayah Kabupaten Kapuas Hulu, yang berjumlah 60 orang.  Kegiatan ini dilakukan dengan metode ceramah, diskusi, dan tanya jawab.  Materi sosialisasi terdiri dari pembelajaran IPA, pembelajaran berbasis konstruktivisme, serta pembelajarn IPA menggunakan model DCTS.  Berdasarkan hasil sosialisasi yang dilaksanakan menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan dan pemahaman peserta tentang implementasi pembelajarn IPA berbasis Konstruktivisme menggunakan model DCTS. Selain itu kegiatan berjalan lancar dan besarnya antusias peserta terhadap kegiatan ini. Melalui kegiatan sosialisasi ini peserta dapat menggunakan model DCTS sebagai sebuah strategi pembelajaran IPA di kelas.This community service activity aims to increase teachers' understanding of the implementation of the Double Critical Technology Society (DCTS) model in science learning. The target of this activity is the science teachers of SMP and SMA in the Kapuas Hulu district, totalling 60 people. This activity is carried out through lectures, discussions, and questions and answers. The socialization materials consisted of science learning, constructivism-based learning, and science learning using the DCTS model. Based on the results of the socialization carried out, it showed an increase in participants' knowledge and understanding of the implementation of constructivism-based science learning using the DCTS model. Also, the activity ran smoothly, and the participants were enthusiastic about this activity. Through this socialization activity, participants can use the DCTS model as a science learning strategy in the classroom.

Abstract

Potensi alam desa Sungai Pandan, Kecamatan Batu Ampar Kabupaten Kubu Raya yang melimpah, belum optimal dimanfaatkan oleh warga masyarakat. Kelompok ibu-ibu PKK Desa Sungai Pandan masih membutuhkan keterampilan dalam mengelola potensi desa. Dalam rangka menciptakan masyarakat mandiri dengan memanfaatkan potensi dan keunggulan wilayah masing-masing secara bertahap dan berkelanjutan, maka program studi pendidikan biologi IKIP PGRI Pontianak mengadakan pelatihan Eco Printing yang diikuti 11 orang ibu-ibu PKK Desa Sungai Pandan. Metode pelaksanaan program PKM ini adalah sebagai berikut; 1) Persiapan, 2) Analisa kebutuhan mitra, 3) Perancangan Eco-printing, 4) Pelatihan Eco-Printing, 5) Evaluasi. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada tanggal 10 Agustus 2021, Teknik Eco Printing digunakan dalam pelatihan adalah teknik pukul (pounding) yang diaplikasikan pada Toot Bag Kanvas. Peserta merasakan bahwa kegiatan pelatihan sangat bermakna dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan, dan dapat dikembangkan lagi untuk dapat dijual atau dipasarkan baik manual maupun secara online, sehingga kegiatan yang telah dilakukan dapat meningkatkan kesejahteraan warga di Desa Sungai Kupah melalui penjulan Toot Bag Kanvas. The community has not optimally utilized the abundant natural potential of Sungai Pandan Village, Batu Ampar District, Kubu Raya Regency. The group of PKK women in Sungai Pandan Village still needs skills in managing village potential. In order to create an independent community by utilizing the potential and advantages of each region gradually and sustainably, the Biology Education Study Program of IKIP PGRI Pontianak held an Eco Printing training attended by 11 PKK women from Sungai Pandan Village. The method of implementing this PKM program is as follows; 1) Preparation, 2) Analysis of partner needs, 3) Eco-printing design, 4) Eco-Printing Training, 5) Evaluation. In the activity carried out on August 10, 2021, the Eco Printing technique used in training was the pounding technique applied to the Canvas Toot Bag. Participants felt that the training activities were significant in increasing knowledge. They could be further developed to be sold or marketed both manually and online so that the activities carried out can improve the welfare of residents in Sungai Kupah Village through the sale of Canvas Toot Bags.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the biology blog project-based learning on the creativity of students and cognitive ability in the e-learning course, biology department program IKIP PGRI Pontianak. The method in this research was quasi-experimental. The research design used in this study was a nonequivalent control group design, using two groups. The instruments used are; student creativity test, creativity observation guidelines, cognitive test. The Wilcoxon test results showed a difference in the effectiveness of using project-based learning between the pretest-posttest control class and the pretest-posttest experimental class. Then at the project implementation stage, the results obtained that students have trained to be collaborative, independent, and creative in making a biology blog. Meanwhile, based on observations, students have been able to use flexibility skills in various ways to solve problems when creating biology blogs, integrating text, images, and videos into blogs. In addition, students use Elaboration skills to develop ideas and details of group assignments in more detail. Thus, this study can conclude that biology project-based learning effectively improved student creativity in making a biology blog.

Abstract

Kendala proses belajar mengajar di SMA Negeri 1 Suhaid yaitu; siswa masih merasa kurang tertarik dengan penyajian materi yang disampaikan karena media yang selama ini digunakan hanya power point, buku paket, dan bersifat abstrak. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan media interaktif yang dilengkapi dengan LKS dan menganalisis bagaimana kelayakan media interaktif virus menurut ahli materi serta ahli media. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode research and development dengan desain pengembangan model Hannafin & Peck model. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan konsep Miles dan Hubermen, menggunakan data reduction, data display, dan conclusion.  Hasil penilaian media interaktif virus yang dikembangkan memperoleh skor sebesar 84,44 oleh pakar media dan 88,89 oleh pakar materi dan termasuk dalam kriteria sangat layak untuk digunakan. LKS berdasarkan penilaian pakar materi mendapatkan nilai persentase sebesar 82,89% dan terkategorikan layak. Berdasarkan hasil filed test dapat disimpulkan bahwa media interaktif dan lembar kerja siswa dapat membantu siswa dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar.Kata kunci: Media pembelajaran interaktif, lembar kerja siswa, virus The development of interactive learning media and student worksheets on virus materials. Based on observations and interviews with teachers at SMA Negeri 1 Suhaid, it is believed there are still many problems that teachers and students face in Teaching and Learning Activities on viral material namely; Students still feel less interested in the presentation material presented because the media which has so far only been used is powerpoints, textbooks, and abstract translations. The purpose of this research is to analyze how interactive media viruses interact with material experts and media experts, and how the development of interactive media is equipped with worksheets. The method used in this study is the research and development method, with the Hannafin & Peck model development design. The data analysis used Miles and Huberman, consist of data reduction, data display, and conclusions. Results interactive virus media developed obtained a score is 84.44 by media experts and 88.89 by material experts and included in the criteria was very feasible to use. While the worksheet based on material experts obtained a percentage value is 82.89% and was categorized as feasible. Based on the results submitted, the test can conclude an interactive media and worksheets can assist students in improving learning outcomes.Keywords: Interactive media education, student worksheet, virus

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk: (1) mengetahui hasil penilaian ahli terhadap Physics World Adventure berbasis game edukasi berdasarkan ahli materi dan media. (2) mengetahui respon siswa terhadap Physics World Adventure berbasis game edukasi. (3) mengetahui hasil belajar siswa setelah menggunakan Physics World Adventure berbasis game edukasi. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian dan pengembangan dengan model pengembangan yang digunakan adalah model Borg & Gall yang digunakan telah dimodifikasi untuk disesuaikan dengan pengembangan yang akan dilakukan. Berdasarkan hasil uji coba produk game edukasi Physics World Adventure terhadap siswa, secara garis besar siswa memberikan tanggapan yang baik setelah memainkan game edukasi Physics World Adventure dengan memperoleh skor rata-rata 81,40% dengan kriteria sangat baik. Sedangkan berdasarkan hasil belajar siswa setelah menggunakan game edukasi Physics World Adventure pada uji coba produk, diketahui bahwa presentase siswa yang tuntas sebesar 57,15 % dan siswa yang belum tuntas sebesar 42,85 %.  Berdasarkan penilain ahli media memperoleh skor sebesar 2,92 yang masuk dalam kategori layak dan penilaian ahli materi memperoleh skor rata-rata sebesar 1,89 dengan kriteria cukup layak.

Abstract

Berdasarkan hasil wawancara dengan pengurus AGSI-KALBAR dan juga guru-guru IPA di kabupaten Bengkayang, diperoleh informasi bahwa banyak guru IPA yang berkeinginan untuk dapat membuat media pembelajaran yang menarik, kreatif dan berbasis teknologi selain power point. Guru-guru MGMP IPA Kab Bengkayang berkeinginan untuk dapat membuat media pembelajaran sesuai dengan karakteristik materi serta dapat digunakan dalam mengajar di kelas. Program Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru-guru IPA dalam pembuatan media pembelajaran Berbasis Macromedia Flash sesuai dengan karakter materi IPA di Kabupaten Bengkayang. Metode yang digunakan adalah pelatihan dan pendampingan, yang dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Komputer IKIP PGRI Pontianak.

Abstract

This study aims to see an overview of the adaptations that students have made to learning during the Covid-19 pandemic in biology subjects at Ponorogo 1 Public High School. The research method used is a descriptive quantitative method with data collection carried out through online questionnaires using the google formula to 361 students of Ponorogo 1 Public High School from Class X, XI, and XII MIPA related to the implementation of biology learning. Based on online questionnaires, 67.31% of respondents had difficulty understanding the learning material because they did not meet directly with the teacher so that 50.14% of respondents tried to always come on time to participate in online learning. The application that mostly like by 68.70% of respondents is google classroom. While 93.91% of respondents can apply independent learning, and 77.56% of respondents feel happy with online learning.
