Abstract

This research was conducted based on the facts showing that the students ability in mathematical reasoning problem was still low in class X of SMA Negeri Painan. This could be seen from the result of observation and analysis of their achivement on mathematic reasoning test. To overcome this problem, Problem Based Instruction model was applied. This research was designed for revealing the effect of using Problem Based Instruction model on the students reasoning abilities the in class X of SMA Negeri Painan. This was a quasi experimental research. The population of the research was the students in class X of SMA Negeri Painan. By using Random Sampling technique, class X.6 of SMA Negeri 2 Painan was chosen as the experimental group and class X.4 of SMA Negeri 2 Painan was chosen as the control group. The instruments of the research were a questionnaire of creativity to see the students creativity in learning and a test to see their ability in mathematic reasoning. Based on the result of the research, some conclusions were drawn. First, the reasoning abilities of the students taught by using Problem Based Instruction model was better than that of students taught by using conventional model. Second, the reasoning ability of the students having high and low kreativity taught by using Problem Based Instruction model was better than that of students taught by using conventional model.

Abstract

The mathematics learning outcomes of most of the VIII grade students of MTsN Lubuk Buaya have not reached the Minimum Completeness Criteria. One of the efforts that can be made by the teacher to activate students in learning which can improve student learning outcomes is to apply an active learning strategy of the Listener Team type using Microsoft Powerpoint media. The purpose of this study was to determine the activities and learning outcomes of students' mathematics by implementing an active learning strategy of Listening Team type using Microsoft Powerpoint media. This research is a quasi-experimental research. The population of this study were students of class VIII MTsN Lubuk Buaya. The sampling technique was done by drawing numbers and the selected samples were students of class VIII.2 as the experimental class and class VIII.3 as the control class. The data were first tested for normality, homogeneity test and analysis of variance. The results showed that the mathematics learning outcomes of students who used the application of the Listener Team type active learning strategy using Microsoft Powerpoint media were better than conventional learning in class VIII MTsN Lubuk Buaya. The student activity data was obtained through observations at each meeting in the experimental class which showed that students' mathematics learning activities increased after being taught by implementing an active learning strategy of Listening Team type using Microsoft Powerpoint media in class VIII MTsN Lubuk Buaya.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the monotonous teacher teaching method, which requires students to remember the material without asking to understand the concept of learning mathematics. So that mathematics learning has not achieved the expected results. To solve this problem, the Discovery Learning model (guided discovery) is a solution that will be tried. The goal is that there is a change in student learning attitudes and teacher teaching so that they will get good learning outcomes and achieve KKM. This research model uses a quantitative approach with experimental methods, with a random research design on the subject. The population in this study were students of class VII MTsS Darussalam Amping Parak for the 2020/2021 academic year which consisted of two classes. The sampling technique was carried out randomly, class VIIB as the experimental class and VIIA as the control class. The instrument used in this study was a reliable essay final test. The data analysis technique used is the one-party t test. Hypothesis testing using the one-party t-test, obtained t = 3.21 and t table = 1.67. Because tcount> ttable, this research hypothesis is accepted. So, it can be concluded that the mathematics learning outcomes of students using the Discovery Learning Model are better than the mathematics learning outcomes of students taught using conventional learning in class VII students of MTsS Darussalam Amping Parak for the 2020/2021 academic year

Abstract

The ability to understand mathematical concepts of grade VII students at MTsN 12 Pesisir Selatan has not been satisfactory. Learning that does not provide a memorable learning process and does not involve students in the discovery of mathematical concepts makes the concept only memorized without deep understanding. Discovery learning can facilitate and build students' understanding of mathematical concepts. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of discovery learning on the ability to understand mathematical concepts of Grade VII students of MTsN 12 Pesisir Selatan based on students' initial abilities. The study population was students of class VII MTsN 12 Pesisir Selatan in the 2017/2018 school year, with the sample of the study being randomly selected, namely class VI.4 students as the experimental class and VII.1 as the control class. This type of research is Quasi Exspriment. The research data were obtained from the results of the initial ability test and the mathematical concept understanding test given after the experiment was carried out. Data analysis using t test. The results of the analysis show that: 1) The ability to understand mathematical concepts of students with high initial ability who are taught discovery learning models is better than students who are taught with conventional learning, 2) The ability to understand mathematical concepts of students with low initial ability who are taught discovery learning models are better than students who are taught with conventional learning.Bacer, F, K. 2004. Abstract

This research began from issues of the low Mathematicabilities students of class VIIIMTsN Balai Selasa.This research is aimed to reveal the effect of Cooperatif modelswith Hands On Mathematic in mathematicstudents ability started from highand low, as well as the interaction between the model and the learning ability of students in influencing early understanding concept ability. This research is a quasi experimental design. The population in this research is all students of class VIIIMTsN Balai Selasa. The sampling technique used is Random Sampling. Samples of this research are the students of class VIII.2 as the experimental class and class VIII.4 as the control class. The instrument used is a test consists of beginning capabilities test and Posttest to see the understanding-concept ability. Data analysis was performed using t-test and ANAVA two ways for interaction.There are some conclusions that can be acquired based on the results of research and discussion. First, the students which use cooperative learning STAD type with hands on mathematics technic have higher understanding-concept abilitythan students that use the conventional learning. Second, the high starting students abilityunderstanding-concept ability higher than students low starting students ability. Third, there is no interaction between the model of learning and the prior knowledge of students in influencing the understanding conceptmathematical ability.Keywords : Model Pembelajaran Kooperatif Tipe STAD, Hands On Mathematics, Pemahaman Konsep, Kemampuan Awal.

Abstract

Disposition is a character or personality that is needed for an individual to succeed. Students need a mathematical disposition to persevere in the face of problems, take responsibility in their learning, and develop good work habits in mathematics. However, the mathematical disposition of STKIP Pesisir Selatan students while attending basic statistics lectures is still far from expectations. This is seen from the results of a questionnaire that 56% of students who do not like elementary statistics courses. In addition they lack confidence in solving problems in mathematics. For this reason, a learning model is needed to overcome them. One model that can be used is problem based learning. With learning like this will form the tendency of students to be diligent, conscientious, never give up, see a problem from a variety of different perspectives to get a solution so that when the student successfully resolves a given problem, it will give a sense of pleasure, satisfaction and confidence appears. The purpose of this study is to find out how to increase the mathematical disposition of STKIP Pesisir Selatan students in basic statistics courses before and after learning problem based learning and whether the improvement is significant. All populations were sampled, namely students of mathematics and ICT education courses taking basic statistics courses in the even semester 2018/2019. This type of research is Quasi Exspriment with One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The research data were obtained from a questionnaire given before and after the experiments were carried out. Data analysis used N-gain test to measure the increase in mathematical disposition and continued by paired sample t test to see the significance of the increase. The results of the analysis show that the increase in mathematical disposition of STKIP Pesisir Selatan students with the application of problem based learning in basic statistical subjects has increased quite well, but the increase that occurred was not significant.

Abstract

This research began from issues of the low Problem solving skills abilities students of class X SMAN Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan.This research is aimed to reveal the effect of PBI models in problem solving skills students ability started from high, medium and low, as well as the interaction between the model and the learning ability of students in influencing early problem-solving abilities and students mathematical creative thinking. This research is a quasi experimental design of The Randomized Posttest Only Control Group Design. The population in this research is all students of class X SMAN Pesisir Selatan. The sampling technique used is Random Sampling. Samples of this research are the students of class X SMAN 2 Lengayang in the class X.4 as the experimental class and class X.1 as the control class. The instrument used is a test consists of beginning capabilities test and Posttest to see the problem-solving ability. Data analysis was performed using t-test and ANAVA two ways for interaction.There are some conclusions that can be acquired based on the results of research and discussion. First, the students which use PBI have higher problem solving skills than students that use the conventional learning. Second, problem solving high ability students that using PBI model of learning higher than students using the conventional learning.Third, the starting students mathematical problem solving ability is medium and the students which use PBI higher than students using conventional learning. Fourth, the mathematical problem solving ability of low level students that use PBI models less than students using the conventional learning.Fifth, there is no interaction between the model of learning and the prior knowledge of students in influencing the problem solving mathematical.Keywords : Problem Based Instruction(PBI), Problem Solving, Kemampuan Awal.

Abstract

This study aims to describe students' difficulties in solving the problem solving mathematic problem and its causal factors. This research is qualitative descriptive research. The subject of this research is the students of class VII MTsN 12 Pesisir Selatan located in Ranah Pesisir subdistrict with the sample chosen by purposive sampling. Data obtained through tests, interviews and observations. Data validated by triangulation method. The data analysis framework is reviewed from the problem solving steps of understanding problem, problem solving strategy and problem solving result and interpretation of problem solving result (conclusion). Data analysis techniques used in this study is the percentage and data analysis techniques according to Milles and Hubermen for the analysis of difficulty and factors causing the difficulty.The results of data analysis show that, first difficulties experienced by students in understanding the problem that is identifying what is known and asked and make problems in symbol or mathematical model. Second, the students have difficulties in making the settlement strategy because they can not relate the concept to the problem or the ability of the students' mathematical connection is still weak. Third, students have difficulty in calculating the settlement because of difficulties in understanding the concept. Abstract

The reality that occurs shows that students' mathematics learning achievement has not been in line with expectations. Students' mathematics learning outcomes based on test scores, there are still many students whose scores are below the specified KKM, which is 77. If you pay attention when learning takes place, it seems that many students are less interested in learning mathematics. Especially if the math class is at the last hour. This is one of the obstacles students are not motivated to learn mathematics. In addition, learning activities have not optimized student-centered learning models, so that the learning process feels less interesting so that students' understanding of mathematical concepts is still low. This study aims to determine the effect of the TTW strategy in improving learning outcomes in terms of understanding students' mathematical concepts. This type of research is a quasi-experimental research (quasi-experimental). The population in this study were students of class XI SMAN 1 Painan, class XI IIS 4 as the experimental class and class XI IIS 1 as the control class. The instrument used is a concept understanding test. The results of the hypothesis in this study are that students' understanding of mathematical concepts who take part in learning using the TTW type cooperative learning model is higher than students who use conventional learning. This means that the TTW type cooperative learning model has a good effect on students' conceptual understanding.
